This conversations shows how stupid liberals are. Reported flu cases are just estimates based on deaths and hospitalizations. Whereas reported coronavirus cases are based on positive test results. Just look at how few positive test for the flu there have been every year over the past few years and it is clear the Liberal person who said this stuff is a complete retard.

personally, I’m opposed to such policies. The left thinks we can wear masks to get rid of this thing. It’s preposterous. The masks lower the risk by minuscule amounts, if that even. Some masks, like gaiters actually increase the risk. Masks lower the spread of people wear the right material and never touch their masks or faces. That’s not how people wear them. Most people choose the wrong material and fiddle with them.
I remember early on they estimated that washing your hands lowers your risk by 17%. That’s really not that much. Now new science shows it’s almost entirely airborne transmission, so 17% was also bullshit. Washing your hands lowered it far less than that. Maybe a 1-2%? Who knows, no one.
But the left should be frank and come out and support Wuhan style lockdowns where they weld people inside their house and let you die if you die. At least it would be honesty from them for once. These social lockdowns aren’t doing shit. Literally not shit. People who want to avoid others will avoid others, and people who don’t want to avoid others just have 8-10 people over and the exact same thing that would happen at a bar now happens at someone’s smaller living room.

The partial lockdowns that have occurred in most of the world this year were never intended to totally eliminate the virus. That was - never - their purpose & no health expert imagined they would accomplish that.
Nah, health experts have repeatedly said that masks are not a silver bullet. They are just one effective means of reducing the number of infections, long term ill health consequences & deaths. Other safety measures are important and should also be practiced.

What is obviously clear is due to lockdowns:
1) serious vehicular accidents & deaths are way way down
2) flu deaths & serious complications have decreased tremendously
3) C-19 ill health & deaths are far less due to the lockdowns
4) likewise probably other communicable diseases (e.g. tuberculosis, HIV) have been greatly reduced by the extreme safety measures in place
5) street crimes have probably been highly reduced.
6) families have been able to spend more time together enjoying each others company while free from the slavery of that 4 letter word "work" that the vast majority hate. Giving more time for quality of life activities like sex & various entertainments.
7) abortions (child murder) are probably down.
