Politics is a show for the public....A Parallel government has been in existence for over 50 years as reported by Carol Quigley, Georgetown Professor and CFR Historian....

Why anyone would be "into" Politics is beyond me...If I want to be entertained, I'll watched Female Wrestling...

The point I was making is that the Japanese were far from being exonerated for the attack because it was against “our military” when in fact children were killed. ... If in fact their were only 50 killed, so what? The number is not the issue it’s the fact that it happened.

Dave, as I said before, I agree that the American strategic bombings were a legit tactic, but if you really compare the inadvertent killing of a few American civilians who unfortunately happened to be in the wrong place at the time of the Japanese attack to the American strategic bombings that were conducted with the full intention to kill hundredthousands of Japanese civilians then I'm afraid this makes no sense.

Bardude, you do know we're not at war with Iraq, eh? I think that war lasted 2 weeks and had relatively few casualties.

Unless I missed it, the USA never declared war on Iraq, nor vice versa.

Are we in a declared war? No. Is our military deployed in a foreign land facing the threat of death on a daily basis as we routinely take action to kill the enemy? Yes. declaration-smeclaration

If our military folks don't like the current scene, they have only themselve to blame for initiating active warfare on Mar 19, 2003

I could not disagree more strongly unless by military folks you mean the top leaders, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Cheney, Bush, in which case, I would agree. Maybe I read it wrong.

You read it correctly. By "military folks" I was reefering directly to the Commander in Chief and the high level Pentagon leadership.

As I understand it, we studied the potential occupation of Germany for two years leading up to D-day. How do we feed the people? Where do we put pow's, etc. The geniuses in Washington in 2003 put a handful of people in an office with no phones or computers for the first couple of weeks and finally developed a plan for the occupation of Iraq in a grand total of 50 days. Pure genius.
