I would not completely agree. As a 2000 {expert level} player when
i retired from offline tournament chess, i rank the pieces thus:

Pawn=1
Knight=3
Bishop=3
Rook=5
Queen=10

In general a horse {knight} and bishop are worth about the same.

This is a more accurate representation of piece values.

Oh, a friendly note to novice players: More experienced players will quite often willingly Trade Queens knowing that their superior ability to create Traps and Forks with Bishops and Knights will give them an advantage in Midgame and Endgame.

So be careful not to expose your own Queen to their Queen even though you're thinking, "If he takes my Queen, I'll just take his right back".

When I was in high school I became friends with a guy who didn't have a television at home, so he'd come over to watch sporting events. Found out he was rated 1900+ and (i'm pretty sure) was ranked in the top ten for bughouse in the world.

...Yes, bughouse is a lame name - but a great, great chess varient played two on two. You can play it on FICS, although those guys are REALLY f'ing good at it.

My feeling about Knights/Bishops was that Bishops are more valuable while you have both on the board, but that value evens out once you've lost one.
