Crazy, i can remember Wendel Clark and Todd Gill being able to pound guys down like a jackhammer. And your correct. But I also, along with watching Stevie Y grow up, was right there for the Bob Probert and Joey Kocer years. Before the wings got exciting as yzerman grew, Probert and Kocer entertained those crowds almost like a championship year team. People would come down to see a bad team just to get a chance to tell their friends they witnessed a Probert fight. That was some exciting shit. ALMOST as fun as winning championships. The "Bruise Brothers" and "Give blood, fight Probert" t-shirts were everywhere.
Rick Vaive was always a favorite of mine. And watching Harold Ballard in his suite on a HNIC evening was what old time hockey back then was all about.
