Exactly, when the Canes O moved the ball in the first 1/2 there D was fresh and made stops.

I am talking about second 1/2 namely the 4th Q when FL got most of there points.

Canes had a few very short drives which gave FL great field position as well as kept there D on the field.

the reason florida scored points 2nd half had nothing to do with a fresh miami defense and everything to do with the adjustments florida made to miami's blitz packages

either way, there is nothing wrong with being a team that scores a lot of points in the 4th quarter. being able to finish football games and close teams out in the 4th is a strength, not a weakness

Um I think Florida has 3 heisman trophies and Miami has 2. What was the point to the Heisman question? To point out that Florida has more Heismans? I don't get it. You are wanting to show that Florida has more heisman trophy winners??? That's kind of stupid!!!! LOL. You're a dumb ass!!! How many does Florida have???? hahahahaha. Dumbass

:missingte:ohno::tongue2:

You can't even read dumbass, it was a comparasion to OSU.

How many national titles has Florida won compared to OSU?
Heisman Trophies?
1st Round Picks?
Number of Players Currently in the NFL?
Number of players drafted?
Number of HOFers?
Number of Undefeated Seasons?

I will save you the time you, you do not exceed OSU in any.

OSU has 5NCs, but only one in the last 40 years. WTF does that have to do with anything. That's like ND. Even Alabama has more titles more recently than that.

OSU, playing in the SEC in the last 40 years wouldn't have shit.

Im going by memory here, but UF is a top 50 school (public and private) in the nation and I believe #2 public behing Michigan. I also believe it has the largest number of national merit scholars of any public school and #2 of all schools behind Harvard. UF's MBA program is ranked in the 25 of all programs in the nation.

Just like Boxslayer said another thread when comparing the Pac 10 and SEC, why stop at 2001, why not go all the way back.

So, why not do the same here.

This idiot Gmoney acts like Florida won a national title since they beat Miami for the 1st time in 7 tries.

Florida is a great program, but they are not Miami, not even close.

But the retard Gmoney is acting like this scout.com. You want to brag about something, then be prepared to face all facts.

Florida, the speed demons themselves that lost to the slow Big 10 last season in the bowl game.

Look every team has ups and downs.

OSU, Nebraska, USC, Notre Dame, Miami, FSU, PSU, Tennessee, LSU, but this idiot acts like Florida has won the past 15 national titles and they are UNC women's soccer.

i wouldnt mind bigtendominator...he's not really contributing anything to handicapping, he's just still VERY bitter about OSU getting their asses handed to them by Florida and i'm pretty sure florida is his least favorite school in the country ever since. (or maybe he just despises gmoney)

Ok. Let's see. This thread is about Miami and Florida. But suit yourself. Ohio State is one of my favorite teams seeing how they are directly responsible for 2 of or last 3 CFB and CBB NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. And just how many did your black eyes have since 2005? As many as you have common sense. None! I think every team celebrates when the find out they get to play OSU for a National Championship. Thats every sports fans dream. EASY MONEY!!! Stay in the present with all you jawing. Who won the last Heisman!!! Who is the only Sophmore ever to win a Heisman!!! Yeah, He was on the team that torched your ass!!! I love to talk about the buffalo bills of CFB. What a joke of a team I saw last Saturday. I guess all your Heismans, and NFL Players and Draft picks couldn't help you every time you play the Gators. Way to play tough against Ohio. You guys are so awesome.

i wouldnt sweat gmoney. he's a troll.

floridas tradition and history does not match Miami's, or some of the great storied programs in college football.

however, florida has been a sleeping giant for a very long time. but you have to have the right coach. spurrier woke them up, and urban meyer is giving them a cup of coffee.

miami has the past, but i promise you they do not have the future.

miami loses money with their football program, florida does not. SEC signed a new TV deal, florida makes millions every home game, their facilities were upgraded yet again, and they have a very sharp head coach that is a program-changing coach

you can tell when you have someone special to run a program that will turn it around. they make noise immediately. meyer has done that - there is no doubt he is the right man for the job.

miami, however, will be looking for another head coach soon. randy shannon doesnt have "it".

poor head coach, a program that loses money, vs the biggest public school in florida with the largest alumni base with much better facilities, much better TV exposure, much better current success, etc, florida is the program of the future and miami is the program of the past

miami will be tooting their horn of past success for a long time because they will not ever have another dynasty for a long time. sure, they will still put out a few kenny phillips, calais campbell's etc and continue to produce some 1st rounders, but overall, their program will never challenge for titles year in and year out like they used to

college football is changing and miami wont have the resources necessary to move forward with modern football

Box,

Always like your pov. My point is, we know UF is great team, one a handful of National Title contenders.

I have been guilty of being a homer on this board, but as someone said earlier, it is best if review the game and say why or why not Miami/Florida will or will not be good plays during the season.

This statement is very true and missed by Miami's administration. They don't have the fan support nor do they spend on the facilities.

While both Gville and Coral Gables have beautiful campuses (Florida is a better your university atmosphere and Miami on sheer looks), but this is eventually going to be the downfall of Miami.

You could play in front of 90K or 29K, where do you think most are going to go?

I can only go by years that I've been alive. I was born in 1972. I have only seen your team win 1 national championship. You've only won 1 in the past 38 years. Pathetic

LOL. No way Florida wins the NC. Not a chance???!!! Idiot. Thats the same kind of logic that says "Good news. He (Beanie Wells) should rest this weekend and get himself ready for USC. They don't need him against Ohio."---------They really didn't need him. Just some luck to escape with that game!!!! Are you related to MIMS and a Ohio State Blackeye too?? To say Florida doesn't have a chance to win the NC is like saying one of your picks is a lock which nothing is. I can't wait to pull this thread back up in about 4 months after Florida wins the National Championship. Don't be shy to come back in the thread and eat crow!!!!

They still won the game by 12 so yes it was smart.

And I guarantee they don't win the NC. I will give you 8/1 odds on it if you want, and that is better than you'll find from any book. If you're so confident you should easily be able to accept that. I will let you bet as much as $500 to win $4000, but no more than that. Let me know if you're interested since we all know Florida can't lose at all this year.

These players don’t care what tuition cost they are going to school for free…

In the mid 90's everyone thought Miami was done when they went on sanctions etc. and
they came back stronger than ever. They were in the dumps for years and came back to put together some great teams.

FL and FSU have always had more money, better facilities, more alum etc. and it did not make a difference in the past. All these things help recruiting and the Canes are not having problems getting the players that they want.

Canes still have south beach, bitches everywhere, the ability to train with Ed Reed, CP, Gore, Andre Johnson, Ray Lewis etc. in the summer. They have no issues attracting high caliber players...

i was there in person and then had the luxury of rewatching the game on tape

florida stopped themselves more than people realize. live at the game, i am smacking my forehead everytime florida had a guy trip over his feet, or have a personal foul penalty backing

then i come home and hear the announcers laying this miami youth spin, and miami outplaying florida angle on thick and i knew i would come onto different sites and people would have the same thoughts as those that announced the game.

miami had a good gameplan coming into the game and florida didnt adjust 1st half, and that is really the bottom line.

miami definitely brought some different blitzes and had tebow running around there a bit. and there was one drive in the game where i thought tebow was flustered and made a throw a little too quick in the pocket.

but overall, florida shot themselves in the foot. and that is probably to be expected in the 2nd game of the season, and the first time of the year you face a good defense.

meyers post game comments summed it up: they should have started using play action earlier, they should have made their adjustments earlier.

1st drive of 3q for gators was 3 and out. but on the 2nd drive they drive 40 yards down the field and on 3rd down and short demps trips over his feet after a completion in front of the first down marker and they are forced to punt after a couple of 1st downs. 3rd drive of the 3Q gators drive 86 yards down the field, drive takes 5 and a half minutes, when they get to the goalline, the quarter ends, and the game went into the 4th with the score 9-3 and they punched it in to start the 4th.

next drive started at 10 minutes left in the 4th, and gators drive 95 yards for the TD. next drive they get a 42 yard TD pass called back for illegal procedure. next drive they kick the FG.

so besides the very first drive of the 3rd quarter, UF moved the ball at will the entire 2nd half - minus a shoestring trip and an illegal procedure.

SO let's sum this up and move on. My OPINION of course!

Miami comes out with a great game plan first half. They disguise some blitz packages and pressure Tebow right up the gut. They take the Gators out of rhythm. Florida leads 9-3 going into the 2nd half.

Florida comes out 2nd half with a quick 3 and out, but after that, they basically move the ball at will the rest of the game, every offensive possession from there on out.

Miami never crossed the 30 yard line offensively and the closest they came to scoring was a 50 yard field goal.

It's easy to get caught up in announcer hype, but Miami wont always have such a great game plan heading into every game defensively, and I think a lot of bettors will overvalue the Canes moving forward and undervalue Florida.

This is actually your typical formula for a rivalry game.

Laughing my balls off. Sorry, in my earlier post I meant to write Zealous fans, not jealous fans.

Yes, Miami has had some great history, I wasn't knocking that. Just funny how it set some people off.

Box,

I watched the game without sound in a bar/club. I was not swayed by what the announcers said b/c I had no clue what they were saying. I form my own opinions based on what I see…

We all see the game different with our favoritism. We can just agree to disagree…

BTW, I think this game being early hurt Miami way more the FL. Freshman QB getting his first start.

Take care...

The game being early hurts every team that loses and then wines about it. How about its better to lose early than late in the year. Miami wouldn't beat florida early, late or any this year. If Florida made adjustments earlier in the game than it would of been more of a blow out and we wouldn't even be having this conversation. Bottome line is Miami's offense sucks and they have sucked on offense for a long time now. Have fun the the sorry ass ACC conference.
