Men s Luge:
in general: Zöggerle was the best this year winning 4 of 8 races. behind him Demtschenke, Loch and Möller are the only ones that have really a chance to win.
Zöggerle over Demtschenko @ 1.61
Zöggerle won half of the races this year. he was 5-3 in directs matchups with Demtschenko (1-3,1-9,2-3,2-1,2-1,1-2,6-4,1-31). Zöggerle is the expereinced guy here which should help especially with all the distraction going around before the race. he stated in interview that for him Demtschenko is the fav as he looked very good in preparation, but for me this is all part of the game of putting more pressure on the youngster.
Mair over Höhener @ 1.65 !!2 units!!
Mair won 6-1 in direct matchups this season (21-24,22-25,5-14,14-12,6-9,13-19,6-11). Mair has the potential to make a top 10, while Höhener did this just once all season
Rainer - D.Pfister @ 1.69 !! 2 units!!
Rainer won season matchup 6-2 (15-18,5-8,14-12,4-12,7-6,5-11,8-10,4-13). Rainer finished 6 of 8 races in top 10, while Pfister just twice. both Pfister wins were just by 1 and two spots, while Rainer won most of the time easily....rainer is a slow starter, so the shortened start of the race (from women start to lower the track-speed) will not work in his favour, but he should still win this.
Walden over Christie @ 2.45
Walden won season matchups 3-2. both runners are usually to find between 15th and 22nd..in the end there is not much between them with minimal advantage for Walden. What works for CHristie is that being from Canada he has home advantage which might be big as he will know the track much better..still to make him such a big fav here is overvalued and i ll go against him for very nice odds.
The Field over Zöggerle @ 1.78
odds are going down on this. as explained earlier Zöggerle won 4 of 8 races...so basically a 50 % chance of him winning against Loch, Möller and Demtschenko (i doubt any other can beat him).
i factor in here that they shortened the track starting from the women start which is more shallow...that gives according to interviews i heard after the final training today an advantage to the faster staters resulting in Loch and Möller finishing dominant in 1st and 2nd in this afternoon s practise.
Loch s starting times (in position of field) in last 4 races were 9th,3rd, 5th, 4th. Möller started as 2nd, 4th,5th,1st, while Zöggerle is a medicre starter starting 14th,12th,18th,12th in the respective races. He might overcome it but still at almost even odds its a great value to go against him.
if you have questions to other runners just go ahead.
that s it for me..hope the guys doing well.
