The more these idiots try and make stupid laws like the one in AZ, the more I am for gay marriage. For a group that likes to talk about smaller govt, they sure like to tell us what we can and cant do (like UIEGA). If marrying within your gender makes you happy, then have at it.

I don't know too many gay people, but each one that I have ever met have each seemed to be more successful than the average person.

Funny how most everyone I've heard or seen discuss this bill has no clue what it actually says. The liberal media portrays the bill as being anti-gay, and the low-information
lemmings swallow it up.

The fact is, under current state law in Arizona, business owners can discriminate against gays or anyone else as they see fit. What this bill does is *restrict* that ability to discriminate.

So, this law is actually doing the opposite of what all the idiots out there who are screaming against it, thinks it does.

Given that, here are some of the main changes the Arizona bill would make:

Those covered by RFRA would include "any individual, association, partnership, corporation, church, religious assembly or institution or other business organization."
A religious freedom violation can be asserted "regardless of whether the government is a party to the proceeding."
The person asserting a religious freedom violation must show three things: "1. That the person's action or refusal to act is motivated by a religious belief. 2. That the person's religious belief is sincerely held. 3. That the state action substantially burdens the exercise of the person's religious beliefs."

I don't understand why people are against gay marriage. If it doesn't affect you, then why does it matter... These people are probably living together anyways, the only difference is legality/insurance/ect... I'm more curious about how people feel about a gay couple raising a child...

It does affect me, and it does affect society at large, for many reasons. Here are just a few:

1. It is an attack against the traditional judeo-christian family unit, which has been the foundation of western civilization for centuries
2. Normalizing gay/bi/trans-sexual/transgender behavior is to "normalize" a lifestyle that is ridden with both physical and mental health issues:

In September of 2010, Reuters reported: "Nearly one in five gay and bisexual men in 21 major U.S. cities are infected with HIV, and nearly half of them do not know it". A September 2010 report of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported : "Gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (MSM) represent approximately 2% of the US population, yet are the population most severely affected by HIV and are the only risk group in which new HIV infections have been increasing steadily since the early 1990s. In 2006, MSM accounted for more than half (53%) of all new HIV infections in the United States..."

A new study by a group of University of Chicago researchers reveals a high level of promiscuity and unhealthy behavior among that city's homosexual male population. According to the researchers, 42.9 percent of homosexual men in Chicago's Shoreland area have had more than 60 sexual partners, while an additional 18.4 percent have had between 31 and 60 partners. All total, 61.3 percent of the area's homosexual men have had more than 30 partners, and 87.8 percent have had more than 15, the research found.
As a result, 55.1 percent of homosexual males in Shoreland -- known as Chicago's "gay center" -- have at least one sexually transmitted disease, researchers said.
The three-year study on the sexual habits of Chicago's citizens will appear in the upcoming book, "The Sexual Organization of The City" (University of Chicago Press), due out this spring.

3. Since we are now "normalizing" gay marriage, polygamy and pedophilia are next, mark my words, it is already happening.
4. Gay adoption is child abuse.
