I have never smoked pot, or even a cigarette in my entire life, but I still think that marijuana, which grows right out of the ground naturally, should be legal (At least for medical reasons)

Mike you & fuego keep stating that, but I'm honestly very confused as to why it would hurt you, or anyone, to utter an apology to the family, out of respect.

You're not apologizing to the victim/criminal, only the mother, the little sister, the grandmother, even if only to give them the perception that you aren't that bad of a person.

It clearly shows an arrogance, which in cases like this, already haunt an officer, and worsens everything...

Well, for the obvious reason that I WOULDNT BE SORRY! If a man was trying to kill me due to no fault of my own and I had to kill him, I WOULD NOT BE SORRY.

If I had to quit my job afterwards, uproot my family and fear for my and thier lives due to death threats....no, I would not apologize. To be honest, I would hope that his family would be calling for peace and for everyone to leave me and my family alone.
