Also what do the Alex Smith years have to do with the Chiefs as of now? I agree they are a good franchise but that doesn't mean they're formidable without Mahomes on the field....

How good would the Chiefs be if you put the back up in over Mahomes right now?

Any top 5 QB could get most teams to the playoffs. So, what Allen is doing isn't proof because at one point a team sucked and now they don't. They sucked because teams with trash QBs suck. It is why titles are king. Aikman started on a horrible Cowboys team but no one thinks he is better than Montana and he won 3. I mean Allen Iverson took a dump 76ers to the finals maybe he is GOAT. No need to look at Jordans titles
Troy Aikman had probably the best OL in the history of the NFL. Flozell Adams, Larry Allen, Daryl "Moose" Johnston.. literally ran over the opposition.

RUN, RUN (Emmit Smith), PASS (Irwin, Novacek) = FIRST DOWN/TOUCHDOWN.

Teams knew what was coming and STILL couldn't stop them. That Cowboys teams was STACKED.

Although unlike JoeyB, Aikman knew how to take advantage of a stacked roster and win SBs. LOL

Hey, everyone remember when Carson Wentz was the cat's ass of the NFL? Then he left the Eagles and what has he done since?

Well-run top organizations with solid rosters make avg. QBs look "top 5" caliber.

Newsflash: They ain't.

I guess you forgot when Chad Henne came in for that key 98 yard TD drive against the Jags.

AND the fact Mahomes was hobbled for the playoffs afterward (but still beat your boy JoeyB LOL).

See? Andy Reid made it work. That's what happens when you QB for a top-tier organization. QBs look better than they are.

That's my point - the Bills STINK, yet STILL always have a chance ONLY because of Josh Allen.

Whenever you want to make these silly apples to oranges QB comparisons with stacked teams against garbage, remember this: Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl. TRENT FRIGGIN' DILFER!

Very flawed logic. This is what I mean by "small sample size." A couple of games is a small size, let alone a single drive. What happens to the Chiefs if Chad Henne had to start with this team for this year for a long stretch of season?

What happened to JoeyB the week before this game? No shame in losing against a fellow elite QB in their building by a FG, especially when you've already beaten them in similar scenario

One single drive. Chiefs would suck if Mahomes wasn't their QB this year. Guy has been let down by the most drop-heavy, trash WR in the league
That's my point - the Bills STINK, yet STILL always have a chance ONLY because of Josh Allen.
They'd be worse without Josh Allen without a doubt. No one argues that. The other teams over the long haul would also be worse without their QB's -- Chiefs, Bengals, etc. the last couple weeks of Browning is not evidence. What happens if Browning plays a whole season?

Having an elite QB is more linked to winning championships in 2023 than it is in 2000. The league has changed.

No, not a single drive. Just ONE example when an avg. QB plays on a top team.

Avo, Andy Reid took Jonathan Gannon to school in the Super Bowl. That wasn't Mahomes, it was all Andy Reid. You need to watch film and listen to analysis. Because of his injury which limited his mobility, Mahomes was very much slotted in as "system QB" - Reid's offensive tactics won that game.

Again, top-tier organizations with stacked rosters make "top 5 QBs" look better than they actually are.

So, let's say you have two QBs with relatively similar stats. One is throwing to 20-30m WRs, while the other is throwing to well...avg. catchers at best. Those two QBs aren't "equal". To wit, the disparity in ability is much wider than YOU think. Even though "the stats" are similar, it is EXTREMELY MISLEADING.

That's why the Chiefs have lost 4/6. Their WRs are - what was that word you used again? - oh yes, "DOGSHIT!" Something no amount of "Mahomes Magic" at the moment can apparently overcome.

Forget analytics. As a GM, you have to evaluate a QB's ability based on what he has to work with. Otherwise, you will get RINSED, both on the field and at the negotiating table overpaying for garbage. The DCs are too good in this league.

I realize I'm the lone wolf declaring JoeyB "non-elite", not to mention the fact he's glass and can't stay healthy (I was right about that too). I'm fine with it and will simply wait for Father Time to prove me right.

I had to sit through that crappy game last nite.
Dolphins were missing their starting left tackle and left guard.
Their starting center gets injured in the 1q and the backup (Eichenberg) was gawd awful.

a bunch of bad snaps last nite plus penalties.
Tua didn’t look good. Seems like Tenn took away his first option and was willing to give Tua short passes all day.

When the fins went up 14 last nite I was thinking how crazy it was that they were gonna cover the 13.5 as their offense didn’t look good.
Kills me that I had fins -1/2 as my 4th leg of a 4 team 23 point teaser.

my mind went from having home field advantage to I don’t even want to watch and having 2nd thoughts about going Sunday

There has been some rumor of Billy coming to the Bills. I don't see it, you?
Unless Pegula has a meltdown, cleans house (coaching staff and management, including Beane) then opens the vault for Belichick.

Jim Harbaugh is the rumor, with the goal of utilizing Allen the way he did Kaepernick on the Niners - run, run run! Not sure I agree with that.

Personally, I would go with Joe Brady, who will be HC somewhere in the NFL next season.

Dolphins: Jets, Cowboys, Ravens, Bills

A team that hasn't beaten a .500 team in over a year, now suddenly has to beat at least 2/3 down the stretch to win their division (assuming they blow out the Jets, the same way I automatically assumed they would blow out the Titans LOL).

This I gotta see!

Bills: Cowboys, Chargers, Patriots, Dolphins

Overrated Dolphins could easily lose their last 3 games....EASILY.

Side note: Imagine Josh Allen with Tyreek Hill.

Is there any way you can facilitate getting Allen traded to the Patriots, exp? I'd love to see Billy B with Josh Allen. Wouldn't be long before the rest of the league would be uttering - aw fuck!
Belly is under .500 without Brady career-wise and has zero idea of drafting and developing offensive pieces. The Patriots are lost right now.

Even with all that happening the Dolphins offense looked fine when Hill was in. You felt sooner or later something big would happen whether one play or long drive. When Hill was out, they were totally lost.

Hill or no Hill, I'm penciling in the Jets game as a "W" giving them the benefit of the doubt.

But maybe they need to start beating some of the "ranked teams" before people call them "contenders"

Give him Josh Allen. He'll fill in a few offensive pieces (They sure are woefully empty of right now). The Patriots will once again own the Division and threaten for the SB. Have you taken a hard look at this Patriot Defense? They have been missing the only two Defensive studs in that lineup since week four or five (Judon and Christian Gonzalez).

I know Brady did it by going to a stacked team in Tampa. But I am a firm believer that the 20 yr Patriot dynasty would have never happened if either Brady OR Belichick were absent.

They are also the AFC East leaders
For how long?

Even I thought they'd blow out the Titans.

Now their best player is hobbled by an ankle injury while their QB looked like a lost puppy dog without him.

Their OL is in shambles and their next three opponents are against top 5 defenses, which means those DCs will be working overtime trying to neutralize the Dolphins obvious (and perhaps only?) threat - the ol' Belichick way.

As a special bonus, they get their always pesky division rival on a short week coming off that heartbreaking MNF loss.

Fun times for a Dolphins fan!

M you're playing fantasy football. Give him Josh Allen, how? Come now. Why stop there and ask IF he had Mahomes? Belly has no idea about drafting a QB of that caliber. If he somehow can make his way to LA he can coach Herbert. Brady proved he could win without him. Belichick has yet to do that. He's way under .500 without the GOAT.
