Alves could also use some work defensively. I've seen him get beat 1v1 a few too many times for such a highly rated player. I guess a few mistakes at the back are worth what he brings offensively.

Totally agree. Much better in the hole or paired up with someone else. Adebayor is hurt right now and I venture that Wenger didn't want o start Bendtner or Da Silva game 1 so this is what you get. Fortunately worked out for them but this will likely change.
