That's cool... at my kids' school, I'd say 20% of the teachers/admins are concealed carrying. I don't think you'd need every teacher to be packing, and I'd want teachers like
your wife to have the option of not carrying.
My wife is a teacher/admin and she doesn't carry, but she's open to the idea.
I think most teachers would be against carrying, just going off the ones I know. They are usually left leaning, creating nurturer types not hardwired to take a life, I don't think many if given the choice would want that responsibility. They'd much rather trained officers be in the buildings
In the vast majority of these mass shootings we know that mental illness is a problem. In the majority of the cases the shooter was on psychotropic meds. We certainly can guess mental illness on this case. We don't know yet about whether he was on meds. The signs were here and the FBI missed them. I am still wary of gun control and so many others are because the dems want to start with assault weapons. Then they want to register guns. Then they want to take them away from everyone. Look at the cities with the strongest gun control and you will see what a joke gun control is. Let me name a few: NYC, Chicago, DC, LA, Baltimore. Hows that working out?
A gun free society under liberal leadership will make all these gun shooting tragedies, wrapped into one, nothing in comparison. I know when these things happen it knee jerks short sightedness to do away with our rights for a “safer” society. As tempting as that sounds the real pushers of gun control do not give one ounce of shit about dead kids and in fact would like more of it to push their agenda. I guarantee conservatives and gun owners care way more about these tragedies of dead kids than liberals. The challenge becomes into dissecting and coming up with solutions to these problems without taking away the right to bear arms or any slippery slope thereof. I can tell you one of the underlying problems already is the liberal indoctrination being allowed to take place in our public education system.
Please STFU about "liberals" and "conservatives" when it comes to what happened on Wednesday. 17 people went to school or work on Wednesday and didnt come home. You have a good community in shock and parents afraid to send their kids to school. You have crazy police presence at schools now.
My friend is a teacher in the school. She watched the shooter open fire in her classroom. She saw 3 of her students get shot and 1 of them killed. She is mentally not doing to well. She is a sweet person and a mother of 2.
