I'd take one out to keep Danks in, without question. The way he was pitching? HE ONLY HAD 80 F---king Pitches!!!

Because of one game? Do you watch this team? NO.

Dotel is far from the worst pitcher on this team. He has gotten this team out of more jams than anyone on their staff.

This was not a bad move by Ozzie but it didn't work out. It is so easy to say it after the fact but it was the right move. John Danks has not been going past the 6th inning all year. The White Sox bullpen has been the best in the league IMO. They blew it today, Yes, but it was the correct move.

Can't fault the manager for taking out his pitcher when historically he knows he doesn't do well past the 6th inning. He only did what he thought was best. If he had left in danks, and he performed poorly,I'm sure critics would come in here and say why did they leave him in knowing he doesn't do well after the 6th. dAmned if you do and damned if you don't. I agree, can't blame the manager.

Imimagining a scneario where dotel comes in to the dugout, and ozzie says nothing to him, and simply send ssomeone over to him, toe scort him into the locker room, give him 10 mins to shower and dress, and be driven to the airport, never to wear a chisox uniform again......this game meant alot more to the chisox today than it did to the cubs i believe......

if the mets can fire willie at 3 am...i totally think dotel should be given a one way ticket to his next team, or hometown after this inning. he shouldnt even see the 9th inning from the clubhouse, he should jsut be on the way to the airport.....ozzie will k ill him after the game, strangle him, tap him out after the game in the locker room if they dont win this 1

if ozzie doesnt do that i hope the rest of the team beats him with soap in a sock!

definitely the right move...the pinch hitter even got a hit for danks when he came in...i just woudla rather seen any other righty than dotel...i think hes terrible (prior to this game)

1st, I think most of us said this BEFORE THE FACT. I actually said they better not pinch hit for him, he is shutting them down. 2nd, Danks had only thrown 80 pitches and has shut down the Cubs from the 2nd inning on. He had ATLEAST 1 more good inning left in him. You don't under any circumstance lift your pitcher who is dominating a game with only 80 pitches thrown for a pinch hitter. How you can say that was a smart move is beyond me.

I would never say that. HE ONLY THREw 80 PITCHES. I'M SURE He usually gets pulled after the 6th because he has around 100 pitches. It doesn't have to do with the inning, it has to do with his pitch count.

Like I said, I would sacrifice an out to keep my lights out pitcher on the mound

Once again he has been just as valuable to this team as Bobby Jenks and Scott Linebrink. He has gotten this team out of more jams than anyone. Please man watch the team before you attack a guy. You clearly have seen him pitch in the past.

This chatter is the definition of how a gambler draws a conclusion based on one game and suddenly knows it all. Follow the team before you know what the right and wrong decisions are. He has been lights out and he will continue to be after this bad outing.

You act like you've been following this team the whole year. He had a bad inning. Relievers have that. Thank you for the input though. I'm an idiot. You know more than me about this team even though I watch and read about them every single game. You bet on them and watch one game and suddenly you're the expert. I'll take note.

PS. Zeke saw that you agreed with the pulling of him after I wrote this so this excludes you

i disagree with bringing in dotel...but fully agree with grabbing danks , he had some balls hit hardly, and all the dps that bailed him out...1 run thru 6 regardless of pitch count was definitely time to grab him.....

u dont wanna send a tried lefty out there tof ace two strong righties in lee and ramirez...just shouldnt have been dotel.....

Still think he made the right decision. Get off your anger because the game is tied. Be a big boy will you.

Pulling Danks was obviously the right move. I'm not watching the game, but it looks like Uribe pitched hit for him and got a hit at the top of the inning. Danks was at 85 pitches, and why not take him out now and let the bullpen take care of the rest instead of waiting for Danks to get lit up before pulling him? Too many times managers just wait for their starters to get hit hard before pulling them instead of doing so before the damage happens.

It was the right move. Stop letting your bets impact your opinions. It's like the people complaining about Willie bringing in Wagner all of last week. It's the right move, just doesn't work out always.

I GUARANTEE you would be complaining if they let Danks stay in and he gave up the two HR's.
