you could see most of last season that he was not as effective as the year before, teams catch on after seeing you for a year,he just was not allowed to do the same things last year as the one before
He is not worth the money. This is a QB who still has a lot of maturing to do as a passer. Watch the game film on him, he locks in on his initial read & either forces it to him or takes off with the ball. He also has issues with changing speed & arch on the ball when necessary. A prime example would be the deciding INT in the NFC Title Game. If he throws it with arch to the back of the pylons like he was supposed to, they go to the SB. Just 45 minutes of game tape & I could break down his flaws. He is not even worth the guaranteed portion of the contract at this point in his career.
They will regret this deal in the long term.
Nope, impossible, when you rely on defense as much as they do, your window is 3 years tops. Then they lose small pieces like Chancellor, Irvin, etc because they cant pay everyone. These guys are still on their rookie contracts and even overated Wilson will demand more than $850,000 or whatever he makes.
Good defenses never last. i don't know every starter by heart but when they overpay Wilson, others will need to be cut. Look throughout history, good defenses dont last long in the salary cap era. Not to mention, it is Seattle, they are not meant to be good. Sherman will get hurt. Good corners never are good corners year after year after year.

after reading this I don't think is a bad deal:
As the details have trickled out, we know it’s a bit more complicated. Last night, Pro Football Talk reported that only $13.073 million of the deal is guaranteed at signing. Kaepernick’s signing bonus was significantly smaller than several of those other quarterbacks had in their monster deals, and it’s because the structure is quite a bit different. According to PFT, the guarantees in his deal switch from injury-only to fully guaranteed on April 1 of each year.
That essentially means the Niners have the choice to move on from Kaepernick before the start of each season. You can see why the front office was reportedly ecstatic about the deal. If Kaepernick turns into the superstar they hope he can be, they’re paying market value for a top-tier quarterback and won’t mind footing the bill. If he doesn’t, they can move on whenever they want. It’s sort of similar to the situation Tampa Bay had with Darrelle Revis last year; the flexibility in that deal made it universally lauded. San Francisco has been making smart moves since Trent Baalke and Jim Harbaugh showed up. This seems like another one.
You realize Harbaugh took away his running plays until the last few weeks of the season, right? He started the year with Boldin as the only trustworthy WR other than Davis who missed games. Crabtree wasn't around for much of the year who is Kaep's favorite option. Without the threat of him running and minus his top WR for almost the entire year I'd say 3200 yards, 21 TDs, and 8 INTs is pretty solid considering he's not a dropback passer but was forced to be one to keep him healthy.
One more thing about Kaep... he plays in the best defensive division in the NFL and put up 20 TDs and just 4 INTs against teams not named the Seahawks. He's one of the top 7 QBs in football IMO.
