Thursday’s quiz
Where did Ravens’ QB Lamar Jackson play his college football?
Wednesday’s quiz
Charles Barkley played his college basketball at Auburn.
Tuesday’s quiz
Rams have played in four Super Bowls, with four different head coaches; Ray Malavasi, Dick Vermeil, Mike Martz, Sean McVay.

Thursday’s Den: Doing some thinking out loud……..
13) Jim Harbaugh to the Vikings didn’t happen; Minnesota will hire Rams’ OC Kevin O’Connell as their new head coach. Brian Flores will be glad to learn that O’Connell is the fourth guy to get a head coaching job who worked for Sean McVay and McVay has only been a head coach for five years.
This year’s Super Bowl coaches are age 36-38; O’Connell is 36.
12) IF your favorite NFL team wasn’t good, and there were 1-2 great QB prospects in the draft that year, would you be all that annoyed if your team made sure they got one of those picks?
Few years ago, when Gregg Williams was defensive coordinator of the Jets, he was pretty much doing that, with Trevor Lawrence the prize if the Jets had gotten the #1 pick, but Williams got fired, Jets won a meaningless game or two down the stretch and Lawrence is in Jacksonville.
11) Hard to win without a great QB; over last 20 years, these QB won a Super Bowl:
— Brady won seven
— Ben Rothlisberger won two
— Peyton Manning won two
— Eli Manning won two
— Aaron Rodgers, Nick Foles, Brad Johnson, Patrick Mahomes, Russell Wilson, Drew Brees, Joe Flacco all won one.
Of those guys, only Foles, Johnson, Flacco won’t be in the Hall of Fame eventually.
10) Washington Redskins are now the Washington Commanders; they’re keeping the same colors, so now they have a new nickname. Not sure if they’ll have a logo, other than the W they’ve had on their helmets the last few years.
Lot of money involved with a decision like this; will Washington fans buy new Commander gear? Are baseball fans in Cleveland buying Guardian stuff?
(I would’ve picked Spiders for Cleveland, would’ve had awesome hats)
9) Every weekend in Las Vegas is fun, but this weekend they have the NHL All-Star Game on Saturday afternoon, then the Pro Bowl Sunday night. Pro Bowl isn’t great, but for a town that a few years ago had no pro teams, this is an excellent weekend.
8) Stony Brook is bolting America East for CAA next year; America East has told Stony Brook that they’re not invited to the conference tournament this year. Seawolves are in second place in what is, other than Vermont, a pretty sorry league, so one less threat to upset Vermont when the conference tournament starts next month.
7) Florida 66, Missouri 65:
— Gators avoid potentially damaging loss.
— Mizzou led by 9 with 8:04 left in game.
— Fliorida made 10-23 on arc, outscored Tigers 22-12 on foul line.
6) Marquette 83, Villanova 73:
— Marquette sweeps Villanova, which doesn’t matter much.
— Marquette shot 64.3% inside arc, 10-24 on arc.
— Villanova is two games behind Providence in loss column.
5) Dayton 82, VCU 52:
— Dayton is least-experienced team in country, but they’re 15-7.
— Flyers won seven of their last eight games.
4) Saint Louis 92, George Mason 90, 2OT:
— Billikens win 4th straight game, are 6-2 in A-14.
— Saint Louis led by 14 with 10:46 left to play.
— All five George Mason starters played 42:00+.
3) Arkansas 99, Georgia 73:
— Razorbacks made 15-28 on the arc; Umude was 6-8.
— Georgia is 6-16, 1-8 in SEC; have to think Tom Crean is on hot seat there.
2) Notre Dame 68, Miami 64:
— Notre Dame won 11 of its last 13 games.
— Irish played only seven guys.
— Total of 12 foul shots, 12 turnovers in this game.
— Miami split its last six games, after a 15-3 start.
1) Samford 80, Chattanooga 72:
— Samford was 7.5-point home underdog.
— Bulldogs shot 64.5% inside arc.
— Upset puts Furman in first place in SoCon, by half-game.
