April 15, 2016, 05:01 pm[h=1]Report: Sanders earned less in a year than Clinton in a single speech[/h]
By Mark Hensch
clintonsanders2.jpg

Democratic presidential contender Bernie Sanders earned less in 2014 than Hillary Clinton did in just one of her 45 paid speeches that year, a new report says.
Sanders reported slightly more than $200,000 on his tax returns that year.
The Weekly Standard on Friday checked that with a CNN analysis from February, finding that Clinton gave multiple speeches in 2014 worth more than Sanders’s entire income that year.
It said that the former secretary of State gave speeches worth $225,000 to GE, $325,000 for the National Automobile Dealers Association and $280,000 for Deutsche Bank AG.
CNN’s analysis found that Hillary Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, earned a combined $153 million in paid speeches between February 2001 and last May.
The pair gave 729 speeches, worth an average payday of $210,795 per address. At least 39 events took place with major financial institutions, netting the couple $7.7 million.
Hillary Clinton, the current Democratic presidential front-runner, collected at least $1.8 million herself in at least eight speeches before big banks.
The report comes as Sanders steps up his attacks over Clinton's Wall Street ties, arguing that she can't crack down on business interests.
His campaign on Friday also launched a tough ad slamming for not releasing the transcripts of those speeches.
Clinton during Thursday's debate refused to budge on releasing her transcripts.
Sanders during the debate promised to release his "boring" 2014 tax returns by the end of Friday.

[ Hypocrite in chief scum fuck Bernie ]

[h=1]For Bernie, Being A Socialist Has Its Rewards[/h]By Robert Gehl 705 Comments

If you really want to know how the “one percent” live – the über-wealthy – look no further than the socialist curmudgeon Bernie Sanders.
The man who claims to be one of the “poorest members of the House” chartered a private 767 jet to Rome for a five-minute meeting with the pope on Friday and he pulled out all the stops.

The menu on the private flight says it all:
“Herb-crusted lamb loin with lemon risotto, breaded endives and olives with a wild mushroom sauce.”
“Corn-fed chicken breast with polenta cake, anise, creamed spring peas and baby carrots.”
And that’s just two of the four entrees available.
For dessert?
“Vanilla ice cream sundae with your choice of sauces, Biscoff cookie crumble and whipped cream”
“Chocolate ganache with yogurt.”
And, of course – a “selection of fine cheeses … offered with fresh fruit and onion jam.”

Attacking Bernie Sanders Over His Visit With The Pope Is Garbage

by Tommy Christopher | 12:08 am, April 17th, 2016

pope-1-300x185.jpg
Independent Vermont Senator and Democratic presidential candidateBernie Sanders had a big weekend, jetting off to the Vatican to deliver a speechat a conference there, and even getting to meet Pope Francis himself, and to hear Sanders’ opponents tell it, this makes him history’s greatest monster. According to online critics, Sanders flew to Rome on the Marie Antionette Express, murdered the environment, crashed the Vatican like some drunken neighbor peeing in your barbecue pit, stalked the Pope, and claimed he was now an honorary Pope, too.

I’m only exaggerating slightly, and as a public service to all you Bernie-haters on Twitter, I’m going to explain why this is all garbage before you make yourselves look stupid.
First of all, Bernie is taking a lot of heat for supposedly jetting off to Rome on a “private jet” that cost “up to $200,000,” and had fancy menus with lobster sliders on them, all on his $27-buck-apiece supporters’ dime. The genesis of this garbage is a combination of this Daily Mail story and this tweet from Sanders beat reporter Yamiche Alcindor:
The facts are that Bernie didn’t take a private jet, he chartered a commercial jet, the cost of which is unknown, but which would be shared by the news organizations covering Sanders, and wow, he’s got letterhead! And an inkjet printer! The fact is he had no choice but to use a private charter flight in order to accommodate his staff, the traveling press, and the Secret Service. Aside from the fact that this attack, along with the tabulating of fuel consumed, puts you in the same intellectual space as PJ Media, or Fox News the time they complained about President Obama‘s “$200,000,000 trip to India,” it’s just ignorant of the way politicians travel. The dude’s running for a job that comes with several private jets.

Then, there’s the idea that Bernie totally exaggerated his meeting with the Pope into some kind of big honking deal, when all he really didwas “stalk” the Pope on his way out of the residence. Here’s what Bernie said:
“It was a real honor for my wife and I to spend some time with him,” the senator told The Associated Press on Saturday morning during an interview at a hotel rooftop overlooking St. Peter’s Square. “He is one of the extraordinary figures not only in the world today but in modern world history.”
The meeting occurred at Domus Santa Marta, the pope’s residence. The senator and his wife, Jane, were overnight guests there after attending a conference on Friday at the Vatican on economic inequality and climate change.
“I told him that I was incredibly appreciative of the incredible role that he is playing in this planet in discussing issues about the need for an economy based on morality, not greed,” Sanders told AP.
The meeting occurred before the pontiff departed for a trip to Greece to highlight the refugee crisis.
And here’s what the Pope said:
Pope Francis said his brief encounter Saturday with U.S. presidential candidate Bernie Sanders was a sign of good manners, “nothing more,” and hardly evidence of interfering in American politics.
…”This morning when I left, Sen. Sanders was there. … He knew I was leaving at that time and I had the kindness to greet him and his wife and another couple who were with them,” the pope told reporters traveling back with him to the Vatican.
“When I came down, I greeted them, shook their hands and nothing more. This is good manners. It’s called good manners and not getting mixed up in politics. If anyone thinks that greeting someone means getting involved in politics, they should see a psychiatrist,” the pope said.
Jeffrey Sachs, a Sanders foreign policy adviser, said there were no photographs taken of the pope and Sanders together. Sanders’ spokesman, Michael Briggs, said Francis was “100 percent correct that this was not a political meeting,” thanking the pope’s staff making the arrangements. He said Sanders and his wife “were advised the night before to be ready to meet the pope at 6 a.m.”
Am I missing something? There’s not a whole lot of Rashomon there. It sounds like Bernie Sanders did what anyone in the world who had a chance to meet the Pope would do, and the Pope treated Bernie about the same as he treated Kim Davis.
Finally, there’s the notion that Sanders is implying that the Pope endorsed him, aided by this tweet from Time reporter Zeke Miller:
With all due respect to Zeke Miller, no he freaking isn’t. I can’t imagine anyone who knows how to pronounce the word “endorsement” seeing that picture and saying, “Wow, it looks like the Pope endorsed Bernie Sanders!” I guess Hillary is also claiming an endorsement from Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Giving a speech at the Vatican on income inequality is a nice thing, and meeting the Pope and getting excited about it is also a nice thing. Even politicians you don’t like can do nice things.

Louis C.K. Compares Donald Trump to Hitler: ‘He’s an Insane Bigot’

MARCH 5, 2016 | 09:21AM PTLouis C.K. is the latest public figure to criticize Donald Trump, calling him an “insane bigot” and comparing him to Adolf Hitler.
In a Saturday morning email blast announcing the sixth episode of his web series “Horace and Pete,” C.K. included a lengthy postscript urging readers not to vote for Trump.
“Please stop it with voting for Trump,” C.K. writes. “It was funny for a little while. But the guy is Hitler. And by that I mean that we are being Germany in the ’30s. Do you think they saw the sh-t coming? Hitler was just some hilarious and refreshing dude with a weird comb over who would say anything at all.”
Later in the email, C.K. implores his conservative readers to vote for a different GOP candidate.

“We shouldn’t have to vote for someone because they’re not a shocking c— billionaire liar,” C.K. writes. “We should choose based on what direction the country should go… If you are a true conservative. Don’t vote for Trump. He is not one of you. He is one of him. Everything you have heard him say that you liked, if you look hard enough you will see that he one day said the exact opposite. He is playing you.”
C.K. added, “Trump is not your best. He’s the worst of all of us. He’s a symptom to a problem that is very real. But don’t vote for your own cancer. You’re better than that.”
See the full postscript below:
P.S. Please stop it with voting for Trump. It was funny for a little while. But the guy is Hitler. And by that I mean that we are being Germany in the 30s. Do you think they saw the shit coming? Hitler was just some hilarious and refreshing dude with a weird comb over who would say anything at all.
And I’m not advocating for Hillary or Bernie. I like them both but frankly I wish the next president was a conservative only because we had Obama for eight years and we need balance. And not because I particularly enjoy the conservative agenda. I just think the government should reflect the people. And we are about 40 percent conservative and 40 percent liberal. When I was growing up and when I was a younger man, liberals and conservatives were friends with differences. They weren’t enemies. And it always made sense that everyone gets a president they like for a while and then hates the president for a while. But it only works if the conservatives put up a good candidate. A good smart conservative to face the liberal candidate so they can have a good argument and the country can decide which way to go this time.
Trump is not that. He’s an insane bigot. He is dangerous.
He already said he would expand libel laws to sue anyone who “writes a negative hit piece” about him. He says “I would open up the libel laws so we can sue them and win lots of money. Not like now. These guys are totally protected.” He said that. He has promised to decimate the first amendment. (If you think he’s going to keep the second amendment intact you’re delusional.) And he said that Paul Ryan, speaker of the house will “pay” for criticizing him. So I’m saying this now because if he gets in there we won’t be able to criticize him anymore.
Please pick someone else. Like John Kasich. I mean that guy seems okay. I don’t like any of them myself but if you’re that kind of voter please go for a guy like that. It feels like between him and either democrat we’d have a decent choice. It feels like a healthier choice. We shouldn’t have to vote for someone because they’re not a shocking **** billionaire liar.
We should choose based on what direction the country should go.
I get that all these people sound like bullshit soft criminal opportunists. The whole game feels rigged and it’s not going anywhere but down anymore. I feel that way sometimes.

And that voting for Trump is a way of saying “fuck it. Fuck them all”. I really get it. It’s a version of national Suicide. Or it’s like a big hit off of a crack pipe. Somehow we can’t help it. Or we know that if we vote for Trump our phones will be a reliable source of dopamine for the next four years. I mean I can’t wait to read about Trump every day. It’s a rush. But you have to know this is not healthy.
If you are a true conservative. Don’t vote for Trump. He is not one of you. He is one of him. Everything you have heard him say that you liked, if you look hard enough you will see that he one day said the exact opposite. He is playing you.
In fact, if you do vote for Trump, at least look at him very carefully first. You owe that to the rest of us. Know and understand who he is. Spend one hour on google and just read it all. I don’t mean listen to me or listen to liberals who put him down. Listen to your own people. Listen to John Mccain. Go look at what he just said about Trump. “At a time when our world has never been more complex or more in danger… I want Republican voters to pay close attention to what our party’s most respected and knowledgeable leaders and national security experts are saying about Mr. Trump, and to think long and hard about who they want to be our next Commander-in-Chief and leader of the free world.”
When Trump was told what he said, Trump said “Oh, he did? Well, that’s not nice,” he told CBS News’ chief White House correspondent Major Garrett. “He has to be very careful.”
When pressed on why, Trump tacked on: “He’ll find out.”
(I cut and pasted that from CBS news)
Do you really want a guy to be president who threatens John McCain? Because John McCain cautiously and intelligently asked for people to be thoughtful before voting for him? He didn’t even insult Trump. He just asked you to take a good look. And Trump told him to look out.
Remember that Trump entered this race by saying that McCain is not a war hero. A guy who was shot down, body broken and kept in a POW camp for years. Trump said “I prefer the guys who don’t get caught.” Why did he say that? Not because he meant it or because it was important to say. He said it because he’s a bully and every bully knows that when you enter a new school yard, you go to the toughest most respected guy on the yard and you punch him in the nose. If you are still standing after, you’re the new boss. If Trump is president, he’s not going to change. He’s not going to do anything for you. He’s going to do everything for himself and leave you in the dust.
So please listen to fellow conservatives. But more importantly, listen to Trump. Listen to all of it. Everything he says. If you liked when he said that “torture works” then go look at where he took it back the next day. He’s a fucking liar.
A vote for Trump is so clearly a gut-vote, and again I get it. But add a little brain to it and look the guy up. Because if you vote for him because of how you feel right now, the minute he’s president, you’re going to regret it. You’re going to regret it even more when he gives the job to his son. Because American democracy is broken enough that a guy like that could really fuck things up. That’s how Hitler got there. He was voted into power by a fatigued nation and when he got inside, he did all his Hitler things and no one could stop him.

Again, I’m not saying vote democrat or vote for anyone else. If Hilary ends up president it should be because she faced the best person you have and you and I both chose her or him or whoever. Trump is not your best. He’s the worst of all of us. He’s a symptom to a problem that is very real. But don’t vote for your own cancer. You’re better than that.
That’s just my view. At least right now. I know I’m not qualified or particularly educated and I’m not right instead of you. I’m an idiot and I’m sure a bunch of you are very annoyed by this. Fucking celebrity with an opinion. I swear this isn’t really a political opinion. You don’t want to know my political opinions. (And I know that I’m only bringing myself trouble with this shit.) Trump has nothing to do with politics or ideology. He has to do with himself. And really I don’t mean to insult anyone. Except Trump. I mean to insult him very much. And really I’m not saying he’s evil or a monster. In fact I don’t think Hitler was. The problem with saying that guys like that are monsters is that we don’t see them coming when they turn out to be human, which they all are. Everyone is. Trump is a messed up guy with a hole in his heart that he tries to fill with money and attention. He can never ever have enough of either and he’ll never stop trying. He’s sick. Which makes him really really interesting. And he pulls you towards him which somehow feels good or fascinatingly bad. He’s not a monster. He’s a sad man. But all this makes him horribly dangerous if he becomes president. Give him another TV show. Let him pay to put his name on buildings. But please stop voting for him. And please watch Horace and Pete.

Why Republicans are obsessed with comparing Obama to Hitler

Paul Waldman

Say what you will about Mike Huckabee, the guy has a way with a quip. And when he responded to the Iran nuclear deal by claiming that Barack Obama "will take the Israelis and march them to the door of the oven," the only really surprising thing was that it took this long for Obama to go from being Neville Chamberlain on the subject of Iran to Adolf Hitler.

Because this wouldn't be the first time — or the 10th, or the 100th — that a prominent conservative has compared Obama to Hitler. Given ample opportunity to admit that maybe he went too far in his remarks, Huckabee has been unrepentant. "The response from Jewish people has been overwhelmingly positive," he said, making one wonder which Jews he's talking to, since as a people we tend to be a little put off by glib Nazi analogies, particularly ones that are so vivid. But Huckabee has gotten plenty of support from fellow conservatives, who are practically lining up to say that, yes, Obama really is bringing about another Holocaust.

I'm not going to bother to argue with the absurd assertion that: 1) drastically curtailing and inspecting Iran's nuclear program will actually do more to give Iran a nuclear weapon than just leaving the regime alone to do as it likes; and 2) the moment Iran has a weapon it will launch it at Israel in an act of national suicide. (Don't forget that Israel has something like 100 nukes, and so could vaporize every square inch of Iran without much trouble.) But I do want to comment on the propensity of conservatives to go back to the Fuhrer time and again.

Let's step back to Chamberlain for a moment before we move on to Hitler. Conservatives were calling the Iran deal the second coming of Munich even before any of its terms had been worked out. Which highlights something important about their beliefs on this topic: For all their talk of a fantasy deal in which Iran gives us everything we could possibly want and demands nothing in return, the whole point of the Munich analogy is that negotiation is useless by definition.

When conservatives said that Obama was like Chamberlain, they weren't saying Obama is a bad negotiator and could have gotten a better deal. It isn't the Red Sox selling Babe Ruth to the Yankees for $100,000. The clear implication of the Munich analogy is that there shouldn't have been any negotiations at all, and that war is inevitable so we might as well just get on with it. If your adversary is Hitler — and as far as many on the right or concerned, every potential adversary is Hitler — then war to save the world is the only option, and anyone who seeks a diplomatic solution to a dispute is a sucker.

Which is why we've hardly gone a month throughout this presidency without someone comparing Obama to Hitler, on matters both weighty and mundane. He had only been in office a few weeks when Glenn Beck started comparing his program to that of the Nazi party. "Adolf Hitler, like Barack Obama, also ruled by dictate," said Rush Limbaugh in the summer of 2009, just a few months later. Conservative commentators saw swastikas in Obama's push to register new voters in 2008, and even in his campaign slogans. Conservative favorite Ben Carson says the government under Obama is "very much like Nazi Germany," because "[y]ou had the government using its tools to intimidate the population. We now live in a society where people are afraid to say what they actually believe." And that's not to mention all the times some billionaire has compared Obama to Hitler for such appalling things as proposing to close the carried-interest loophole.

Plenty of former presidents were compared to Hitler by their opponents from time to time, but I think it's safe to say that none has been the target of so many Nazi comparisons, coming so often and from so many prominent people, whether they be politicians or media figures.

It's more evidence that the opposition to Obama is qualitatively different than what came before it. Never in our recent history has either party been as adamantly opposed to any political compromise as today's GOP is. Republicans hated Bill Clinton, like Democrats hated George W. Bush, but they were willing to work together fairly regularly — no more. No president has had his legitimate occupation of the Oval Office questioned as often as Obama has; the man even had to show his birth certificate before they'd believe he's actually an American (and many still don't).

From the beginning, the conservative argument against Obama from so many quarters has been that he's not just wrong or misguided, but is actually trying to destroy America and turn it into something twisted and ugly. If you think I'm exaggerating, then you haven't been listening to their radio shows, watching their TV network, or reading their books, because that's what they've been saying since before he got elected.

And if you believe that, then of course Obama isn't Chamberlain, because Chamberlain is just a fool. Obama is the really sinister one, the one who wants to snuff out liberty and crush those who love it under his boot. He's Hitler.

13 Similarities Between Obama And Hitler
A Factual Comparision

The similarities are terrifying, the conclusion inevitable. On March 23, 1933, the German
Parliment met to consider passing a bill that Adolf Hitler had created called the Enabling Act. It was officially called the 'Law for Removing the Distress of the People and the Reich.' Why were the
German people in such distress? Because their government was in utter chaos, and the German
leaders wanted to reassure the people that everything would be ok. The only fly in the ointment
was that the Nazis had, behind the scenes, caused the distress themselves by creating the crisis, so that they could step in and solve it. Sound familiar?

America under Obama is now a democratic Republic in name only

Hitler promised the German people that the government would "make use of these powers only insofar as they are essential for carrying out vitally necessary measures...The number of cases in
which an internal necessity exists for having recourse to such a law is in itself a limited one." So
the German congress voted on the bill, with the end result being the legal destruction of the
German Democratic Republic. The bill gave Hitler enormous, unprecedented powers to do as he
saw fit for the government of the German people. It was the act that offically created a legal
dictator who was answerable to no one. The people cheered, and National Socialism became the
law of the land from that day forward. source - The History Place

Powerful speeches to hypnotize and control the eager masses who came to hear them speak

Today, Barack Obama is changing times and laws in America, giving himself unprecedented power
never before seen. His ObamaCare bill. now the law of the land, empowers him to create his own
private army
, forces citizens to abide by unconstitutional laws, and will use the IRS in much the same
way that Hitler used his brown shirts to make people get in line behind his policies. Many Americans
will awake to late to the fact that Obama has subverted the United States Constitution, and stolen
our precious liberties and freedoms. That's why Obama's followers are encouraged and taught to
follow and have faith in Obama the man, and not in our God or in our country. This is exactly the
ploy that Hitler used to great and terrible effect in Nazi Germany.

Rep. Dingell admits that the goal of ObamaCare is to 'control the people'.

Some people would balk at the comparison between Hitler and Obama, saying it was unfair. After
all, Hitler started WWII and killed 11,000,000 Jews and Gentiles in death camps, and Obama has
done nothing like that. Well, it's only unfair if you compare Hitler at the end of his rule to the
beginning of Obama's. But if you compare Hitler and Obama at the beginning of their rise to power,
it's extremely fair.

Similiarities between Adolf Hitler & Barack Hussein Obama
•
Both Hitler and Obama held rallies in outdoor stadiums to excite and inflame the people's passions. Frequently women would faint or break into tears.
•
Both Hitler and Obama wrote ghost-written autobiographies prior to the start of theri run for political office. Hitler wrote Mein Kampf (My Struggle), and Obama wrote Dreams Of My Father. Both men then wrote a second book talking about their goals
for German and America. Hitler wrote A New World Order, and Obama wrote The Audacity of Hope.
•
Both Hitler and Obama originally had last names that were changed later in life. Hitler used to be Schickelbruber, and Obama's last name was Soetoro.
•
Both Hitler and Obama hid their real identies. Hiter had a Jewish ancestry, and Obama
a Muslim one. But unlike Hitler, Obama flaunted his Muslim roots in his start as a politician in order to defuse the inevitable firestorm. His ploy of "hiding in plain sight" worked very well.
•
Both Hitler and Obama's supporters followed them blindly, and without question
•
Both Hitler and Obama used political power and coercion to conceal and hide their birth certificates from coming to public view. Hitler made his disappear, and Obama is unwilling and unable to produce his long-form birth certificate.
•
Both Hitler and Obama advocate using young people as a driving force to create an "army" of youth dedicated to their Ideals. Hitler had his Hitler Youth, and Obama his
Obama Youth Brigade.
•
Both Hitler and Obama were known for their tremendous oratorical skills
•
Both Hitler and Obama received Messianic comparisons, and both men had songs of adoration written about them and for them.
•
Like Hitler, Obama rules in direct disregard to the will and wishes of the people.
•
Like Hitler, Obama has an obvious distaste for the Jews, and sides with the Muslims every chance he gets.
•
Both Hitler and Obama were able to mezmerize the people even when it was obvious that what they were saying was not true.
•
Both Hitler and Obama used domestic terrorists to launch their careers. Hitler had his Brown Shirts from his beer hall days, and Obama had people like Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, and Rashid Khalidi.
•
Like Hitler, Obama advocates using murder as a means of population control.
Still think it's an unfair comparison? You won't after watching this -

Holocaust Survivor Compares Obama To Hitler – Gives Americans This Advice To Survive His Reign

Barack Obama is NOT going to like this…

Kitty Werthmann is an 84 year-old woman who has seen quite a lot in her lifetime. As someone who survived Adolph Hitler’s brutal Nazi regime in Europe, Werthmann knows a thing or two about what evil is. Today, she travels across the U.S. trying to warn America that there is a new Hitler in power, and his name is Obama.

In a recent speech, Werthmann drew a series of comparisons between Obama’s plans for America and Hitler’s regime. She pointed out that the Nazis’ rise to power was not that different than that of Obama. Werthmann also said that Obama and Hitler had similar views on gun confiscation and control, increases in government spending, astronomical tax rates and increased government regulation that forced small businesses to shut down.

After telling her audience that Hitler disarmed law-abiding citizens under his regime, she warned them to “keep your guns and buy more guns.” She added that Hitler’s health care incentives were very similar to those of Obamacare.
“After Hitler, health care was socialized, free for everyone,” she said. She explained that because health care was free, doctors and hospitals became swamped with patients, and fell so far behind that surgeries often took years to be completed.
Like Obama, Hitler was a huge fan of abortion. Hitler was trying to create a race full of blonde haired, blue eyed children, and he encouraged women to abort any child who did not fit this criteria.

She added that when Hitler came to power, the number of benefits and welfare available to families increased dramatically. All of a sudden, everyone was entitled to free healthcare, food stamps and heavily subsidized college educations.
This sounds just like what happened when Obama came to power…

The Nazis quickly learned that they needed money to pay for all this “free” stuff, so they imposed taxes on up to 80% of their people’s income. While our taxes aren’t quite that high yet, we’re getting there…
Werthmann already saw this happen once, and she doesn’t want to see it happen again. Having survived Hitler, she wants to make sure that we as a country survive Obama as well.
What do you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.

And as we all know Guesser loves to quote Holocaust survivors. Doesn't he just.

[h=1]Obama's similarities to Hitler ~ A must hear speech by Kitty Werthmann[/h]

When Kitty Werthmann was a little girl in Austria, she witnessed firsthand Adolph Hitler's rise to power and the Soviet communist occupation that followed. She also witnessed, for decades, the distortions of the media when it came to the reporting of the events.
From her eyewitness perspective, Werthmann said that the whole thing didn't happen overnight, in a brutal attack, like the media portrays it, but rather, it evolved into a dictatorship gradually, over a period of a few years. Hitler didn't come across as someone evil, to be feared, initially. "In the beginning, Hitler didn't look like, or talk like a monster at all. He talked like an American politician."
Here are some things that occurred in Austria, according to Werthmann, that just might look familiar to Americans:
Hitler was elected with 98% of the vote.
Hitler destroyed the existing medical system when he brought a national healthcare plan into being.
First, people were forced to register their guns to cut down on crime.
Then they were forced to turn them in or risk capital punishment for keeping them.
Werthmann's eyewitness account is eerily reminiscent of what we can see going on in the United States today.
"In 1938, the media reported that Hitler rode into Austria with tanks and guns and took us over. Not true at all," she says. "The Austrian people elected Hitler by 98% of the vote by means of the ballot box. Now you might ask how could a Christian nation... elect a monster like Hitler. The truth is at the beginning Hitler didn't look like or talk like a monster at all. He talked like an American politician.
"We also had gun registration. All the Austrian people... had guns. But the government said, 'the guns are very dangerous. Children are playing with guns. Hunting accidents happen and we really have to have total controlled safety. And we had criminals again. And the only way that we can trace the criminal was by the serial number of the gun.'
"So we dutifully went to the police station and we registered our guns. Not long after they said, 'No, it didn't help. The only way that we won't have accidents and crimes [is] you bring the guns to the police station and then we don't have any crimes anymore and any accidents. And if you don't do that: capital punishment.'
"So that's what we did. So dictatorship didn't happen overnight. It took five years. Gradually, little by little to escalate up to a dictatorship.
"When the people fear the government, that's tyranny. But when the government fears the people... that's liberty. Keep your guns. Keep your guns and buy more guns."
Now 84, Kitty Werthmann is warning America, her adopted country, in the hopes that history does not repeat itself. Watch her powerful presentation below. If you don't want to go buy more ammo after that, then you aren't paying attention.
