Attacking these one by one -
1) serious vehicular accidents & deaths are way way down - when your business is shut down, no need to drive to work. I'm sure drunk driving cases are way down.
2) flu deaths & serious complications have decreased tremendously - how do we know, people (especially the elderly) are scared to go to the doctor now.
3) C-19 ill health & deaths are far less due to the lockdowns - same as above
4) likewise probably other communicable diseases (e.g. tuberculosis, HIV) have been greatly reduced by the extreme safety measures in place - again, if people cannot see their DR, we'll never know. Are people smoking and drinking less? I doubt it.
5) street crimes have probably been highly reduced. - outside of riots, maybe so. If there are extended lockups, there may be more crime as people become more desparate.
6) families have been able to spend more time together enjoying each others company while free from the slavery of that 4 letter word "work" that the vast majority hate. Giving more time for quality of life activities like sex & various entertainments - and prople being cooped up also leads to more beatings and spousal abuse that never gets reported. Its probably a wash.
7) abortions (child murder) are probably down - no clue without seeing the stats.
COVID and government policies is damaging the development of our youth. Learning social and communication skills is just as important as learning from a book. Zoom classes cannot replicate this.
