I definately need to change my strategy when it comes to the rest of the NHL.

Been killing it in the CBB forum today, did find one NHL game I like.

Sharks u5.5 +100 4*

Heads up on vcr they are getting healthy and luongo is playing great 1.95 GAA in his last 5. Burrows is scoring more points and even wellwood  got his first goal last night.

Vancouver is -230 vs edmonton tmr. looks like they will be a no play may have a total play.

VANCOUVER –1½ +1.29 over Edmonton
Man, this one is almost not fair. The Canucks have been off since Sunday while every other team in the league has been bashing each other’s brains out including these Oilers. Edmonton is coming off a heartbreaking loss to the Sharkies last night in which they gave up a shorthanded goal with just over a minute left in the third. That had to be demoralizing and now they’ll travel to play its third game in four days and the tail end of back-to-backs. The Oilers are banged up, they’re reeling, they’re physically and mentally gassed while the Canucks are the league’s most rested club and it’s not close. The Canucks are also healthier than they’ve been all year and have now won three of four with only loss over that stretch coming against the red-hot Blackhawks. Not only are they winning but the Canucks are lighting it up with 17 goals in its last three wins. One has to figure that the Canucks can’t wait to get on the ice today while the Oilers can’t wait to get off. Play: Vancouver –1½ +1.29 (Risking 2 units).

Pretty much sums it up except Vancouver played Thursday vs LAK - so obviously he did no research and exactly how does he know the Club is emotionally and mentally gassed.

Sherwood does a good job on posting plus money plays, but if you read his post enough you will realize it is just fodder for the masses with very little research done. No stats - no game day info - no head to head info.

For example looks like Ales Hemsky is now done for the season opting for shoulder surgery today.

Edmonton will be a determined bunch tonight in Vancouver, yes they are back to back and in a 3/4 4/6. But this is a divisional game on HNIC the fact that they could come back on the Sharks last night is a perfect example of this no quit team.

Vancouver in regulation -135 4*

I hope sherwood is right and this is a no sweater.....

Thanks for last night powerz. I'm a lucky idiot because I was running out the door and didn't read the thread properly so I played both. Usually sh*t like that ends up costing me, but not in this thread! congrats on busting over the century mark, way to go. Very very impressed.

p.s. enjoy the grey cup!

very strange finish in VCR last night as the last 3 SOG go in the net(s) :ohno:.

As soon as SJ scored their 4th I knew the play was dead what was luongo doing rolling around on his back. Our suppossedly stellar defense lets a forth line player in behind them he whiffs on the shot and still scores -

Then with 6 seconds left we wrist one at the net and in goes in??? very fishy indeed.

New NHL strategy, lower units - lol

Nice 3-1 night last night improving my NHL record.

Some insight from covers article on canucks lone pick up at the trade deadline.
The Canucks hope Alberts, a stay-at-home physical defenceman, will at least partially plug the rather large hole left by the injury to Willie Mitchell, who is out indefinitely with a concussion suffered on Jan. 16.

"I am just a physical presence on the ice, a defensive defenceman," Alberts said. "I am not going to put up a whole lot of points, so I hope they aren't expecting that. I just want to play solid D, make a good first pass out of the zone and keep things simple."

Alberts was averaging 15 minutes a night in Carolina and was a plus player (plus 7) on a team that doesn't have many. He ranks fourth among NHL defencemen with 178 hits this season.

"That's most of my game right there, be physical, make forwards think twice about coming down," he said. "Any time you can lay a big hit on somebody it's always a fun thing to do."

Alberts was planning to use Thursday, a day off for the Canucks, to get acquainted with his new teammates. They are not all complete strangers.

He and Canuck backup goalie Andrew Raycroft were teammates in Boston in the 2005-06 season and the Minnesota native played in the 2006 world championships in Latvia for the United States alongside Ryan Kesler.
"He's actually a very good player, he hits hard and he plays tough every night and that is what we need," Kesler said of Alberts.

Clearly a depth move but I heard a report about Willie Mitchell during the all star break and I don't think he will be back this year. Which is a shame he is a good locker room guy - team mate and shut down defenceman, Willie is also in contract year.

On to tonight:

VCR ML +138 MB 1.25*

Min/Ed Yes to OT .65* to win 2*
