How can you not include this guy on your list?

As a rookie, Clark took on Dave Schultz in the Stanley Cup semifinals against the eventual champions Flyers. Schultz had just set a new NHL record with 472 PIMs and was the "terror of the NHL" at that time. Clark destroyed Schultz and sent everyone around the NHL a clear message. Nobody messes with Clark Gillies or the up and coming New York Islanders.

Hated the rival Isles but always respected "Jethro"

OK, one fight......in Pittsburgh everytime he was sent out to be an enforcer, he would take a dumb penalty like slashing or high sticking, and get sent off before a fight could break out. Too me it looked like he tried to avoid fighting here alot. He cant skate, and he thinks he is a legitimate goal scorer. Guy is a clown.

The thing about these fighters is that most in the top say 15 "heavyweights" are very close and would be less then -250 on any given fight amongst one another.

A few times I just searched around on youtube all the top fighters in the nhl I could think of and most are very close fights. Then you will have many instances where Player A beats Player B. Player A losses to Player C. Then Player C losses to Player B..

Top fighters from a decade ago like Twist , Probert, Grimson are all 50/50 when they fight each other. Of course they destroy just an avergage fighter. But even the second tier guys can hold their own against the top guys. Second tier guys like Domi , Berube, Ray.

Same goes for modern players, top tier guys never usually pummel each other. Brashear, Laraque, etc etc all badasses but not head and shoulders above each other IMO.

Dave Semenko
cement head had one job, to protect the great one, often he wouldnt even hit the ice, cause he couldnt play for shit, they would just sit him on the bench to intimidate the opposition. Sememko was the reason no one ever went after gretzky.

The other guy no one has mentioned is moose dupont who was a great player as well as the toughest guy in the league. The reason he is not mentioned is no one would be crazy enough to ever fight him, he was the key to the broad st bullies, allowing all his teammates to be super aggressive with no fear of retaliation.
