OK, you say a smaller release might provide higher ave but if recent movies w/ similar theatres ct like Chicago, Crouching Tiger, Evita, Royal Tenabaums, About Schmidt, Hand Rock Cradle, Brokeback Mountain, The Doors, Dead Poet Society, Boyz in Hood, When Harry Met Sally, Ame Beauty couldn't even do 14K, don't see how Borat can do 15K.

Borat will be a hit given the very positive WOM and critics review, but no way will it get to 12 mil this weekend w/ this few theatres, much less the 16/18/20 mil that have been predicted here.

None of those movies have the immediate appeal of Borat. It is opening with two children's movies so its targeted audience won't be split. It is also the only decent comedy out there right now. Add to that the huge buzz it has been receiving from critics and the hype increasing everyday from ads, word of mouth, and his appearances on talk shows.

The over 11 million is being hit hard at Pinny, at -159 now.

note HE DID SAY there is a ceiling as to what this can do bc of its theatre count....

i ended up doing the 1 thing i didnt want to do this week....making another big movie bet again this week...i confessed to my gf already..."my sickness has gotten the best of me again this week"....

i definitely have a shot at a middle at ov11 un13 i hope at worst under16 hits should 13 not and those would cancel....

the bottom line is you either believe the guys info or you dont and like last week i choose to believe... i will ride with him anyday...so im on the train...greed got the best of me last week and it cost me money...as my ov33 at pinny won...

here's to greed...:toast:

needs to do 11.3k pta to break 11m....

Husk, I'm having some fun with you. You did, however, start as a serious under person saying that the line was messed up. The movie will do in the high teens.

oh the line pinny posted WAS a bad line...as anyone knows bad lines can lose...there line is comparable to the books making New England -7.5 sunday night vs indy...and people jumping on indy...

is it a bad line ya...can it still lose...ya...

the post i copied and pasted earlier was very well done...but the 9/11 movie really scared me bc it did so much on so few theatres...i believe the buzz on that was MUCH higher than this but...

i still think 16 is a joke of a line...

its all mute at this point if this does under 11m...ill get brutally crushed...just like i woulda if saw landed under 33m last week....

pinny bumped it to 12...i had my finger on the instacash button but didnt pull the trigger..i really thought about it...but i dont wanna start getting cute...every1 this is bumped is IMO much bigger than a regular movie bc of its limited release...and total gross potential...

i find it funny when i read other boards and guys talk about movies they have no clue about the little in and outs of these...guys saying that bc "the marine" did 7 million this one must do at least 11....

Yeah it certainly does. Over at The Greek, 'over 12.5m' is (-200) and 'under 12.5m' is (+160).

I think the best bet for the weekend is betting on 'under 17.8m' for Flushed Away even at heavy juice of (-200)...BOM's Brandon Gray is predicting 19.5m but I think that's too high.

I don't agree with Flushed, especially at this price. 2-1 for Over 17.5 at Pinny is very nice. It needs to do 4800 per theatre which is very fair. I don't understand whats driving the price to this extreme.

As for Borat I think its going to cruise into the teens.

5million im hoping for...to try to hit every bet i made....this WILL NOT pull a saw3 i can say that much...2.fucking3 multiplier...im still fucking pissed about that...

5million puts 11m in the W column...i think it can actually do less than 5million and still break 11m...even 4.5 and it holds on saturday would put it over11...the key being it doesnt fall on its face saturday....i think this one will be probably frontloaded but not nearly as bad as saw3....

the problem with this movie is there really isnt anything else like this so guessing its multiplier is a little tough...

i really believe 5 is the perfect # for me....
