This angles bullpen is god awful.

Old smoky darren oliver pitches 4 innings... thanks... don't work too hard mr. major leaguer.

so then mike scocia brings in a guy with an 8 era. He throws 10 pitches, 2 for strikes with 2 walks, then gives up the hits... mike s. has nobody in the pen warming up, being the bull headed jerk that he is. 4 runs later he brings on some other bum that gives up the 5th run with a wild pitch... theyse jerkoffs couldn't even throw strikes!

I like the top down approach though, pick your teams to follow/fade rather than looking at the daily pitchers etc. Fade the teams that everybody loves, bet on the teams nobody wants.

I'm starting to wonder if the Angels are one of the worst teams in baseball right now.. I dont see them coming out of this anytime soon..

I think the Dodgers will keep it up but I also dont think I'll get the types of odds I'm looking for...its possible though, I just need to see the lines. I'm definitely taking a close look at them.

I dont think the Orioles have the kind of pitching that I'm comfortable following a team with. Padres are an interesting case...I tend to think maybe they'll tail off but it does seem people are still not high on them even as theyre looking good. Anybody have thoughts on Padres bullpen? I want teams with a solid bullpen if possible and I don't know enough about theirs

Thanks guys, appreciate the opinions and suggestions

I think the Padres are getting a little lucky myself, Marlins too..

I'm not sure if the Padres bats are good, or they are just feasting on mediocre pitching.. Jury is still out on them IMO.

djax...big sox fan here and i think they are a mess. getting very average starting pitching and middle relief is suspect. plus i have seen this lineup go as cold as ice. bay, youk and pedey are the only steady producers. ellsbury is streaky beyond belief, ortiz is done, drew is feast or famine. anyway, i don't know how they get a line like tomorrow to be honest. lester has been terrible this year and this is clearly a "he gets back on track" line for tomorrow. i probably will leave the O's alone, but this is a team worth monitoring for potential fade status.

Ya there definitely seem to be more people suggesting fades at this point. I'm not discriminating and saying I need a certain amount of fades and certain amount of follows...I just found it interesting. Was hoping to get opinions on each side to add to and compare to my own thoughts because thats what I'll ultimately go with.

Thanks SelectiveAscent, that will be useful. Its also a little early in the year so dont want to go purely off numbers either.

Keep it comin guys lol

I dont think the Padres lineup is good by any means, but I also think theyre better than last years and that may be enough if they have solid pitching. The Reds have done me a good job, for example, without consistent hitting but very good bullpen work and above average SP.

Huge Sox fan here myself and have listened to thousands of hours of WEEI so I know better than to take a Boston fan too seriously, especially so early in the year, because we allllways live and die by every day rather than the big picture view lol No offense meant to you at all, because I'm the same way. But personally I thought they were the best team in MLB prior to the year and I havent changed that opinion. Its far too early I think. You could be right (I hope not!) but the bullpen is far too good for me to start fading them. I also think the lineup will be fine. Ortiz is the only concern cuz he hasnt looked good yet, but its VERY early. Keep the Faith buddy:103631605

fading or following anything blindly is a surefire way to find you and your money parted.

Thanks pal, appreciate the help :103631605

Apparently I'm just picking teams out of a hat guys lol

Why do you think I'm makign adjustments on a regular basis and putting a lot of time and effort into making the right choices at the right time??? Its FAR from "blindly"...

How are your picks doing btw...please lead me to them and save me from my terrible picks @)

nice to see you around today Ninja

How'd did your bets go today...25-23 or so?? :):)

Thanks for the input, its funny I'm in agreement on a lot of peoples suggested fades but the follows not so much...and there's been a wide variety of them. Seems that nobody can agree on who is going to be good in the next few weeks and who will tail off

Braves are almost definitely a team I'll fade but it all depends on if I see the lines are adjusting to our expectations or they still havent figured the teams out.

apparently you are because even the worst team in baseball is going to win 40% of it's games adjust all you want but betting on a team because they suck is a losing proposition I was just offering my opinion but obviously you have it all figured out.

Wow, you obviously dont understand what is going on here.. Its not as simple as saying "oh this team sucks, they fade"

There is a lot that goes into it.. And its not like anyone is blindly fading a team for the whole season either.

Dude I'm not fading teams because they suck. Obviously fading the Orioles wont do me much even if they win 65 games. Do you think that we all believe the Yankees will "suck"? No, clearly they will finish with a +.500 record and possibly make the playoffs. But we're looking for situations where we can take advantage of a gap between public opinion and reality. And furthermore, I'm not doing it all season and blindly following/fading teams. I'm looking for opportunities at certain times of the year to catch a team on the upswing or a team on the downswing in relation to the expectations. "Blindly following" is far from the strategy here.

Anyway, I was just looking for some helpful suggestions concerning the strategy, not for negative comments about it. You could have just ignored it if you wanted but dont come in and say things that dont contribute please.

Gyno-Thanks, thats exactly what I was saying but you beat me to it lol
