My thoughts are hear if Vancouver can win this game and excercise some playoff demons they could gain some confidence and well get on a roll. Without a doubt this is the most important game so far for this team, and Luongo. If they loose it is not the end of the world because they are down two 6 guys & schnieder and salo on defense so you know the team will look different next time they hook up. But a win would be huge for their confidence.
IMO - Coach AV should put Kessler and Burrows back together tonight to chase - toews and the little drunk around.

No way - Toronto....they hung a 6 on this game because Vancouver outright smokes the leafs tonight.
Not being a homer just check the stats - you have cup contending team vs a team that would struggle vs the Vancouver Giants. Mix the fact that Brian Burke leaked a false rumor back on draft day that Vcr was trying to trade some key players to Tampa Bay for their Hedman pick. The rumor was cleverly leaked in a documentary that Burke was filming for some reason.
last year Burke was not invited to the Trevor Linden ceremony despite the fact that invites went out to everyone who is anyone in the NHL who has been associated with nucks since linden had been with team except burke.
There is no love loss between these two GM's - I expect that to spill over on the ice.

Got so tired of hearing Pratt and Taylor, (well Pratt mostly) b!tch and whine about the 4pm start. Who cares? They are well-paid professionals who should be able to perform at any time. Why wouldn't CBC want to showcase the game at 4?
Anyways, that's my rant on that moron Pratt....

Agreed dave pratt is worst part of team1040 - knows nothing about sports and always goes for contraversay trys to still the pot - thats why they like him so much.
I told the leafs were bad we play terrible and still cover the puck line. Long season for leaf fans
whats even worse is burke traded away draft picks so he cant build the team through the draft. Terrible move. going to look like vcr and anaheim when he is done nice team on the ice - but empty cupboards

I've thought of writing XM and asking them why they cannot add some of these local hockey talk shows through out Canada and even some American cities have an hour or two through out the week dedicated to hockey talk. They've recently added Leafs Lunch and it's great for the hockey starved here in the States anyways. Vancouver's in a different time zone. I don't see why they can't spend a little money and add some different programing instead of all the repeats they have especially through out the weekend. Greg Brady used to be here in Detroit in the morning drive time and kept the hockey listeners fulfilled somewhat. He's now working in Toronto on one of their local stations. I forget which. Guys like myself and Vic are in our vehicles all day long and the repeats are better than nothing but it could be so much better.
Listening to the team 1040 has become very painful. I kicked the habit almost a year ago by using the patch that is satellite radio. I realize they are merely supplying what the listeners demand, but unless you only want to hear about hockey (and more specifically the Canucks -- even in August), it's probably not the best way to go.
