a close friend has a very high position at Air Canada. Saw him yesterday and when i asked the extent of the damage he shook his head , paraphrasing ; its a mess. We are going at 50% capacity , financials are going to be awful

The death rate on older/sicker folks is 14%, that is a big enough number that they will stay home and they represent a huge bloc of travel spending.

Also, to echo my post #78, "nice little bounce" turned into the 3rd biggest % gain for the S&P since 2009. It is debatable what Sanders could actually get done in office but the market is definitely relieved to no longer have to mull it.

.........crazy buying at the close, u kdding me? the candles length added 1/4 in 10 min!!,short covering must have been huge . When the VIX is at these levels , crazy crazy.. green turns to red and red to green in a flash. Biggest thing that happned today was re-claiming the 200 sma, re-testing intre-day and back-up. dont think we're done re-testing it, lol

need vix below 15ish for calmer waters

well , the Bank of Canada followed the Fed's lead and cut 50 basis points. More to come on both sides of the border. Mortgage rates to drop, maybe get 5yr under 2%?lol. That should give local real estate bubbles a boost. Average detach in the GTA area? $1.4 million. True shit show.........heard today the Chinese are back and buynig blindly.

how does this end well?

Went to Costco today and they were completely sold out of water. Went to the grocery store after and saw several people buying multiple cases of water.

People are stocking up like for a blizzard

How are they buying blindly? I know Van/Tor put some pretty good policies in place to limit that and it seemed to be working, would be nice if it came to the states but money can move in a lot of different ways obviously.

why would you need water in a blizzard ? I have never lost water service, but I don't have a well.

Good call, I should've said like stockpiling food before a blizzard. The other question is why do people need bottled water for a pandemic. The water will still be on.

My Costco said they are getting 3 shipments of water a day and cant keep up with demand. I never saw their water aisle completely empty like today

Yes but employees of water treatment plants may not be able to get to work for a couple of weeks...As for me I am not worried,if it happens it happens...

Lost 20% of my value in the last year in four days last week. Decided to stay in the game with my aggressive stocks and made back half of that since Monday. Unless you need your money in stocks back quickly I hope everyone just stays in the game and doesn't panic as is in the end you will be fine.

How much of last week’s market had to do with the lead up to Super Tuesday and anticipating Sanders would be the Dem nominee?

$9.80 now.

I'd like to know why it dropped so radically in 2000. This company has been around for 40 years

I think the increase is all speculative false value increase anyways. People aren't buying cause of past earnings. They are looking at future earnings.
