Roadreeler,

Thanks for posting this link. I was there but didn't hear the early speakers because I was hiding in the shade. I later found a place under someone's tent and did hear Sheriff Joe speak, as well as state senator Pearce, the author of SB1070. I did shake the Sheriff's hand and told him he was doing a great job.

I noticed Joe didn't even wear a hat to block the sun. He has even wearing black clothes in 107 degree heat. That is why he is the toughest sheriff in America.

Your contribution to our efforts is also very important and much appreciated.

Wish I couldve been there with you & the others even in the grueling heat..I havent been to Phoenix since about 87 & burned my bare feet running across an apartment complex parking lot on the way to their pool in Phoenix..I know Duh no flip flops?....I bet it was an honor to shake Joe Arpaios hand & Im glad a cyber friend had the chance to do it....RR

</TD><TD vAlign=top>ALERT! Immigration becomes election issue. Ask your Representative to support state enforcement of immigration laws! </TD></TR><TR><TD height=5 colSpan=2></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>The passage of the Arizona law made immigration a key issue in many elections. Several candidates made their support for enforcement a key part of their campaigns. Since these were primaries, it is difficult to draw definitive conclusions, but there are some reasons for optimism.

However, we know most incumbents will win reelection so it is important to let them know that voters support the Arizona law. H Res 1384, by Representatives Gary Miller (R-CA), Sue Myrick (R-NC), and Lamar Smith (R-TX), would express the sentiment of the House that states "have the inherent authority of a sovereign entity" to assist "in the enforcement of the immigration laws of the United States." It specifically supports "attrition through enforcement."

While non-binding, the resolution would provide a useful counterweight to the opposition emanating from the White House. Moreover, it would put pressure on entrenched incumbents to reveal their positions to voters before the November elections.

ACTION NEEDED

Please ask your Representative to support this resolution and support the right of states to assist in enforcing immigration law. Send a fax or an e-mail by entering your ZIP Code and clicking "Go!" http://capwiz.com/caps/issues/alert/?alertid=15130766

Stand With Arizona (and Against Illegal Immigration) Funny, I don't remember the Mexican Attorney General expressing regret over the cold-blooded murder of a Border Patrol agent by a MEXICAN TEENAGER in July 2009. And I somehow don't recall Eric Holder's outrage over it. Do you?

Tell the President - Visit Arizona!

June 10, 2010

In my meeting with President Obama last week, I personally invited him to come to Arizona and see the border for himself. He declined to commit to a personal visit.

The President should see for himself how a lack of enforcement has turned Arizona into the superhighway of illegal drug and human smuggling activity.

I need your help to let the President know that the invitation remains open. Help me by sending a postcard to the President encouraging him to visit Arizona.

Click on the postcard to send the President an electronic postcard to the White House.

NC's Senate Joint Resolution (SJ 1349), filed by NC State Senator Don East (R-Surry), would allow a version of Arizona's immigration bill (SB 1070) to be filed during the short session of the NC Legislature this year. This resolution has 12 sponsors already and room for more lawmakers to add their names.

Passage of SJ 1349 would allow Senator East to file NC's version of the Arizona bill, which would be titled "AN ACT TO CREATE THE CRIME OF WILLFUL FAILURE TO CARRY OR COMPLETE AN ALIEN REGISTRATION DOCUMENT."

Contact your NC Senate Representative and tell them to co-sponsor this joint resolution!
