This is O/T but I think that is a little overblown. Not like 2 high safety was invented yesterday. I think it is playing a role as defenses get more analytical in their approach but I'd say the main reason scoring is down is just because QB play is down.

A lot of guys who used to post big #'s have hit a wall this year, others are hurt, others retired....The saints don't have a QB anymore, Watson is suspended, Brady/Rodgers/Wilson/Ryan all seem on fumes and have greatly declined both due to their own performance + team situation deteriorating. Lamar sucked last year. Herbert has had OL/WRs coming and going. Murray didn't have his #1 WR until Thursday.

Is the cover 2 cheat code working vs Allen, Mahomes, Hurts, Burrow? Well, not really. All are playing as well as ever.

Think we're just at a point right now where lot of QB situations aren't great.
Maybe I respect your analysis but I do believe there is a correlation btwn defenses using cover 2 much more often and the decrease in passing yards

I thought the parity last year was incredible

This year has taken it up another notch

Not really any different than any other year past 20 or so 3-5 top or elite teams and everyone else
Even teams like Vikings and Giants with 5-1 6-1 records no one is scared of

Definitely, I wasn't saying there isn't.

But I think most of it is because QB play just down. Lot of these old guys on the edge, some other guys dealing w/ key pieces out.

Giants could easily be 3 and 4

Nah
Bills, KC, Eagles
That is it

Even Eagles have no track record but likely an elite
Not saying we won't see Giants be that but they haven't really been impressive and also have no track record

The dominance of Cover 2 has caused passing yards to go down across the league
I think it's capped big plays a little bit, but hasn't had much effect overall. A consequence of that defense is more over middle in shallow passing range, plus opportunities for running games. Could make games shorter/fewer points, etc.

Lot of "bad" teams are playing well though. Just a ton of balance.

It'll probably separate a bit in November

I see a couple great but still flawed teams, then 2-3 very good teams, then a whole lotta parity

Yeah I think Eagles are a little behind KC/Buffalo. They feel like a college juggernaut beating up on juggernauts but almost waiting to be exposed. Kinda like a Lincoln Riley Oklahoma team

Think you will see either the Niners or Rams make a run towards that group. Both have some injury concerns — think SF more likely to get hot.

Bengals are creeping back up into the picture too in AFC I think, but got a ways to go to be in group with KC/Buffalo

Think you’ll see Giants/Cowboys/Vikings fade a bit, though I kinda like Dallas if McCarthy keeps to running the ball

I'm kinda pissed
All 4 guys left had Ravens 1st game like me

Unfortunately I had the Browns ultimate choke against Jets
But thats survivor

Haven't seen anyone of those guys make 1 post in the forum I don't think
Would have been nice to see an actual poster who contributes take it
Can't disagree here

Also I teamed with a few guys in Circa contest and we got knocked out taking Jacksonville vs Houston recently

Imagine putting your faith in the Jaguars ?‍♂️

Justin Fields still wasn't that great except for running the ball.
Atleast it wasn’t a boring game to watch…. I’ll take it

Bengals have their mojo back. Fun to watch that team again. They also figured out how to get Chase going again. Bengals will make noise again this year. As a Ravens fan, I hate to admit that.

I think they have two or three new offensive linemen and as you know that takes time

Looks like they are finally starting to gel
