Alex Smith did more than Hamlin but really didn’t do a whole lot in the year he won, he just came back from a life threatening injury and nearly having his leg amputated
Big Ben should've got it that year.

In a normal year where you don’t have a player who came back from the dead I could see a path for Darnold .
It would require Purdy getting injured early in the year but it could happen

The former 3rd pick of the draft been a bust everywhere he goes takes over for an injured Purdy in week 3 and SF goes 14-3

That would be his path in a normal year
Makes sense

But at just +1200?

I’m on Hamlin for decent amount

Unless it’s revealed he’s really dead and sheriff joe was right all along, I’d be reasonably surprised if he didn’t win

also think Wilson is done but even if he jumps over the defense from midfield gonna be tough to beat Hamlin
lol...Joe MIA recently.

Man, coach Payton has raved "biggly" about Wilson in the press...is he that guy normally? I didn't think so.
I think that system was so bad last year in Denver it's tough to say Wilson is done..Plus I think Payton is the right coach for the sorta dude Wilson is..

Wilsons problem has always been making reads and moving through the progressions quickly.. you know Payton knows this and whatever his name was who coached them last year had no clue Wilson was sorta slow.
it's a good set up I think.

Payton is a massive upgrade at coach

But Wilson is over the hill. He hasn't been very good for a while now. He doesn't have the ability to make something out of nothing on his feet anymore.

And his surroundings (outside Payton) are not very good.

hummmm...he had horrible O lines in Seattle for his last two years he literally ran for his life most weekends.. Top 10 offensive line in Denver .. Still like it but value the opinions .
I'd add Denver has a back they like a lot.. any sorta capable running game helps Wilson a ton...

They were a top 10 o line last year going into the season

Never understood the Jeudy/Patrick hype though.

Very below average receiving corp even if they're healthy

making it easy
“Really good. He’s a tireless worker,” Payton said of Wilson. “At times, we try to take tags he’s familiar with [along with] play design because we’re installing it for the first time, and if it’s something that’s clean for him, we can adjust. Today, we added a couple things for third down and red zone that we think we’re going to use throughout the regular season.”

Systems...I think it's super interesting what Payton is doing.. I'd bet you'll know early in the season if Wilson is truly done.

First up the Raiders and their horrible defense

With all that he'll probably be riding the bench by week 5 and you can talk yourself in to just about any bet. lol

I would be all over Wilson for the award if it weren’t for Hamlin
Even started a thread titled “I wanted to bet R Wilson but Hamlin

right here. https://www.therx.com/threads/damar...eback-player-or-the-year-next-season.1235716/

Doesn't this award usually go to a player coming off an injury rather than a player coming off a shitty year ?
It can be both

Geno won last year after coming off a shitty career

there’s no real criteria

Goff was live down the stretch and he was just off a shitty year rather than injury

If you watched every play of the Seahawks 2022 season like I did you'd be surprised Geno won it...I was.
Seattle had a lot of good bounces and Geno's last 4th of the season wasn't good..It's because Geno sucked for almost a decade that he won it.

Wilson's just done man

He had a nice career. He's just getting older and not everyone ages well. He's not built to age well
