SEC is 5-4 in bowl games...
By the way, I know you like stats so ... 10 out of 12 SEC teams had winning records. 3 out of 12 had winning records in the SEC conference. I think that says something about about the conference. It's like boot camp and by the time they get to a bowl game, who cares? And just a quick FYI - the National Championship game has already been played. This year, they called it the SEC Championship. Sorry man, just saying.
The top end of the SEC is obviously excellent. I just don't think there is anything great beyond Florida and Alabama.
South Carolina got worked over by freakin UCONN. I think Florida and Alabama are 2 of the top 5 teams in NCAAF and all but the rest of the league wasn't impressive this year.
Boise would lose a few games if they played a major conference schedule. They lose at least 2 or 3 in the SEC...
I hate it when I hear coaches say "Only thing we can do is win every game on our schedule." But the reality is that if you wanna contend for a title you should try playing top ranked teams not D1AA schools every other week. Fuck Boise!
Lets be honest qabout the SEC this year. Only 3 had winning records because it was an extremely top heavy conference. Florida and Alabama were the 2 best teams in the country IMO, however the drop off after them was HUGE.Yeah it's hard to look good when everyone else is good too. 10/12 had winning records, only 3 had winning record in-conference. Why is that so hard to understand? SEC is like a super-conference. Their numbers don't compute in other conferences. Take for example Texas' giving up an avg of 60 rushing yds/game and Bama has something like 150 in the first half? I'm expecting to see 2nd and 3rd stringers in the 4Q.
respectfully disagree..the gap has gotten closer over the last 5 years between boise and the sec........sec gets kids from the same place they always have....now boise is getting a few too.......and many top level cal kidsBoise would have been mangled if they had to play in the SEC. I'd love to see how good an SEC team would look come bowl time if they played a Boise schedule. It's a dogfight in the SEC and now you see the only ones strong enough left to stand. And yes, I'm not talking about 5 years ago either. Whatever improvement Boise has made in the past 5 years, the SEC has improved twice that amount.
