Blatant calls is one thing, but these old men cannot make these weak judgement calls to influence the OUTCOME of the damn games.
The defensive holding on the defensive tackle was bullshit.
The defensive holding on Jennings was ticky tack.
You wanna make those weak calls, then you need to be throwing a flag on Rivers for intentional grounding when he shot puts the ball out as he's about to hit the ground.
Even Madden said "it was redemption" for the refs.

agree, the bottom line is the defensive holding call for all intensive purposes ended the game. The officials cannot bail Rivers out with a flag on 3rd and 10 in an OT playoff game. Especially when Rivers can't even complete a pass down field all game basically. As a football fan it was shameful to see it called. SD may have eventually done enough to win, but they should have been punting from the IND 40 in OT.
The officiating wasn't bad in the game. Down the stretch the only call I thought should have been over looked was the offensive holding call.

The crew that officiated the SD game led the league in flags thrown during the rugular season...when asked about this before the game, even Dungy said that there will be an abnormal number of penalties called...he was RIGHT! This had to be one of the worst games called by officials that I have ever seen, but SD deserved to win....didn't change the outcome...

a) No --- there were multiple reply's shown of Freeney getting grilled on the edge with hands up in his face all day long.
*those calls were WAY more obvious than the illegal use of the hands by the Colts, which gave the game to the Charger in OT.
Sorry, but that is just bad referring.....
Sux that a game this well played with so much at stake could really be decided by a bad 'homer' call.
*At INDY that call is never made. THAT'S A FACT!! (Aside from the crowd this the true definition of 'home field' addy)

That's the thing, they could call a penalty on every play if they wanted to. Ron Winter calling the most penalties... picking and choosing calls on key plays is THEM TRYING TO MAKE THE GAME ABOUT THE REFS AND NOT THE PLAYERS.
He is the worst ref out there easily. How he gets the big games is a joke. Hockule, mad a few bad calles earlier in the year, but him, Gene Skelator or even the gay black guy who snaps his fingers ( mike carey) are all better than old man Winter. I hope he has a heart attack or something.

It's about time that something went right against the Colts. How many years do the Colts get away with murder when it comes to NON-PENALTIES at all. If you look every single year there offensive line is called for the fewest holding calls because of Manning. There have numerous times that Peyton "WHINER" Manning's o-line should have been called for holding and they don't.
Take it for what it is, the holding on the db was clear. IT WAS HOLDING PEOPLE....not pass interference. If I recall that you cannot grab a player twice before the pass is thrown. The face mask is a no f-ing brainer. You kids who come on here and whine about officiating quit gambling. Next thing your gonna do is blame the ref for the coin flip as well. The COLTS are over rated always have and always will be. If not they were not they should have 4 or 5 rings by now. The Chargers were the play from beggining to end...... end of story..........
