CENTRAL AMERICAN TSUNAMI --

This month's legislative recess comes at a key time. Just before Congress left for the August Recess, the House finally passed border bills that actually made some sense. However, the fight is not yet over in the House. Now we need to get the House to charge ahead with legislation aimed at reducing total immigration and securing the border once and for all!
Opportunities to advocate for sane population policies abound - from Townhalls to district office visits in your local area. CAPS is here to support you in your vital volunteer efforts.
1. Attend a Townhall scheduled across California and the nation Click here to find a Townhall near you. Or paste the link below into your web browser. Heard of a Townhall not on our list? Let me know at anthonymiller@CAPSweb.org.
If you attend, and are lucky enough to make a comment or ask a question, here are a couple talking points and questions to consider:
The “one-time only” amnesty to 3 million illegal aliens in 1986 led to an increase in illegal immigration and the current situation, where we now have 11,000,000 to 12,000,000 in the country illegally. How do you think that another amnesty -- or any legalization of those who came here illegally -- will help our situation?
The key to true immigration reform is a mandatory E-Verify program for all jobs. If we eliminate the attraction of jobs, illegal immigration will rapidly diminished, and many of those who are here illegally will leave of their own accord. Will you support mandatory E-Verify?
2. Visit your Representative's local district office Find your House Representative and the location of his or her local district offices by clicking here or by pasting the link below into your browser:
Call your House Rep.'s local district office and schedule an appointment to discuss immigration policy.
Engage them with the talking points above or ask them about what they know about the immigration system and if they realize how out of hand things are today.
Please call us at (805) 564-6626 if you have questions or need more information. And, if you attend a Townhall or visit your Rep., please let me know how it went by emailing anthonymiller@CAPSweb.org.
