Vegas is wrong quite a bit to people if you're going to focus on that element... count the # of games up at the end of the week and you'll see they get hammered on quite a few.. some weeks Vegas loses... each game has its own merit

Anyone willing to back Dalton and Lewis in a prime time game is risky as fuck. Staying a mile away from this game but have a feeling the Pats will come to play.

Yeah the Pats have to play this game that don't mean it will be close

Tommy Boy will be lucky to finish the game :103631605

Surprised with the Dalton hate and Tommy boy blow hards the line not moving :think2:

Greenbacks,

I respectfully submit that your view on "chalk" is way off. I love playing DOGS but the point you are missing here is public perception of what happened the week before and how Vegas skews these lines in the next game based on that. Especially when public darlings are involved. Ex. PITT hammered CAR in Week 3 on a Sunday nite 37-13 I believe it was and the preceding Thursday of the same week Pop Warner's version of TB gets whitewashed 56-14. This set up beautifully in Week # 4 when we see PIT host TB as 8.5 to 9 pt. faves.

Not only does PIT have one of the league's most notorious reps for playing down to lesser competition over the last 4-5 years but the line was off , IMHO, by 3-4 pts. I had it set at PIT -4.5 (it helped that Glennon was starting instead of Mc-Clown as well). Now I am sure you know how that game played out. TB was my P.O.W. and they won that game personally ran about 65% of most survivors left in their pool back to the place where Season 1 of the TV series was filmed...Borneo!

That post got away from me. TB won SU which killed many survivor pool entrants .

Greenbacks, virtually all of the games you cite were all 3 pts. or less so hardly large chalk as you state.

I think Kojak , said it best in his thread, "If a game stinks you go for the stink" and that is what it is really all about. Capping a game for it's own merit but knowing when to back contrarian plays and this game stinks to high heaven. Cincy giving up only 11 ppg, unbeaten, coming off a bye vs. NE, on a short week off a shellacking, who has major problems on the O-line interior and misses Mankins extremely. It is like a grocery store turnstile in front of Brady but why is this line where it is?

I'll use that effing word, Dave Schultz, of TSN.CA, uses far too often and cite "logic" oozes CINCY as the play but this is not your Daddy's NFL and the linesmakers know what's amiss and this game will not play out as obvious as it may appear to many whereby CIN should roll them. That much I am sure of.

Best of Capping to All!

Just took NE at +3, would have liked the hook but too pricey, already had Cincy at PK. Probably pointless play but not ready to call Patsies DOA or anoint Bengals the AFC champs either - I think game will be close.

I really should have listened to my own advice. Talked myself out of it! Bengals will never be prime time ready with Lewis as their coach.
