He wants a lot of things. Even if he has success making it happen, it will probably take his entire four years in office all to be wiped away once he is booted. :):)

Would be 79 years old by the time he's running for his 2nd term. 84 years old before he is out of his second term. This guys not winning.

Hilary clinton obviously is going to be our president whether we like it or not.

Not where I'm at
Oh, well, I'm in The United States, and our debt has doubled in just the last 7 years of out 240 year history.
The amount of people who are on entitlements and not even looking to better themselves and their families is at an all time high.

I'm not a Bernie supporter, but I'm gonna play devil's advocate here. From what I've seen Bernie isn't campaigning on socializing the whole market place, or giving more food stamps to free loaders. He's campaigning on health care and education. While some see giving health care and education as "giving free stuff" others might see it as an investment, as healthy educated people make better citizens. They contribute more, vote smarter, work, are more productive, pay taxes. People that start off in life with a crazy amount of debt, because of education and health care are far less likely to get ahead, and people that are uneducated and unhealthy are more likely to be on food stamps, commit crimes, live in poverty ect ect ect.

I tend to be libertarian/conservative, but definitely support the idea of Education = investment.

However, as with any investment, it's only fair to objectively evaluate the ROI --- given that USA *already* leads the world in Education + Healthcare spending, why should we blindly assume more money will significantly improve the situation? Does a $700 Tablet (instead of pencil + paper) really improve the education process? Or does it simply replace dumb fat kids with Tablet-owning dumb fat kids?

Also, how does one "vote smarter" --- how is that measured? Does that mean they vote during non-peak hours, saving themselves 60-90 minutes @ the polling station?

Because educated healthy people who are productive have a better idea on what's good for the country, versus dumb fat people, that's what I mean by vote smarter. Just saying smarter people pick smarter leaders.

Are you seriously blaming the economy on Bush (who I don't like), 7 years later?....even Obama gave up that rhetoric after about 5 years....

Smart people are more likely to vote. They're more likely to understand election/political issues. All of these are good for society.

But the evidence on "vote smarter" is inconclusive.

For example, millions of smart people support Equal Pay --- and millions of smart people think Equal Pay regulations are unnecessary. Who is the "smarter" voter?
