hey man, do you know if Pinnacle offer F1 race matchups?

Hi flava!
Pinnacle did not offer any bets this week on the GP, they did for the 1st GP of the year though.

I use moneybookers just for F1 betting since there is usually a big difference in bets and prices between different bookmakers. Making sure to get the best available offer is my basic strategy in handicapping the Formula 1.

Button blew up his engine in 2nd qualif session which will result in him drop back 10 places on the grid for the race. Bookmakers still offer 2.20 for Barichello to finish ahead of him in the race. A bit confused by this and not sure if they allready calculated this fact in the odds.

Gonna have a closer look into in and monitor some line movements before jumping on to it. Race H2H button vs Barrichello @ 2.20 for Barichello to finish ahead might be a solid pick.

Pick 14: Race H2H Button vs Barichello @ 2.20 (1 Unit)

Got some comfirmation on this bet and decided to go for it. Button will normally drop 10 places on the grid. So Barichello should start way ahead of him in the race. Button is usually faster when it comes down to driving 1 fast lap and Barichello is at least evenly matched when it comes down to the race. the previous 2 GP's had Button starting ahead of Button but Barrichello finishing ahead after the race. There are still a lot of problems with the balance of the car for both drivers which makes the chance of some kind of retirement in the race a little bigger. Button is getting way too much credit and Barichello not enough. Barichello in this spot at that price is defenatly worth a bet! 2.20 odds are still available at Bwin.

Made a mistake on the Rules about changing an engine, seems like it doesn't count anymore since this year during friday practices.
Checked the official F1 site before making the bet though, didn't really make that clear for me.

There are also restrictions on engine use. Each driver may use no more than one engine for two consecutive Grand Prix meetings. If an engine change is required ahead of qualifying at either meeting, the driver will drop ten places on the grid for that event. If the change is made after qualifying, the driver goes to the back of the grid.

Report on eurosport also stated that button has a 10 place penalty
Jenson Button endured a terrible session. After running outside the top ten for the opening hour, his Honda ground to a halt coming out of turn two with flames pouring from its engine bay, leaving the Briton slowest and facing a ten place penalty on the grid.

Guess I'll have to triple check thing next time.
For what it's worth, still think it not such a bad bet but I probably wouldn't have made it without thinking there was going to be a penalty.

Pick 15: David Coultard to Finish the Race @ 1.70 (1 Unit)

Coultard retired in both GP's so far, he made a rookie mistake during an attempt to overtake wurz in Australia and he had problems with his brakes in Malaysia. His team mate Webber was able to finish both races without problems and overall there were not too many retirements last 2 GP's.
1.70 odds for the most experianced driver in the field just to finish the race with a more then average reliable car is a must bet for me. After 2 retirements he'll have the main objective to get to the finish line in this race. available @ bwin

Pick 16: Qualif H2H Heidfeld vs Kubica @ 1.80 (1 Unit)

I think that Heidfeld is still the faster driver during qualification session. So far it's 2 - 0 this season on this bet. Heidfeld was also a bit faster in the last practice session. odds just came out at expekt and are worth the risk.
Qualif session starts in about 20 minutes, odds available at expekt

Pick 14: Race H2H Button vs Barichello @ 2.20 (1 Unit)
Pick 15: David Coultard to Finish the Race @ 1.70 (1 Unit)
Pick 16: Qualif H2H Heidfeld vs Kubica @ 1.80 (1 Unit) --> WON (+0.80 units)

:ok:
Nice to start the GP weekend with an easy winner, Heidfeld was more the 0.300 seconds faster then his team mate in the qualification session which is a lot in Formula 1 racing.

Barrichello qualified ahead of Button wich helps the bet for the race that I might reconcider once the new odds are out.

Coultard didn't perform and ended 21st. Don't know at the moment if this is a good or a bad thing for the allready placed bet for him to finish in the race.

Man I wish Pinnacle would offer some race matchups.

Should be interesting this week because Massa has been the worst driver in F1 so far this season with his stupid mistakes and I have not seen an aggressive grid driver like Lewis Hamilton since Jacques Villeneuve his rookie season. I think Lewis can win this thing but in the end, it will probably be Kimmi again.

It will be an interesting race in front, not touching the Ferrari vs Mclaren battle at the moment though.

Totally agree on Hamilton, I'm looking into the Race matchup Hamilton vs Alonso at the moment. No way he should be an 2.20 underdog unless he's on a completely different strategy.

Pick 17: Race H2H Alonso vs Hamilton @ 2.20 (1 Unit)

Hamilton is starting in 2nd place & Alonso in 4th. Both on the "dirty" side of the track which doesn't really help to make a good start on this circuit. In previous 2 GP's he started both from 4th position where he has proven to be able to take a really good start. He's also proven to be able to drive a good race and this on 2 circuits where he did have no experiance on and where he even clocked the fastest time during the race! Sakhir is a circuit he knows and it has shown in his lap times being remarkable faster then Alonso in Quilification session where he said he could even have done better. He is one of the rare natural talents in the formula 1 and he doesn't have the pressure of having to prove himself anymore as a rookie. Mclaren is a team that doesn't believe in team orders so there won't be any orders like ferrari in favour of the 1st driver.

Given all the facts, Hamilton should not be the underdog here and Alonso is getting a bit much too much credit as World Champion. 2.20 Odds are still available on Betway!

Free Money on this one !!

Betway is offering Race H2H Alonso vs Massa @ 2.10 -> (5 Units)
Unibet is offering Race H2H Alonso vs Massa @ 2.20 --> (5 Units)

Pick 18: Race H2H Alonso @2.20 vs Massa @2.10 (10Units)

Get it for as long as it is available, not going extremely high on these because you never know if they cancel it afterwards...

Betway has adjusted their odds by now on massa vs Alonso, 2.20 for hamilton is still available thouh.

bets so far for the race:
Pick 14: Race H2H Button vs Barichello @ 2.20 (1 Unit)
Pick 15: David Coultard to Finish the Race @ 1.70 (1 Unit)
Pick 17: Race H2H Alonso vs Hamilton @ 2.20 (1 Unit)
Pick 18: Race H2H Alonso +1unit vs Massa +0.50unit (0 Units)

Odds on Barrichello dropped to 1.95 , it's basicly a coin flip at the moment and I'm happy to take the 2.20 odds on that. Coultard had problems with his gear box, gonna keep an eye open for more news on that.
Still looking over some bets at the moment...

Bahrain GP Bets
Pick 14: Race H2H Button vs Barichello @ 2.20 (1 Unit) --> WON (+1.20 units)
Pick 15: David Coultard to Finish the Race @ 1.70 (1 Unit) --> LOST (- 1 unit)
Pick 16: Qualif H2H Heidfeld vs Kubica @ 1.80 (1 Unit) --> WON (+0.80 units)
Pick 17: Race H2H Alonso vs Hamilton @ 2.20 (1 Unit) --> WON (+1.20 units)
Pick 18: Race H2H Alonso +1unit vs Massa +0.50unit (0 Units) --> WON (+0.50 units)

Nice profit this GP, only loser was coultard who had problems with the usually very reliable renault engine. Easy win on Barichello because Button was out early. 2 solid picks with Heidfeld in qualif & Hamilton in the race. And some free money because of a bookmakers line error.

Units Bet = 15.2 units
Units Return = 20.118 unit

Average Stake = 0.90 units

Race 03 Bahrain GP Record: 4 - 1| +2.700 Units (+75% ROI)
Race 02 Malaysian GP Record: 4 - 2| +2.215 Units (+47% ROI)
Race 01 Australian GP Record: 3 - 3 | +0.003 Units (+0% ROI)

Pick 19: Race Finish in points Coultard / Finish outside points = No Bet (1 Unit) @ 2.647

Red Bull Racing had some technical problems during the 1st 3 races of the season, Coultard has yet to finish a race after making a rookie mistake in the Australia and having technical problems in last 2 races. They have showed during each Grand Prix to be more and more competable. Webber was able to qualify in the top 10 last race & Coultard cruised trough the field, and without his engine problems he would easely have taken points in that race which is quite impressive knowing he started dead last. 4 weeks have passed by and a lot of testing has been done to solve the problems they were having with the reliability of the car. They have also proven to be very competative with the rest of the field after David Coultard clocked the fastest laptime last week at the the circuit of Barcelona where the Grand Prix is held this weekend. I expect Red Bull Racing to come out strong this weekend. Odds on Bwin are way too high on this, and I'm taking David Coultard to finish in the points (0.41 units @ 4.00) & David Coultard to finish the race (0.59 units @ 1.70)

Making it 2.647 odds for him to finish in the top 8 and No Bet if he finishes outside the points.

Pick 20: Race Finish in points Webber / Finish outside points = No Bet (1 Unit) @ 1.993

I'm taking this bet for the same reason, I really expect Red Bull Racing to come out strong this weekend. With their new and tested Gearbox and the other made improvements they should be competitive with the best of the rest. Webber being a very good qualification driver and the circuit not having that many overtaking possibilities makes it more likely for him to finish strong then his team mate.
once again the odds are a bit too high and well worth the risk and I'm taking Mark Webber to finish in the points (~0.31 units @ 3.20) & Mark Webber to finish the race (~0.69 units @ 1.45)

Making it 1.993 odds for him to finish in the top 8 and No Bet if he finishes outside the points.

** Odds on previous bet have allready dropped to 2.461 by now, but are still overpriced.

First 2 Practice sessions have passed, the results give some kind of indication on how things are but should not be overrated. Both Red Bull cars did just fine finishing around the middle of the field & the odds on the 2 bets continue to drop which is always a good sign.

Coultard odds dropped from 2.647 to 2.200
Webber odds dropped from 1.993 to 1.791

I'm going to have a look into some more bets later tonight

Pick 21: Qualif H2H Jenson Button vs Alexander Wurz (1 Unit) @ 1.850

Honda is a team that's really struggeling at the moment, they have big problems to get a good car balance. Both the Drivers and the Techincal staff have already stated that there are some fundamental errors in the cars design which holds them back to produce better results. The previous qualification sessions have all been very dissapointing and they aren't expecting a lot of progress for this race. The williams is performing like expected this year. Both drivers tested some different configurations for the car in todays practice sessions. Rosberg clocking the 7th time & Wurz only finishing 15th because he was unable to drive a quick lap on new tyres because of the traffic on the track.
The williams is obviously a much faster car at the moment and since formula 1 is a 95% technical sport I have to go with Wurz on this one.
The results in practice sessions are generaly not to be taken very seriously in Formula 1. So far this season Button is leading the H2H 2 - 1 in Qualif sessions. Wurz made a mistake during his fast lap in australia & he had technical problems in Sepang. There were no problems during the qualif session in the last GP and Wurz was able to clock a much faster time then Button.
Button being faster in 2 of the 3 qualif sessions & him clocking a better time now during free session gives a completly wrong image of things which results in wrong odds. The Williams is much faster then the Honda and should have no probem the finish ahead in tomorrows qualification.
