Official preview
There is a lot to make up for in the Russian men's team. Coach Vladimir Alikin: "Our performance in Östersund was not very good. We'll have to do much better in Hochfilzen. Apart from that, Mihail Prohorov, the new President of the Russian Biathlon Union, is going to come here for a visit. We definitely can't make a fool of ourselves. We'll try to get a minimum of a podium finish, at best a victory."
Eckhoff replaces Berger
In the Norwegian team, Stian Eckhoff has replaced Lars Berger. Berger is competing in the IBU Cup again. Emil Hegle Svendsen, Ole Einar Björndalen, Halvard Hanevold and Alexander Os are already in great shape, as they demonstrated quite impressively in Östersund. Youngster Svendsen currently leads the World Cup Total Score after three competitions.
The gentlemen from the Ukraine also have high hopes after their performance in the Östersund individual, when Sergei Sednev (4th), Andreiy Deryzemlya (6th) and Vyacheslav Derkach (10th) all finished in the top ten.
Head coach Levgenii Kolupaiev was not even surprised by the success of his athletes: "We have a stable squad with Deryzemlya being a very experienced leader. Sednev is still young but his shooting has become more reliable. If he can improve his skiing a little then he will become an excellent biathlete."
French skis not good on Scandinavian snow
The French are also hoping to improve somewhat this week. "In Östersund", says the men's shooting coach Siegfried Mazet, "our skis didn't go so well during the individual - that was because of the Scandinavian snow. We were also lacking a bit of competition toughness, but we were very satisfied with the third place finish by Simon Fourcade.
The ladies from France performed rather poorly last week but are in better shape now - says coach Jean Paul Giacino: "Sandrine Bailly is focussing on the World Championships anyways. She wants to win at least one gold medal there, and she really should. The overall World Cup is not as important for her."
Young hopeful Marie Laure Brunet, the most consistent member of the squad last week, aims at ending up in the top 30 of the overall score, says Giacino, "as well as a top ten finish every once in a while."
In the German squad there was a long-scheduled change. Simone Hauswald (formerly Denkinger) returns to the World Cup team for Anne Preussler. Much like the men from Norway, the German women also had a great start into the season. With Kati Wilhelm and Martina Beck, two Germans are in the two first positions in the World Cup Total Score.

Os missed two last shots here out of 20 otherwise he would be 1st in this race , Andresen once again horrible in standing position shooting , it will always be the same .

Os had problems with his riffle during the first prone position shooting and missed two , Frode AGAIN misses almost everything in standing position shooting . With same amount of errors Os was 8 seconds faster .

Typical amount of errors for Frode Andresen just once again .
So even odds on this h2h is gold value on a much more stable shooter and Os is now faster than old dog Frode , this isn't Andresen who was the best runner in whole circuit some years ago . What I am putting my money on here is that Os usually a solid shooter doesn't make 2 errors in prone position shooting , I think tops he should have 2 errors total tomorrow but honestly think 0-1 . Andresen on the other hand maybe with some luck can get a 0 in prone position shooting but standing I see 2 or more errors coming up here . With same amount of errrors Os should finish ahead of Andresen , I think Os is in great shape , well he did cost me in this pursuit when I picked him over Wolf who had great race with just 2 errors but now is the time to make it up . Only if Os makes more errors than Andresen he wont finish in front but IMO this is rather unlikely .
Current odds I see already betandwin only 1.65 , sportingbet 1.75 , bet365 1.72 , unibet 1.65 .
Still I think 1.75 and 1.72 are solid odds , I would make it 1.60 vs 2.20 ( should be more than 2.20 but this is how bookies usually juice those bets , hehe ) . 3-0 for Os this season in the h2h , make it 4-0 tomorrow .
