pat , you're missing th point , re-read everything i posted..its not about the pizza .. the segment basically is an outlet to present the greatest of all time.. next year maybe its a different corporation.. right now the greatest of all time is presented by papa johns and OH BY THE WAY .. they have a meatlovers pizza , go grab one

metro you make some compelling arguments but is the pizza even good?

If it isn't then it is possible those guys are overrated as well.

This is the point I find ridiculous. Papa Johns wants a popularity contest to win them sales.
Stop comparing it to GOAT talk. Not equivocal.

Patsfan perhaps except i think its slotted not on quality but rather VOLUME / Commitment of presentating the player they're honoring... sort of like the bowl system.. maybe the name changes but you know whats at stake.. tommy copper from all the reviews I've read etc is an extraordinary product quality wise.. tho the commitment level from the firm presentating Favre is about right with what you think favre is in reality.. hence tommy Copper is presenting Brett Favre .. cut thru the status to noise ratio of the commercial and you have been presented the greatest of all time thanks to papa john in the virtual National championship bowl game.. tommy copper is presenting Brett Farve in what would be i dunno the liberty Bowl? or perhaps the virtual tommy copper bowl

All your saying is that Papa John spent more money on Peyton Manning than Tommy Copper had to spend, they couldn't afford Brady neither, hence they went with Brett Favre.
Or maybe they find Favre better in front of the camera than Brady. That may be the case as well. So naturally Favre>Brady.

tommy copper didn't have a leg to stand on as far as presenting/honoring Brady as a current top 10 active player.

Yeah, I guess I didn't think of it like that. The message is subliminal but the viewer knows what they are seeing.

Did you ever look into that Katy Perry scoop I gave you?

Thank goodness those viewers aren't deciding who the greatest of all time is.
Thats what the great RX is for.

fanatic , based on the volume and commitment those are perhaps the equivalent of a an ACC regular season conference game (in FOOTBALL!)
albeit on a thursday night espn1 so worth it financially for Brady.. those are mostly print magazine and spokesman type deals , not the same as behemoth campaign papa johns put together peaking at the super bowl presenting the greater of all time

They're guy was in the game....perfect timing for Papa John's. Have you seen a Papa John's commercial since? I have not.

Look, this thread is calling Brady the GOAT. Probably because he has 4 SB's in a FA error where its very difficult to win year in and year out. Advertising has ZERO to do with what these two did on the football field.
If you want to call Pey Pey better, I have no problem with that, but to suggest that ratings on TV equates to greatness on the football field you've lost me and I'm sure a few others along the way.

Fanatic..everyone watching those commercials knew that they were being treated to something MUCH bigger than a pizza ad.. The greatest active and living former qb of all time were being honored and presented to us, and oh by the way there is a meatlovers special at ya local papa johns, satisfying corporate needs of the nfl, the networks and papa john which i donot have animosity about since they were the ones responsable for treating all of us to the special presentation of manning and more montana

I watch these guys play sports don't buy shit cause they are on a commercial and don't idolize any of them

I never understood that either. I really don't know who endorses what brands and I sure as hell would never buy a product based on an athlete or really anyone being in a commercial. They are in commercials to make even more money than they already do. Manning's first " huge hit" commercial was the "cut that meat" and I don't even remember the name of the food/ brand he was pitching. I never buy Oreos and Manning pitched them. I had Direct TV and cancelled that. I think Papa Johns pizza is one of the worst chain pizzas around.

But you know I love me some Peyton. Haha

Kids are probably the only ones that care about athletes in commercials and they are not even the ones buying the products. They could get real actors and actual humor in commercials and people would buy the same if not more.

Then you have the shoe game. I never understood that. People buy Jordan's because why??? I swear the homeboys care more about what shoes they are wearing than the house they live in.

The nfl , the networks and the fans were all winners .. Pats fans are the only ones that were complaining about Manning being selected over Brady by the market researchers, football evaluatots and nfl insiders ( hall of famers that are paid consultants)

Totally agree lol.

I've probably done it with ONE product, Nike golf balls. I started using them after Tiger endorsed them. Would not have if he hadn't.

But other than that I have not seen one athlete endorse something and say to myself I have to have that now.
