Lie #1 -Rick - Don Best said:Like I posted across the way, neither my father nor myself have any idea what you are talking about. He read me what he sent you telling you the same thing, why don’t you post it?
Are you saying that we did not win an injunction against your company regarding our mailing list?
Why don’t you show all of us one lie that I have posted?
Since you are so keen at posting emails, you go ahead and pick whichever ones you want to post.
Thanks,
Rick

Next, we do not have any problem with competition, as a matter of fact we welcome it. Our dedication to our products has always been our top priority, and we invite all users to compare our products to any other product on the market. We have a staff of 5 programmers that are some of the brightest individuals I have ever met.
...
While you can do that with a few of your favorite books. There are still a couple reasons to use a line service.Darryl Parsons said:I still can't understand why anyone uses these line services anyway. There are only about 10-15 truly solid shops out there and with such small numbers is it really that hard to press the "refresh" button!?
Call me crazy, but why would I want your source code when it has already been noted in many places that our screen updates faster than yours?Rick - Don Best said:Mike,
Mike, how is that a lie? Are you referring to our agreements with the sportsbooks? Exclusive agreements are commonplace in American business. We have had our exclusive policy since we first began putting offshore lines on our service, around 1994 or so. There are good reasons that we have this policy. Premium Sportsbooks receive benefits for providing us with their data, and we in turn ask for the exclusive, and they have no problem with it. If they ever decide that it would be in their interest to associate with another service instead of Don Best, they are free to do so. This is a mutually beneficial arrangement between two willing parties. So you may not like it, but there is nothing wrong with it.
So now that you have decided to enter this market we should just ignore these agreements? Heck, why don’t you come over to our office and we will just give you all of our source code also.
So again, I do welcome competition. But that does not mean I am going to help another company compete with ours (Call me crazy.)
Thanks,
Rick

Why take delayed express odds when you can go over to G&J and get Real Time odds? I will give you the same deal, except I will give you our Gold (real-time) service instead of a delayed line. Think about it.Rick - Don Best said:Darryl,
If you try our service, you will quickly see its many benefits. If you send me an email to ricka@donbest.com, I would be happy to set you up with a free 30-trial of Express Odds.

Remind me what the old Hollywood argument was about?
About the injunction... I was not part of the company when that all went down. I am not versed well enough to say yet. It is my understanding that it was false and bogus claims. And it is to my understanding that you are still running around to the sportsbooks saying that we stole your list. I do know for a FACT that G&J never stole a list from Don Best. What legal battles transpired after you called the FBI, I do not know anything about. We have an affiliate program which markerters promote, and thats how we get customers.Rick - Don Best said:Mike,
With experts such as JJGold reporting, it must be fact.
As for Hollywood, unlike yourself, I will not post the details of any private business dealings on a public forum. But, as you can see for yourself, since they continue to post their odds on our service, they must feel that the agreement is mutually beneficial.
You are forgetting a couple of my earlier questions:
When I have lied on these forums?
Are you denying that we won an injunction against your company regarding our mailing list?
Thanks,
Rick

Funny, unprofessional... possibly. But at least you guys can get this information right from the source. It has never been out in the open. All these guys want to do behind-closed-doors deals, and you guys are the ones that get screwed. I have never been in the business of screwing people, and I am not about to start. These hush-hush meetings dont sit well with me, so I am an open book. Love me, hate me, ignore me... all above is fine, but this is what I am.TommyMullins said:Wow This Is One Funny Thread. I Think Both Gjmike And Dbmike (rick) Are Both Looking Really Really Foolish And Unprofessional.
TM, thank you for the compliment. I am sure they will eventually call us. Or figure out another way to send the FBI over. The sportsbooks have now started ignoring whatever exclusivity contracts are supposedly in place. Their answer to DB will be 'Call G&J Update.' So we are waiting for the call.TommyMullins said:Gjmike/dbmike, You Guys Both Have Great Products. You Should Talk On The Phone And Resolve Your Issues And Agree To Stop Engaging Each Other In This Forum.
