Any more info on this? What are the basics assuming someone was interested? You know, not me since it's illegal and all, but if my friend maybe was? Haha.

very easy to do. I don't want to go into details other than that, you can get my email from a mod if you want and I could help you out. I can get over 1200 tv channels and 230 music channels

yes there are hd receivers, they are more $$$ than regular STB's, probably $300 and up. You don't get the packages per say but because the channels are opened up you get all the regional fox sports channels, and other sports networks like comcast, masn, etc.... for nfl games you can get games on local affilates in the markets of each team. You may not get all the games each week, sometimes there are 1 or 2 games that are only shown in local markets but over the whole season you will get over 90% of the games. I can get local channels from la, sf, atl, denver, etc...where you can find the games. all newer receives have epg's so its easy to find the games. Only hitch is sometimes it will go down, fixes are usually out within 24 hrs but can take a few days sometimes. i still have basic cable as a backup just in case but i use my dish 95% of the time.

also there are like 15 porn channels too if you are into that kind of stuff and lots of reg ppv movies too.

Nothing better then Direct TV sunday ticket.

Sure there is, calling their "Customer retention department", complaining that ST is too expensive and you want to cancel it, having them offer you a bunch of free shit so you don't cancel it, accepting the offer of free shit in exchange for keeping the ST that you never planned to cancel.

Which are you referring to, FTA or Directv?

DirecTV. Worst customer service ever and they continue to outsource. I like to understand the person on the other line. Some oversea call centers are just fine because the company cares about whether the person can speak English. DirecTV lets anyone in there even if they have issues putting basic sentences together or understanding how to do anything.

I am not a fan of that company at all. They treat their customers like crap.

LOL. Nice. I think the savings of not having to go to the bar every Sunday paid for ST for me in the first few weeks.

I had issue getting them to come out and install it as they were changing systems and lost my order. They gave me 150 buck credit and fixed everything up. The few times I called I only spoke to American peps who were right on point.

The only reason I have Satellite is to watch sports anyway so without the NFL ticket I could care less about TV.

If your going to check out the free to air you should go with dishnetwork. They have the same packages as directtv, but when you get an fta box there is no hassle of trying to set up another satellite. FTA works right off the dishnetwork satellites. You can have one running in about 5 minutes if you do about a little homework before hand. ftatalk is also a good site for info. If you choose directtv you will need another satellite dish for your fta as i don't think anyone is hacking direct.

Installation is all American I believe. It's been a while since I worked for them though. I know that the people who try to keep customers who try to cancel are all American. The outsourcing is more for if you have a problem during the time after it's installed. They look good during signup and good during cancellation but in the middle is where they send screw ya. Don't get me wrong, not all the overseas dudes are bad but I'd say 95% of them have issues doing anything and are badly trained at both their jobs and the English language.

I also find it pretty funny when a dude that can barely speak English introduces himself as "Bill" or "Joey". They all have to use madeup names to get people to think they aren't in India or wherever.
