You're possibly right.
I was thinking multiple tie markets (they are settled regardless) versus the very occasional void on the match odds, and I discount match odds volume a huge amount because of the amount of trading versus betting but you're probably right that the volume difference is too substantial to matter.
I still can only think of the tie market as the reason for settling the match odds as a push vs dead head though.
