Yes, i think my opinion is also skewed since i went with kids. but willie thanks for all your advice pretrip....it did help me a lot in deciding things.

yup.

kids would like disney shit , understandebly

aruba is unique. you can walk, bike with seemingly no concerns. Always has a breeze.

you can bike ride the whole coast . Felt like I was in Canada.....I would choose Aruda over Florida , not even close....

$400? Are you serious?

Yes with a bottle of wine accounting nearly 25% of the bill. The bill was 402.34 to be exact (including the 15% service charge). But the service and food doesn't match the hype of the restaurant. You can pretty much eat the same quality in USA/Canada for half the price, if not less.

That's not the average price, you'll spend that kind of money in very few places. I have in two places

Carte Blanche, which has one 3 hour+ sitting per night, serves like 6 courses and includes wine pairings.

BKT Steakhouse at the Ritz, which is also excellent

9 out of 10 love the place, there are always exceptions

I've brought 10 people there to stay with us over the years, everybody loved it and 6 have joined us multiple times

had to look it up, looks like the gated condominiums we drive by all the time. They're land locked, but have pools and golfing (I think)

They're near the CA Lighthouse, and near the best neighborhoods on the island. It looks like the closet beaches to you will be Boca Catalina and Malmok, which are great quaint little beaches. You're probably a ten minute or less drive from Palm Beach and all the restaurants in that area.

looks like you should hit a grocery store since you have a condo, we like the Super Food which is big and close and clean and built for American tourists :). The island has tons of food stores, most of them tiny over-packed stores owned by the Chinese, which can be interesting to visit

how many sportsbooks are there? any particular one I should seek out?

several small sports books, I think most of them just have kiosks

I know there's at least one more traditional sports-book somewhere, but it's been a few years since I went there. Maybe the Hilton

dozens of smaller casinos, nothing by USA standards

Got back from Aruba yesterday. I would not consider Aruba a beautiful island, but the weather is absolutely ideal! As far as restaurants we ate at Driftwood, Barneys and Sole Mare (twice) as well as lunch places like Big Mama's on Baby Beach. Aruba felt VERY safe especially compared to some other Caribbean islands. I also found the food to be over priced. The house we rented was expensive and upkeep does not seem to be their strong suit.

let me also add, fireworks are NOT my thing at all, but the fireworks display around the entire island on new Years Eve was an AMAZING experience (and I am not impressed very easily). It is something I will never forget! Simply amazing. I was surrounded!

Which islands do feel are unsafe?

I love the idiots that bring 2 kids under 4 on a plane. Do you think they have a clue where there going. There job is to be annoying to you and everybody else. The only place you bring 2 kids under 4 is Sesame Place. I love when the retarded parents bring 4 and under to DISNEY.
