Would the 2014 Raiders beat the 85 Bears in the Super Bowl

I could be wrong on that I will admit. You're right, they did have a huge size advantage on offensive line that a Mac Truck could drive through. Teams are that size now. It was a great team, though. Lol

I'm trying to be objective here. When I see Larry Bird play and see Dirk play I don't see much difference. That's my point.

Objectively looking at the NBA in the early 80's and today's NBA I see a totally didfrernt game. It's all around higher level of competition and the skill play is much higher imo. That's just what I see.

I believe more players from the 80's and 90's could play in todays game than players from todays game going back 25+ years and doing well. Back in the day defense was so much greater, fundamentals, shooting etc. Todays game is much more about being an athletic freak etc. I think the skill set by those 25 years ago would transfer better than current players.

I would take Brady over Aikman anyday all day. How is that for homerism?

I could be wrong on that one, also. Hell I was 12 years old. I just know the '85 Bears has always been regarded as the bsst NFL teams ever when I see rankings. Due to the size of the athletes now and the speed I don't know.

This is thread is about Bird vs Dirk though. Dirks one foot fade away has been called unstoppable. I've seen it over and over.

Remember when Nate Newton got caught with like 300 pounds of weed and said he "couldn't see himself not being the top dope man" That was great, that's a real quote.

Those guys were partying like rock stars. I remember Michael Irvin getting pulled over on Thanksgiving Day and the cop found a crack pipe in his door. Irvin said it was his uncles I believe that was over for the Hoilidays.

I watched the whole of both of their careers, and Bird was clearly better, the statistics and the rings don't lie.

Larry would tell opponents where he was going to be when he was going to hit the game winning shot in their face.

Isn't it crazy how many more athletic white guys played in the 70s and 80s than the last 10-15 years? Stupid GMs

Who really needs any of that 2.5B national TV money anyway right?

In Fz's defense, I've never seen him wrong about any issue on this forum.....so he's probably 100% correct here as well.

I undestand Bird was a once in a lifetime talent but in a country as big as ours we can't find another Chris Mullin or Tom Chambers? Nobody wants to make 300 mill over 18 years as well as another 200 in endorsements? I know they say the economy is improving on TV but that's weird

It's almost as if there are guys like that and they just aren't as good now relative to the competition (Gordon Hayward, Chandler Parsons...solid players but not perennial all-stars)

FZ will tell you Romo is a bad 4th qtr QB. Never mind he has 27 game winning drives now in the fourth qtr and has the highest 4th qtr QB rating in the History of the NFL.
