The punishment for altering footballs is a simple 25k fine.

He tampered with the main evidence......I know he's the bread & butter of the Patriots & does a lot for the NFL, but a years suspension for destroying the evidence should have been the verdict......but we all know how famous people get privlages......especially in the NFL!

It seems pretty obvious Brady did it, but the NFL is going to have a hard time winning a court battle considering they have no real info that Brady was involved. Will be interesting to see how it plays out. Goodell can't get anything right. Brady should have just beat his wife. Same punishment as not handing over the cell phone.
Here is the problem the NFL has. Their entire investigation is based on Brady's cell phone. They don't have anything else to lean on. The balls aren't the evidence cause they don't have any readings recorded. They don't have any incriminating video, no smoking gun, nothing of much. They have an unexplainable loss of 1 PSI in 11 footballs. Thats it! They have not a clue what happened. They are just defending themselves at this point telling the public that Brady is up to no good. They are focusing everyone's attention on some shady shit Brady is doing like destroying his personal cell phone. Like they don't already have what they needed for text messages. They had the other two's cell phones, you would have seen Tom's number on there???

We all know Brady didn't directly deflate any balls......Maybe someone did, maybe the weather did, maybe NO ONE DID......No one knows for sure the balls weren't exactly where they were before the game started. Maybe the refs don't give a shit. It just wasn't a big deal until the Colts made it one. Just like Bountygate wasn't a big deal until the Vikings made it one.

I think this case is far from over ! Why ? We also were certain that the Feds had Barry Bonds Nailed. However even though most everyone know He used PEDS, The Feds wasted $ 55,000,000 and got Zilch on him legally. Now Brady's case is very different of course but the Players Association will take this to Court and different rules come into play. Remember that the US Supreme Court has already ruled that no information attained on a cellphone is legal without an warrant. 100's or perhaps thousands of convictions are being reversed because of this ruling. It will be interesting to see how the courts will look at a suspension based heavily on Brady refusing and destroying his phone. Did He have any legal obligation to do so ? Of course not ! However does it look quilty and indicate that perhaps he had something to hide ? Of course it does ! But it looks to me that the NFL is placing a lot of their eggs in one basket and We must remember that Favre refused to turn over his phone in which it is alleged he sent a photo of his Penis to a woman and he got a $ 50,000 fine only. I have read that this case could drag on for the entire Football season because of discoveries Etc. I have no dog in the fight and am watching the case with nothing but betting angles. I think Brady will be playing behind QB opening day unless a deal is made between the Players Ass. and the NFL. Should be interesting but let's play Football.

Imo the NFL's strongest case for punishing Brady is for what the NFL perceives as non co-operation. My question is - when has the NFL ever gone to court and won?
