Armadillo: Monday's six-pack

Westgate Super Contest (1,727 entrants-- prize pool is $2.5M)
six most popular picks in Week 11 season record: 34-31-2

6) Broncos +1 (404)-- Osweiler getting first NFL start in his fourth year- W.

5) Vikings -1 (409)-- Minnesota covered its last eight games- L.

4) Bengals +5 (410)-- Long trip on short week after first loss- W.

3) Packers +1 (414)-- Lot of opinions on this game, both ways- W.

2) Jets -2 (514)-- Fitzpatrick had left thumb operated on nine days ago- L.

1) Cowboys even (515)-- As you can tell, Romo is back at QB- W.

**********

Armadillo: Monday's List of 13: Wrapping up a sports Sunday.......

13) Broncos 17, Bears 15-- Brock Osweiler is first QB in NFL history to get his first win on his birthday; he managed game well enough, and Denver defense stopped the game-tying 2-point play with 0:24 left. Why doesn't the media call Peyton Manning out for not being with his teammates? Andrew Luck was in Atlanta with the Colts.

12) Colts 24, Falcons 21-- George Allen always said "More games are lost than won." Falcons gave this game to Indy- they were up 21-14 with 10:20 to play, had ball deep in their own territory but Ryan just threw a horrible, terrible pick-6 that tied the game. Falcons are 1-4 since starting season 5-0 and they haven't played a division road game yet-- they play those three road games in consecutive weeks next month.

11) Panthers 44, Redskins 16-- Carolina scored five TDs in this game; three of them were on drives of 31-24-11 yards, as Washington turned ball over five times- they never got inside the Panthers' red zone. A key to winning is getting easier scores, just like in any other sport. Carolina is 10-0 but is an underrated team.

10) Lions 18, Raiders 13-- Detroit scored a safety with 7:31 left and never gave the ball back to Oakland, running 13 plays for 66 yards after the free kick and taking a knee inside Raiders' five-yard line as game ended. Lions are first team in NFL history to score exactly 18 points in consecutive games.

9) Cowboys 24, Dolphins 14-- Dallas held Fish to 210 yards, scored a defensive TD, ran ball for 166 yards, snapping 7-game skid in process as Romo returned. Dallas was 7-14 on 3rd down and won despite losing field position by 11 yards. Dolphins' next coach is going to have to decide whether to hitch his career on Tannehill's ability to be an NFL QB-- didn't work out too well for the last coach.

8) Ravens 16, Rams 13-- You know when you watch a great game, someone says "It is a shame either side had to lose"? This game was quite the opposite as in, "Too bad either team had to win", just an awful offensive game. Rams gagged this game away in epic fashion and Baltimore lost Flacco for year with a torn ACL. Rams must go back to Nick Foles at QB-- they also need to find an offensive line one of these decades.

7) College basketball doings for a Sunday:
Duke 86, Georgetown 84-- Duke is 19-3 in last 22 games in NYC.
Purdue 85, Florida 70-- Boilermakers have pair of solid Twin Towers.
Oregon 73, Valparaiso 67-- Crusaders are angling for at-large consideration.
Miami 85, Butler 75-- Finals of Puerto Rico tournament
East Tennessee State 69, Georgia Tech 68-- Biggest upset of the day.
St Mary's 78, Stanford 61-- First win in five tries for WCC against the Pac-12.

6) Texans 24, Jets 17-- Houston won four of last five games after a 1-4 start; they're tied for first place in AFC South despite starting three different QBs in ten games. As for the Jets, they're +12 in turnovers in their five wins, -10 in five losses. As for Ryan Fitzpatrick, he has now started 47 games the last four years, while playing for a new team every year-- what a unique career he has had.

5) Buccaneers 45, Eagles 17-- I have a buddy who has Eagles season tickets; he has to be wondering why Jeff Lurie gave Chip Kelly the keys to the franchise? At 4-6, the Eagles are 2-3 at home, lost three of last four games overall and gave up 521 yards to a Buccaneer offense that had scored two TDs on 20 drives in its previous two games. Sad thing is, Kelly could still get paid a ton to go back to college right now. Why?

4) Chiefs 33, Chargers 3-- KC has won four games in row, San Diego is in free fall; you lose 33-3 at home and you wind up unemployed. Funny how the three teams on the move (Raiders-Rams-Chargers) have now all lost at least three in row, as they're not being helped by not knowing where they'll be living at this time next year.

3) Seahawks 29, 49ers 13-- First time this year Seattle won when allowing other side to score TD on offense; they're 0-5 when allowing more than 13 points. Not sure how the 49ers justify running Colin Kaepernick out of town; guy won a lot for them.

2) Packers 30, Vikings 13-- NFC North race is tied with six weeks to go; going back to the Teddy Bridgewater thing from two weeks ago, he ran with the ball again in this game and a Green Bay player narrowly missed taking his head off with a dive, but no one said a word. You can't just slide and expect guys flying around at great speed to just stop themselves and not hit the guy. You don't want to get hit? Don't run.

1) Cardinals 34, Bengals 31-- Arizona led 28-14 with 12:00 left, but Bengals tied it with 1:03 left, before Redbirds kicked winning FG with 0:02 left. Cincinnati lost for second week in row after an 8-0 start. Think about it: Bruce Arians didn't get a head coaching job in the NFL until he was 60 and he is one of the league's best.

NBA roundup: Warriors start season 15-0

DENVER -- Guard Klay Thompson scored 21 points, guard Stephen Curry had 19 points and seven assists, and the Golden State Warriors entered the NBA record books with a 118-105 win over the Denver Nuggets on Sunday night.

The Warriors are the third NBA team to start the season 15-0 and the first defending champion to do so. The 1948-49 Washington Capitals and the 1993-94 Houston Rockets also began with 15 straight wins. The Rockets went on to win their first of two consecutive NBA titles that season.

Golden State will go for the record at home Tuesday against the Lakers.

Forward Darrell Arthur, who started because forward Kenneth Faried was out with a sprained left ankle, led Denver with a season-high 21 points. Forward Danilo Gallinari and guard Will Barton had 19 points each and guard Emmanuel Mudiay had 17 points and eight assists for the Nuggets (6-8).

Curry took just 16 shots for his season low in points, but the Warriors didn’t need the MVP to hand the Nuggets their third straight loss. He scored nine points in the third quarter when the Warriors extended their halftime lead to 91-79.

Trail Blazers 107, Lakers 93

LOS ANGELES -- Damian Lillard scored 30 points, dished out a career-high 13 assists and grabbed six rebounds, and Portland defeated Los Angeles at Staples Center.

Lillard scored at least 30 for the fourth time in six meetings between the two clubs. CJ McCollum scored 19 points and recorded five assists, while Mason Plumlee finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Trail Blazers who beat the Lakers for the six consecutive time. They have won five in a row at Staples.

Jordan Clarkson scored 19 points and Kobe Bryant had 18 points on 6-of-22 shooting to lead the Lakers, who have lost three in a row and seven of the last eight. Julius Randle added 13 points and 13 rebounds. D'Angelo Russell had 13 points, nine rebounds and six assists for the Lakers.

Raptors 91, Clippers 80

LOS ANGELES -- DeMarre Carroll and DeMar DeRozan scored 21 points apiece as Toronto posted a victory over struggling Los Angeles.

Toronto forward Luis Scola added 20 points and eight rebounds, and Kyle Lowry contributed 13 points, 10 assists and three steals as the Raptors beat the Clippers for the third straight time, all by double-digit margins.

J.J. Redick scored 17 points, and Chris Paul had 13 points and 11 assists as the Clippers lost for the third straight time and seventh in nine games. Blake Griffin scored just nine points.

Thunder 117, Mavericks 114

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Guard Russell Westbrook had 31 points and 11 assists to lead Oklahoma City past Dallas.

Forward Serge Ibaka collected 16 points, nine rebounds for the Thunder. Guards Anthony Morrow and Dion Waiters added 14 points.

Guard Deron Williams led the Mavericks with 20 points and six assists. Guard Wesley Matthews added 18 points while forward Dirk Nowitzki scored 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting.

Pelicans 122, Suns 116

NEW ORLEANS -- Forward Anthony Davis scored 32 points, grabbed a season-high 19 rebounds and nailed a critical 3-pointer from the left of the key with 54.5 seconds left to power New Orleans over Phoenix.

Forward Ryan Anderson scored 29 points and guard Eric Gordon added 20 points as New Orleans improved to 3-11. Point guard Ish Smith added 17 points and eight assists.

Guard Eric Bledsoe scored 29 points to lead the Suns. Backcourt mate Brandon Knight added 19 points.

Nets 111, Celtics 101

NEW YORK -- Center Brook Lopez had 23 points and 10 rebounds and forward Joe Johnson scored 10 of his 17 points in the second quarter while leading Brooklyn past Boston.

The Nets also received 22 points from guard Jarrett Jack and avenged a loss sustained at Boston 48 hours prior.

The Celtics received 27 points each from guards Avery Bradley and Isaiah Thomas. Guard Evan Turner added 13 off the bench for Boston.

NEW YORK KNICKS (8-6) at MIAMI HEAT (8-4)
Tip-off: Monday, 7:35 p.m. ET
Sportsbook.ag Line: Miami -5, Total 192

The Knicks will be going for their fifth straight victory when they head to Miami and take on the Heat Monday night.

New York has caught fire recently, winning four straight games and covering in its past seven as well. The Knicks have not only been winning, but they have been doing so on the road. The team has come away with road victories at Oklahoma City and Houston in its past two games respectively.

Miami, however, has also been playing well as of late. The Heat have won two straight games and five of their past six despite failing to cover in their past four contests. 10 of Miami’s past 11 games have gone Under the total, and that is something to look into heading into this one.

The Heat have dominated this series in recent years, going 6-1 SU and ATS when facing the Knicks over the past three seasons and 3-0 SU and ATS when playing as the host in that time.

Bettors backing New York in this game will point to the fact that the Knicks are an absurd 7-0 ATS as a road underdog this season. The team is also facing a Miami team that is 1-12 ATS after having won three of its past four games over the past two years.

The Knicks are, however, 0-9 ATS after successfully covering the spread in seven or more consecutive games since 1996. Both teams will be entering this game at close to full strength, though.

The Knicks have been extremely hot lately and PF Kristaps Porzingis (13.2 PPG, 8.8 RPG, 1.5 BPG) is quickly emerging as one of the top candidates for Rookie of the Year. The forward was absolutely amazing in New York’s victory in Houston, finishing with 24 points, 14 rebounds and seven blocks in 36 minutes of play. He is now averaging 16.2 PPG, 8.4 RPG and 2.0 BPG over the past five contests and will need to use his length to hold his own in a matchup with Chris Bosh on Monday.

With Porzingis’ emergence, SF Carmelo Anthony (22.6 PPG, 7.2 RPG, 3.3 APG) has had a lot less pressure to deal with. Anthony was in foul trouble against the Rockets, scoring just 14 points in 25 minutes of action. If the same thing had happened a year ago, it would be extremely unlikely that the Knicks came away with a victory but the supporting cast is much improved.

SG Arron Afflalo (12.7 PPG, 3.8 RPG) will be an x-factor in Monday’s game, as he’ll need to go toe-to-toe with Dwyane Wade. Afflalo did not back down from his matchup with James Harden, finishing with 16 points, six rebounds and three assists in 35 minutes of play. A similar performance would put the Knicks in great shape in this one.

The Heat have won two straight games and five of their past six and C Hassan Whiteside (14.8 PPG, 11.1 RPG, 4.8 BPG) is a huge reason for that. Over the past five contests, Whiteside is averaging 15.0 PPG, 11.4 RPG and an unreal 6.0 BPG. He has been protecting the rim and will need to continue to be a reliable defensive presence moving forward.

SG Dwyane Wade (18.6 PPG, 4.6 APG, 3.2 RPG, 1.3 SPG) has looked as good as ever for Miami over the past two games, averaging 25.5 PPG, 6.0 RPG, 5.0 APG and 2.5 SPG in those contests. Wade has played over 30 minutes in three straight contests and will likely do the same against the Knicks on Monday.

PF Chris Bosh (18.1 PPG, 9.7 RPG, 1.3 BPG) is the guy that will be matched up with Porzingis for Miami. Bosh is averaging 20.2 PPG, 9.6 RPG and 1.8 BPG over the past five contests and really looks like himself again after a rough 2014-2015 year. He will need to play well on both sides of the floor against the Knicks forward, as he is one of the hottest players in the league and the Heat can’t afford to be torched by him.

PHOENIX SUNS (7-6) at SAN ANTONIO SPURS (10-3)
Tip-off: Monday, 8:35 p.m. ET
Sportsbook.ag Line: San Antonio -8.5, Total: 197

The Spurs try to stay perfect at home when they entertain the heavy underdog Suns on Monday night.

Phoenix (8-5 ATS) is wrapping up a three-game road trip where it shot 51% FG in Friday's 114-107 win at Denver, but made only 39% FG two days later in a 122-116 loss at New Orleans.

San Antonio (8-5 ATS) is a perfect 6-0 SU at home this year where it allows a mere 85.3 PPG and has held four of six visitors to 83 points or less. This includes a 92-82 win over Memphis on Saturday.

The Suns are just 1-9 SU in their past 10 trips to south Texas, but are an even 4-4-2 ATS during this span. The Spurs also hold a 15-5 SU advantage (10-8-2 ATS) in the past 20 meetings overall in this series. This includes three straight victories last season, with the final two coming in blowout fashion (101-74 and 107-91).

Both teams provide plenty of reasons to boost bettor confidence on Monday, as Phoenix is 45-25 ATS after an ATS loss over the past three seasons, and is 18-6 ATS on the road versus good passing teams (23+ APG) in this same timeframe.

However, San Antonio is 51-29 ATS versus dominant rebounding teams (5+ RPG margin) under head coach Gregg Popovich and is also 50-33 ATS versus good three-point shooting teams (36%+ threes) in the past three seasons.

The only significant injury for either team is Spurs star PF LaMarcus Aldridge, who is questionable for Monday's game due to a sprained ankle.

Phoenix has a high-powered offense that likes to push the pace with 106.5 PPG on 44.2% FG and a blistering 39.5% threes. This long-range accuracy has been even more impressive on the road (41.8% threes), but the team shoots a paltry 42% FG overall in games away from home. The offense has really been clicking in the past five games with 110.4 PPG, including 115.0 PPG on the current three-game road trip.

The Suns are propelled by their backcourt of Eric Bledsoe (23.2 PPG, 5.8 APG, 2.0 SPG) and Brandon Knight (21.7 PPG, 5.2 APG, 4.6 RPG, 1.5 SPG) who are shooting 39% and 41%, respectively, from three-point range. Bledsoe posted his eighth straight 20-point game on Sunday when he lit up the Pelicans for 29 points (7-of-15 FG, 4-of-8 threes, 11-of-12 FT), seven rebounds and six assists, but he also had five turnovers and five fouls. Knight has also been scoring in bunches with 19+ points in four straight games, but made only 5-of-18 shots on Sunday and has nearly as many turnovers (14) as assists (17) over the past three contests.

When Phoenix feeds the paint, the ball usually goes to PF Markieff Morris (12.4 PPG, 5.3 RPG), but he is shooting a dismal 37% FG and 27% threes this season. But Morris contributed a strong 17 points and eight boards on Sunday, and the potential absence of LaMarcus Aldridge could allow for another big night on Monday.

The Suns are not a bad defensive team with 102.6 PPG allowed on 45.3% FG and 33.2% threes. Although they have been much more generous on the road with 109.0 PPG allowed on 46.3% FG, host teams are making a meager 27.5% threes when entertaining Phoenix.

San Antonio averages a modest 100.4 PPG this season, but rarely takes a bad shot, with 25.5 assists per game leading to 47.3% FG and 36.3% threes. The Spurs have leaned mostly on SF Kawhi Leonard for points, as he leads the team with 21.3 PPG on 50% FG and 45% threes. The 2014-15 NBA Defensive Player of the Year also has 7.4 RPG, 1.7 SPG and 1.3 BPG this season.

PF LaMarcus Aldridge is averaging only 15.3 PPG on 43% FG this year, which are well below his career averages of 19.3 PPG and 48% FG. But he's also grabbing 9.9 boards per game, and had double-doubles in two straight games before missing Saturday's affair with a sprained ankle.

If Aldridge can't return for Monday, C Tim Duncan (10.8 PPG, 8.2 RPG, 1.8 BPG) will take some more shots in the post. Duncan had the first zero-rebound game of his brilliant career on Friday, but bounced back the next night with 10 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, four steals and two blocks.

PG Tony Parker (13.0 PPG, 4.2 APG) is shooting a blistering 53% FG and 50% threes this year, and has also done a great job running the point in the past four games with 24 assists and only five turnovers.

The Spurs defense has been excellent all season with 91.5 PPG allowed on 42.1% FG and 32.8% threes, and has been absolutely stifling at home where visitors are scoring a meager 85.3 PPG on 41.5% FG and 32.0% threes.

BOSTON CELTICS (7-6) at ATLANTA HAWKS (9-6)
Tip-off: Tuesday, 8:05 p.m. ET
Sportsbook.ag Line: Atlanta -3.5, Total: 203

The Hawks will be looking to end their recent struggles when they host the Celtics on Tuesday.

Boston is coming off of a 111-101 loss in Brooklyn on Sunday, but the team has still won-and-covered in four of its past six games. Atlanta, meanwhile, has been extremely disappointing over the past few weeks. The Hawks lost 109-97 in Cleveland on Saturday for their fifth loss in their past seven games. They have covered in just one of those seven contests and will need to turn things around with a home victory over the Celtics on Tuesday.

These teams have played each other pretty close over the past few seasons, as they have split victories SU in the past eight meetings. Boston, however, is 5-3 ATS in those games and that includes a 2-1 ATS mark in Atlanta. Six of the past eight games played between these teams have gone Under the total as well. One thing favoring the Celtics in this game is that they are 26-10 ATS as a road underdog over the past two seasons. It won’t intimidate the Hawks, though, as Atlanta is 19-8 ATS when revenging a loss where its opponent scored 100 or more points over the past two seasons.

Both teams will be dealing with some injuries in this game, as PG Marcus Smart (Leg) is out indefinitely for Boston and PF Tiago Splitter (Hip) and SG Kent Bazemore (Ankle) are doubtful for Atlanta. PG Jeff Teague (Ankle) and PF Paul Millsap (Shoulder) are both banged up for the Hawks as well, but they are likely going to play in this game.

The Celtics will be looking to pick up a big victory in Atlanta on Tuesday and PG Isaiah Thomas (21.1 PPG, 6.5 APG, 1.5 SPG) will need to have a big game in order for them to do that. Thomas had 27 points and six assists in a loss to the Nets last game and is playing some very good basketball this season. He had 23 points, 10 assists, five rebounds and two steals the last time he faced the Hawks this season and should be even better this time around. Jeff Teague is the guy that will be tasked with guarding him, but Teague has a sore ankle and may struggle to keep up with Thomas’ speed.

SG Avery Bradley (15.0 PPG, 1.5 SPG) will also be a key factor in this backcourt. With Marcus Smart out, Bradley is getting more minutes and he is now averaging 24.0 PPG and 2.0 SPG over the past two contests. If he can continue to score the ball like that then this team will be hard to beat. In the frontcourt, C Jared Sullinger (10.9 PPG, 8.8 RPG) will need to starting playing better for Boston. He is averaging 10.4 PPG and 9.4 RPG over the past five contests, but he is shooting just 36.4% from the field and 27.3% from three. If he is not more efficient then his team will have a tough time coming away with a victory in Atlanta.

The Hawks will be looking to turn things around on Tuesday and PG Jeff Teague (16.8 PPG, 6.3 APG, 1.3 SPG) will need to play well against Isaiah Thomas in this one. Teague had 13 points and four assists in 26 minutes of action last game and is dealing with a sore ankle. If he is not able to play like his usual self then this team will struggle to guard Boston’s quick group of guards.

One area where the Hawks will have a clear advantage is in the frontcourt, where PF Paul Millsap (17.9 PPG, 9.3 RPG, 3.7 APG, 2.1 SPG, 1.1 BPG) and C Al Horford (16.7 PPG, 7.1 RPG, 3.1 APG, 1.7 BPG) will look to go to work against a weak Celtics group of bigs. Millsap had just 14 points and eight boards the last time he faced the Celtics and Horford wasn’t much better, finishing with 13 points, eight assists and six rebounds. Both guys will need to make more of an impact on the glass and they will need to try not to be so unselfish, as Atlanta will need them to score more in order to get themselves back on track.

LOS ANGELES LAKERS (2-11) at GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS (15-0)
Tip-off: Tuesday, 10:35 p.m. ET
Sportsbook.ag Line: Golden State -17.5, Total: 213

The Warriors try to set an NBA record for the best start to a season on Tuesday night when they host the heavy underdog Lakers.

Golden State's 15-0 mark ties the 1948-49 Washington Capitols and 1993-94 Houston Rockets for the best start in NBA history and the oddsmakers expect the team to set a new record as nearly 20-point favorites in this matchup.

Los Angeles has dropped seven of the past eight games during a stretch where it has scored 100 points only once. The Lakers are a dismal 4-9 ATS overall, but are a nearly even 3-4 ATS on the road, while the Warriors are a stellar 10-5 ATS overall, but only 4-4 ATS at home.

Golden State has won five of the past six meetings SU between these clubs, but Los Angeles has covered in two straight matchups, which included a 115-105 SU home win last Dec. 23 as a 10-point underdog.

There are plenty of betting trends for both teams on Tuesday night, as the Lakers are 27-13 ATS on the road after allowing triple-digits in 2+ straight games in the past three seasons and 61-35 ATS on the road after making 85%+ FT since 1996. The Warriors are 23-11 ATS after two straight ATS wins as a favorite in the past two seasons, and 29-16 ATS versus good foul-shooting teams (76%+ FT) in this same span.

Los Angeles has struggled in nearly all facets this season with only 98.2 PPG on 41.3% FG and 32.5% threes, and in the past five games, the team has managed just 92.8 PPG on 40.5% FG.

The defense hasn't been very effective either in surrendering 105.4 PPG on 44.3% FG, but has held long-range shooters to a weak 32.6% clip from behind the three-point arc. In two division games, the squad has surrendered a ridiculous 126.0 PPG on 50.0% FG.

The offense is more balanced than usual with SF Kobe Bryant averaging 16.3 PPG and PG Jordan Clarkson close behind with 15.8 PPG. But while Bryant is making just 33% FG and 20% threes, Clarkson is draining 49% of his shots, including 46% from three-point range.

Like Bryant, SG Louis Williams is also struggling to make baskets at clips of 33% FG and 24% threes. PF Julius Randle has connected on just 42% from the field, leading to a pedestrian 11.2 PPG and 8.8 RPG this season.

High-priced free agent C Roy Hibbert has also disappointed offensively with 9.1 PPG, but has added 6.8 RPG and 2.4 BPG in his 26.6 MPG. Rookie PG D'Angelo Russell has played better offensively in the past three weeks with 14.3 PPG and 6.0 RPG and will try to extend his double-digit-point streak to four on Tuesday night.

Golden State doesn't really have a weakness, as the offense compiles a whopping 114.5 PPG on 48.7% FG and 41.6% threes, while also draining 76.8% of its free throws. Not once have the Warriors been held to less than 100 points during their amazing 15-0 start to the year.

Despite the fast pace and offensive prowess, the defense has remained tough in limiting opponents to just 100.1 PPG on 42.7% FG and 29.7% threes. But in the past two meetings in this series, the Lakers have earned ATS victories by draining a hefty 20-of-41 threes (49%).

Speaking of knocking down shots, PG Stephen Curry is averaging a league-high 32.7 PPG thanks to an incredible 51% FG clip and 44% threes. Although Curry failed to reach 20 points for the first time this season on Sunday, he still scored 19 points in just 28 minutes. His backcourt mate, SG Klay Thompson is starting to heat up in his past three contests with 20.3 PPG on 48% FG and 9-of-16 threes (56%).

SF Draymond Green continues to fill up the stat sheet with 12.3 PPG, 7.9 RPG, 6.7 APG, 1.3 BPG and 1.2 SPG this season, and in his past five contests, Green is scoring 13.2 PPG on 52% FG and 43% threes (9-of-21). But he has also committed 4+ fouls in four of those five games, and will need to stay on the court and out of foul trouble on Tuesday to help his team reach a new NBA milestone for wins to start the season.

Inside the Paint - Tuesday
November 23, 2015

Oddsmakers opened Golden State as a 17-point home favorite against the L.A. Lakers on Tuesday and you could argue that the line should be higher. The Warriors (15-0 straight up, 10-5 against the spread) have been unstoppable thus far and betting against them hasn’t been a sound investment.

If you’re a little hesitant to lay the wood with Golden State, it’s certainly understandable. The Warriors are 4-3 ATS as a double-digit favorite this season. However, they’ve won five of the last six against the Lakers and four of those wins by 19, 17, 23 and 21 points.

The Warriors have been so dominant this season that their odds to win the Western Conference are now 11/10 (Bet $100 to win $110) and they continue to get shorter numbers (2/1) to repeat as champions in the NBA Finals.

The Pacific Division odds are “off the board” because their lead is too high and we’re still in the first month of the season! Sportsbook.ag is allowing its users to bet on when they believe the Warriors will lose this regular season.

Listed below are the odds and games for the next seven days but you can place wagers on games all the way up to the end of the year (12/31/15).

Nov. 24 - Lakers 15/1
Nov. 27 - Suns 13/4

If you believe Los Angeles can get the job done Tuesday at Oracle Arena, then you better grab those 15/1 odds (Bet $100 to win $1,500).

Bettors that don’t believe the Warriors will lose in the near future can take a shot that Golden State will start 32-0 at 18/1 odds.

An upcoming seven-game road trip that starts in Utah next Monday and ends on the East Coast won’t be easy for Golden State but if they remain unbeaten after that trek, the only test that looks somewhat tough after that will be a Christmas battle at home versus Cleveland.

We have five other games on tap for Tuesday and here’s my quick handicap.

Indiana at Washington: We shouldn’t be surprised but the Pacers look legit. After staggering to a 0-3 start, Indiana has gone 8-2 and more importantly, they’ve covered nine of 10 games. The Wizards are in solid form too, winners in their last three games. These teams split their four-game set last season with the Wizards winning the first two meetings in November and the Pacers grabbing the contests played in the spring. Three of the four games were decided by four points or less, the other by seven. The ‘over’ went 4-0 but the totals ranged from 182 ½ to 193. Tuesday’s total is hovering around 204 ½ and Washington has been a great ‘over’ bet (4-1) in D.C. this season.

Boston at Atlanta (TNT, 8:05 p.m.): The Hawks opened as 3 ½-point home favorites for this game and this line shows the new-found respect for the Celtics, who were catching double (+7, +7.5) in last year’s games in Atlanta. Boston came up short in both games but managed to cover one. These teams met this season already in Boston as the Celtics defeated the Hawks 106-93 at home on Nov. 13 as 1 ½-point underdogs. Prior to Sunday’s loss at Brooklyn, the Celtics had won three straight on the road. Atlanta has gone 6-1 this season when it scores over 100 and Boston’s defense has been shaky lately.

Dallas at Memphis: No early line on this game due to the status of Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph (knee). The Mavericks have been a pleasant surprise this season (9-5 SU, 9-5 ATS), especially on the road (5-3 SU, 5-3 ATS). Memphis started out slow with a 3-6 mark but have gone 4-1 in their last five and that winning run started when the team added point guard Mario Chalmers via trade from Miami. Dallas is coming off a 117-114 loss at OKC on Sunday and the team has responded well off setbacks, going 3-1 this season. The Grizzlies won and covered three of the four encounters against the Mavericks last season. The ‘over’ went 3-1 in these games and that’s not surprising for this pair, with the ‘over’ on an 8-2 run the last 10.

L.A. Clippers at Denver: Pick your poison for this matchup. The Clippers have dropped three straight and five of six while the Nuggets are mired in a 1-4 stretch. Both L.A. (104.5) and Denver (104.9) haven’t been great defensively which gives you more of a reason to stay away. Los Angeles won three of four against Denver last season, but the Nuggets saved some face and covered in two of the losses. Even though these teams like to run at times, the ‘under’ has gone 8-2 in the past 10 games and that includes a 4-0 mark to the low side last season.

Chicago at Portland: This is a very tricky game and I would’ve leaned to the Bulls in this spot but I don’t trust them as favorites (3-5 SU, 2-6 ATS) just yet. Chicago did put up a good fight to Golden State but couldn’t close and lost 106-94 last Friday. The Bulls haven’t played since then and could be a big rusty while the Trail Blazers have won two straight, which includes a 107-93 win at the L.A. Lakers on Sunday. Prior to the wins, Portland had dropped seven straight so it shows you that it’s a streaky team. Knowing the Bulls haven’t won at Portland since 2007 makes me lean to the host in this spot. Plus, Portland is 2-1 as a home underdog this season. Total bettors should note that even though the Bulls are trying to run more this season, the ‘under’ is 9-3 (75%) in their first 12 games.
