Further proof of two things Fish:

1. Importance of PITCHING...Pitching wins....PERIOD.

2. Batting average is overrated. I think the Sox as a team is 4th in average anyway despite this...I think.

For the record, Fish is already on the casino boat by this time playing no limit poker and some select slot machines.

How many of the great Bosox lineup would be starters in NY?

I find two.

Contrary to what you may hear. COntrary to Funk (my vote for the biggest homer here at RX but no offense Funk that is ok) and his Sox are the greatest posts, etc etc. The Sox lineup is far from great. Ortiz and Manny as 3 and 4 are great though. And then some. OVerall not great.

Crisp sucks and is not a money ballplayer to boot.

How many Yankee pitchers would get to pitch in Boston?

Pettitte would be a reliever and everyone else would be in Pawtucket.

Incredible to believe there are near 100+ games to go. it is silly to speculate that this team can win 110 in my opinion. Good team but not 110 good regardless of incredible start.

There's always next year, like in 75, 90-93, 99 &

Disagree about the starting pitching. Clemens, Pettitte, Wang and Moose are all good pitchers. Boston has the better staff, but lets not get carried away ...

besides Beckett hasn't even started his perenial "ouch .. my finger hurts" campaign.

I like Funk. He is a good guy. He also is an absurd homer. This statement is not accurate. Wake is 40+ years old, SChilling is too and not the same, Dice K has never pitcher here and ERA is near 5, Tavarez has pitched well but is not a great pitcher....Bullpen is great and that is what has helped us. Also not key injures yet.

i think the angels have the best pitching staff. Lackey - Escobar - Colon - Santana - hard to top.
To win 110 boston would have to lose less than 28 games the rest of the season, they have 97 remaining. They have 24 losses already in 65 games.
