The food is good from the vendors but it is 100x better just to sit at any of the 1 billion restaurants - it really is great - and it is spicy as a mfer - nothing like American Thai - to this day Thailand is the most remarkable place in the world to me - just beating out the Sisteen Chapel - remarkable for so many reasons
The airfare and hotel combined for about $1800, but I booked before the price of fuel shot up. I really didn't take a set amount. I decided I was going to spend what it took to have a good time. So far, I've spent around $2k on food and the nightlife. Going out can be very expensive. Beer in the Go-Gos are $5-6. Drinks for the ladies are generally a little bit more expensive, and some places have a rule where you have to buy 2 drinks for the girl before you can bar fine her. The bar fines are usually $20-$23. The girl herself is negotiable, but most of the Go-Go's ask 4000 BT ($133), but I've never paid more than 3000. However, if I like the girl and we have a good time, I'll tip 200-500 BT. On Thursday night, I think I spent around 8000 BT ($270), which isn't all that much but adds up quickly if you do it every night. So if you come here, drink in the Go-Gos every night, buy drinks for the ladies and waitresses, and take mongering to the extreme, it can be quite expensive.
A less expensive route would be to avoid the Go-Gos and stick to the beer bars, who have drink specials and their share of pretty girls as well.
Or you could go to the 711, buy a 6 pack, and pick up a freelancer on the streets and enjoy Thailand for less than $50 a night.
I was at Nana Plaza last night, and ended up in Rainbow 3. I hit it off with a waitress who spoke pretty good English as she was trying to find some company for me (to no avail). We met after closing time and she took me to a food stand where I had a great bowl of noodles. She said her sister (or friend, I can't remember) has a food stand and we agreed to meet at the sky train station at 3:00 today. I'll get some pictures of the food.
Only 4 more nights left. I'll be in full Monger Mode. Headed to Soi 33 tonight to see why the fuck they think they can charge 1500 bar fine and 5000 LT in their beer bars. You can get model-quality escorts for that kind of money.

An after hours disco is in the basement where many of the go-go dancers from Soi Cowboy who didn't get bar fined go to look for a last chance hook up. The best way to describe it is what a reverse petting zoo would be like.
Monday night will be one final fling with Oui that I'm going to extend as far into Tuesday as I can. Tuesday night is up in the air, but our flight leaves at 0655.
