Nobody could handle Probert in his day, NOBODY. Craig Coxe from Vancouver beat him once but that was because Bob stepped on a stick in the middle of the fight and fell. He was the heavy weight champ for many years.

Actually saw Theo Fleury fight Zdeno Chara when Fleury was with the Blueshirts and Chara with the Isles. Chara was almost laughing at how ridiculous it was, but Fleury wouldn't back down. There had to be at least 1 foot difference in height between the two.

Probert was the best. He would stand there and just keep punching. He could take a punch like no other. He never never ever backed out of a fight. His hands were hurt for the most part of his career and he would still beat the hell out of them.

That's because he was whacked out on cocaine and couldn't feel the punches.

Mentioning George Laraque is an insult to real fighters. THis guy is the biggest pussy there ever was that was supposed to be a tough guy.

Reggie Fleming back in the day.

Good fighter but maybe the best stick man ever. Saw him carve a few pumpkins in a very surgical manner.

Probert and Schultz were the most feared...they lost a few, but not many....problem for Magnuson from the Black Hawks was that he was willing to take a beating for the team, he never backed down from anyone...

I like Boogaard, but I'm not old school when it comes to hockey.

Kocer used to miss games at a time because the knuckles on his hands looked like hamburger from hammering so many helmuts.

As a long time Red Wing season ticket holder I sat thru many of the "lean" years before they got any good. The hockey was terrible but we could always could on Probert and Kocer entertaining the crowd with a good fight most every night.
