Finally, an environmental organization allows the population side of immigration issue to be heard
HERE IT IS:
http://www.earthisland.org/journal/index.php/eij/article/give_me_your_tired_your_poor/
I'm writing to those of you who have registered with NumbersUSA as being particularly concerned about deep environmental issues and threats.
(You can review your Interests Profile here) https://www.numbersusa.com/account/interests

The Earth Island Journal has done something that no other environmental organization has been willing to do this year (to my knowledge). It has allowed its readers/members to see an argument for why doubling legal immigration and forcing even higher population growth is the wrong thing to do for the environment.
Click this link to read the debate between U.S. population stabilization advocate Dave Foreman and the anti-stabilization leader, David Foster. He is the executive director of the BlueGreen Alliance, a coalition of labor and environmental groups that spoke out this spring in favor of the Senate immigration bill.
http://www.earthisland.org/journal/index.php/eij/article/give_me_your_tired_your_poor/
Perhaps nobody in America has devoted so many years to pure advocacy for the non-human inhabitants of our country than Dave Foreman. He does it again in his article. I hope you find ways to circulate and use the article.
You also are given a chance at that link to vote in an on-line poll on: "What do you think: Will immigration reform help or hurt the environment?"
Many major environmental organizations this year allowed their names to be used by the news media and open-borders groups to help pass S. 744 in the U.S. Senate.
Like David Foster at the BlueGreen Alliance, these environmental groups try to avoid that there are any population consequences at all to immigration policies. They do not acknowledge that increasing the U.S. population by tens of million each decade is a threat to all the environmental resources that those groups claim to exist to protect.
It is important to remember, though, that these environmental groups are not intentionally trying to explode U.S. population. It's just that their main focus is a desire to provide lifetime work permits and residency to an estimated 11 million citizens of other countries who have overstayed their visitor visas or have illegally crossed our borders.
But the bill that they helped pass in the Senate also would double the number of new legal immigrants over the next ten years. In all, the Senate bill would add more than 30 million new permanent residents to the U.S., plus all the births that will result from that new population.
When you vote in the on-line poll, I hope you will consider leaving a thoughtful comment. If you've been waiting for a forum where the environmental issues of immigration could really be discussed, Earth Island Journal has finally provided you one.

This country is more polarized & divided as any time since the 1860's & Obama has a lot to do wjth that.

When remembering the patriotic song 'My country this of thee' I see the divide with the stanza's

'Land of the pilgrims pride
Land where my father's died

Most Obama supporters have never heard of the Pilgrims with what they now teach in school
Furthermore most Obama supporters fathers died in far away places not the US

Lyndon Johnson & Ted Kennedy's Immigration Act of 1964 paved the way for Obama's majority & things are likely to get worse.

Attention NC residents,

NCFIRE has assembled a report of
NC Superior Court cases, from October 14th through the end of 2013, that list over 101 confirmed and highly probable illegal aliens, who have been charged with raping a NC child. (see report here)

There are over 350 different charges. Many of the individuals had numerous charges against them, meaning, they raped more than one child or raped that child numerous times.

101 different individuals having court dates
in 2 and 1/2 months is an epidemic.

We CAN NOT let this continue. Contact your NC Legislator and tell them: "Enough is Enough! Enact and Enforce STATE Immigration Laws!"

This Issue: Obama declares HIS job #1 is to put more foreign workers in U.S. jobs -- Billionaires increase pressure on Republicans to help him
picture-21.jpg
Immigration news this week was full of maddening rhetoric, but also hopeful signs that the 2.5 million participants in NumbersUSA's action networks may be nearing a victory in stopping any amnesty or immigration increase in 2013.
With victory seeming so close in reach, now is the time to continue your 10-month, non-stop campaign of phone calls, faxes, emails and office visits to ensure a positive outcome. (See links in the right-hand column.)
Just this morning, Politico produced a story giving several reasons its reporters feel no immigration bill will pass Congress this year. In part, it stated:
A growing chorus of GOP lawmakers and aides are intensely skeptical that any of the party's preferred piecemeal immigration bills can garner the support (of enough Republicans).
That would be good news, because most of the GOP bills are either clearly harmful to the country or questionable, and any bill that comes to the House floor potentially can be used by the Senate to push through at least part of the amnesties and foreign worker increases that its majority wants. All attention at the moment is on Republicans in the House because they hold nearly all the power over whether immigration legislation moves forward this year.
Politico is a top news site for Washington political junkies. Its news coverage and opinion pieces this year have tilted heavily toward giving lifetime work permits to some 11 million illegal aliens and giving the lifetime work permits to another 20 million new legal immigrants over the next decade. Thus, it was interesting to see the publication unable to find much hope for its preferred amnesty, especially in a week when Pres. Obama held a flashy White House event for religious and business leaders.
The President told the nation that Job No. 1 for his Administration the rest of the year is to add those 30+ million immigrants to the legal workforce. (Of course, he didn't actually say the number. No political or media advocate for "comprehensive immigration reform" ever does.)
But this was the most maddening thing the President said:
". . . if there is a good reason not to pass this common sense reform, I haven't heard it"
How about 20 million reasons, Mr. President?
The President and nearly every other supporter of giant immigration increases absolutely refuse to acknowledge that immigration policy has any effect on American workers. And they never address how what they want might affect the 20 million Americans that Mr. Obama's Labor Department says want to work but cannot find a job at all or have been forced into part-time jobs.
The President could offer his own explanations as to why he thinks his preferred legislation would not harm these struggling Americans, but he is nothing if not insulting to act like our concern for 20 million vulnerable members of our national community is not at least a good reason for concern.
Apparently the way Pres. Obama called out House Republicans this week to stop blocking what he has sometimes indicated is what he hopes will be the legacy of his second term insulted some Republicans who previously had been leaning toward supporting bringing bills to the floor.
Politico reported:
Republican leadership doesn't see anyone coalescing around a single plan, according to sources across GOP leadership. Leadership also says skepticism of President Barack Obama within the House Republican Conference is at a high, and that's fueled a desire to stay out of a negotiating process with the Senate.
But the fight isn't over. Many of the gigantic forces you are on the verge of defeating are making something of a last-ditch effort on Monday and Tuesday with what they call a "fly-in" of 600 evangelical leaders and corporate titans.
As USA Today reported, political liberals like Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook) and Michael Bloomberg are joining with the Chamber of Commerce and Rupert Murdoch to pay for this big lobbying effort of people identified as conservatives in order to persuade a majority of Republicans (118) to approve bringing immigration bills to the floor of the House.
Several news outlets are reporting that major corporate donors to the Republican Party are now talking about withholding future contributions from -- or backing Primary challengers to -- Republican House Members who refuse to vote for big increases in foreign workers during this time of high unemployment.
There is almost no limit to the money available for these kinds of efforts. But their success may be largely determined by whether there is a limit to your willingness to pick up a phone or a computer mouse and express a different opinion.

[h=1]Boycott: List of Companies Pushing for Amnesty for Illegal Aliens[/h]Posted on NOVEMBER 6, 2013 Written by TORO 520 22 COMMENTS

The majority of Americans oppose any path to citizenship – to oppose the will of the people is tyranny; to allow corporations to dictate law is fascism.
Excerpted from the Center for Immigration Studies:
Officials representing over 100 corporate interests issued a letter to Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) demanding the legalization of 11 million illegal aliens and increased legal immigration through the creation of new visa programs. As these companies put it in their letter:
[W]e strongly support efforts to bolster the availability of a workforce at all skills levels, through a separate visa program as well as by creating a path to legal status for those already here.
The companies include well-known names like Hallmark Cards, Disney, CVS, the Cheesecake Factory, American Airlines, Wendy’s, McDonald’s, the Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Coca-Cola, T-Mobile, AT&T, UPS, Rubbermaid, and McCormick spices — just to name a few examples.
These companies cite a recent Congressional Budget Office report, arguing that the Senate bill would grow the economy. They conveniently left out the CBO estimate that even though the amnesty might make the economy larger, it would simultaneously make American workers poorer by lowering the wages of American workers for a decade or more. The companies claim the bill is an “opportunity to level the playing field for U.S. employers” but it is more of an effort to level the wages of American citizens.
It is difficult to understand how these companies can feel justified in demanding the importation of cheap labor with a straight face at a time when tens of millions of Americans are unemployed. The number of working-age (16 to 65) native-born Americans who are not working — unemployed or out of the labor market — stood at 57.5 million in the second quarter of 2013. The unemployed population is spread throughout the labor market and includes 25 million with no more than a high school education, 16 million with some education beyond high school, and nine million with at least a bachelor’s degree.
The letter is available online. The names of the companies pushing to amnesty illegal aliens, double legal immigration, and undermine immigration law enforcement are listed here:
