OK you win 96-83 and 124-92 are great numbers to bad they couldn't find anyone better hno:
Thats awesome numbers for 4th and 5th starters. Find any team in all of baseball right now who have 4th and 5th starters better then that.
just 1 team

All I know is the Red Sox are a lot better today then they were yesterday.
Offense is dangerous. Pitching is a big issue. I don't think Kelly will have any success in that division. Any prospects left to bring up? Buchholz is struggling. De La Rosa, Webster, Workman... any of these guys expected to be good?

few thoughts, i like the lester trade, i think they did good getting cespedes, lester wasnt taking the hometown discount to come back. redsox knew they were gonna have to drop 22mill a season to sign him, if they wanna drop 22mill a season on him, he will be back in boston next season. so they get this powerhitter with another year on his contract. i would like if they could maybe sign him to a longterm deal with ortiz at the tail tail end of his career.
after looking at the lackey trade a little closer i dont mind that one as much either, couple guys having off years but lot of upside if they return to normal next year.
lastly redsox are throwing in the towel for this year yes, but this isnt going to set them back years and year, they arent like tampa's and other small markets they can and will spend, they are just trying to load up on some younger guys and prospects and they can go after the big free agents they really want.
overall im pretty content, i like where they sit....
i hope the A's win it all this year, i like beane and how he has been there several times with a small market club i hope they go the distance this year...
How are the Red Sox better today than yesterday?
Two pitchers gone. 21 wins between them. The 5th best ERA and the 25th best.
For a .250 hitter with 17 HRs in his prime, a half assed right fielder, and a five inning pitcher coming to face tougher AL lineups?
Come on.
