There are like 50 corona threads so I'll just put this here. Seems like just a matter of time at this point.
Trump is considering ‘enforceable’ quarantine in New York, New Jersey and parts of Connecticut
yep down to 1.51% death rate in USA ... 2nd lowest in the western world only to Germany. 1% higher than seasonal flu. but that's not a fun narrative around here when moron socialists are controlling the threadshope so...Just the flu on steroids.
Just scary being in "lockdown" and not having our "normal" activities going on
that's good i guess because exactly ZERO people are saying things resume as normal in 45 days. Most of the 3M new unemployed from last week won't have jobs to go back to, for startersRight now I have more respect for people fear mongering than people who are saying everything is going to be ok in 1-3 months.

you're right. NYT has it at 0.1% not 0.5% so 1.41% not 1.00%
the experts, which were used as a model to close down the economy, were telling Boris and Trump 5-7% at an absolute minimum...shambolic

We won't have a good idea of what the death rate is until more data is in, it is just guesswork at this point really (time to death from infection tough to pin down but I've seen 15-18 days as reasonable estimate) but even South Korea is at 1.5% right now when it was previously believed to be .6%. I'm not sure where our # lands at but seems like 3-4% is well within range of outcomes w/o medical breakthrough. Obviously depends who gets infected (age, health) and when (how is the hospital system holding up in a given area a that time)
Wish we had a better plan than halting commerce (perhaps we would've if given a month to prepare but obviously that isn't realistic), but flattening the curve is essential.
