Senate to Vote on Amnesty Bill TOMORROW
Tell the Senate to Vote NO on S. 744!
June 10, 2013

The Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) has announced that the U.S. Senate will vote to proceed to a floor debate of S. 744, the Gang of Eight's comprehensive immigration reform bill.

The bill proposes to grant immediate work permits to the estimated 12-20 million illegal aliens presently residing in the U.S. There are no provisions in the bill to make English the official language of government and to ensure that amnesty recipients learn English.

ProEnglish urges you to call your Senators right now and urge them to vote NO! The vote to proceed will occur tomorrow, Tuesday, at 2:15 PM.

Overall, the bill contains the following fatal flaws with regard to English requirements:

 • Illegal aliens are not required to prove any English ability before legal status is granted (Sec. 245B).

 • Green card (permanent legal status after a 10 year waiting period) applicants have an English language requirement full of loopholes (Sec. 2102).

 • The bill does not provide for the establishment of English as the official language of the U.S.
TAKE ACTION!

Call and email your two Senators TODAY!
Tell them to Vote NO on the cloture motion to proceed to debate.

OHIO Senator Portman is still not sure how he will vote on Senate Bill 744. The bill would grant 33 MILLION new lifetime worker permits to foreign citizens while so many Americans are still struggling to find work.

CALL Senator Portman (888) 995-5449 and urge him to vote NO on Senate Bill 744!

“AMNESTY VOTE IN SENATE ON TUESDAY; CALL YOUR SENATORS NOW AT 888-978-3094

If Congress passes the Senate Gang of Eight bill, it would be like re-creating ALL of the Top 20 cities in the United States, filling them entirely with foreign citizens and giving them lifetime work permits to compete with America’s struggling workers—in just ten years’ time.

URGENT ACTION

ROY BECK
Last-Minute Surprise: House to vote on a partial DREAM amnesty TODAY -- Phone your U.S. Rep. ASAP
That's right, NOT the Senate but the HOUSE of Representatives!

Even as our attention is fixed on the Senate amnesty battle, HOUSE leaders are trying to sneak through a small amnesty today -- probably to test the waters for a much bigger amnesty next month.

ACTION: Please phone your Representative to oppose the Denham Amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act.
888-978-3065
The number will take you to the Capitol Switchboard, Just ask for your U.S. Representative by name. (You can be sure of the name of your Representative by clicking here to go to your customized NumbersUSA Action Board.)
We have to send a message to the Republican leaders of the House, who almost certainly approved this amendment to come to the floor.

 • TALKING POINTS for Phone Call:
 • Americans aren't any more interested in a Republican House amnesty than they are in a Democratic Senate amnesty.
 • The Denham Amendment No. 77 may only be a small amnesty, but its passage would open the door for far worse. Vote NO.
The House of Representatives is considering the National Defense Authorization Act this week. Representative Jeff Denham (R-CA) has introduced, and the Rules Committee has allowed, an amendment to the bill that would grant amnesty to illegal aliens who enroll in the military.
While the amendment says these illegals who join the military will get "conditional" lawful permanent resident status, under current law, an LPR in the military is IMMEDIATELY eligible for naturalization, so the conditional thing is nonsense. Once they naturalize, they can immediately sponsor their illegal parents for LPR status, along with other relatives.
Here is NumbersUSA's notice sent to Members of the House:
"NumbersUSA opposes the Denham Amendment #77 (to the NDAA, HR 1960), which would give immediate legal status to certain illegal aliens who join the military. Congress should not be encouraging illegal aliens to launder their immigration status by joining our Armed Forces.
"American men and women proudly join our Armed Forces because they want to defend our great country and the rule of law for which America stands. Enticing illegal aliens to join in order to obtain lawful permanent resident status, along with a path to legal status for their family members through chain migration, cheapens the commitment that millions of Americans have made to serve our nation.
"We urge you to vote NO on Denham Amendment 77, and we will score this vote as a vote for amnesty."
While it is fairly certain that the majority of Republican House Members oppose amnesties, the Republican leaders of the House have been looking for a way to pass an amnesty anyway. Allowing the Denham Amendment, House leaders will be testing the depth of resistance to amnesty in the House.
We have been so focused on the Senate that we haven't done a lot of mobilizatin on the House in quite awhile. Please help send a very clear signal of resistance.
THANKS, and P.S.,
Your faxes and phone calls to Senators last night and today that expressed your disappointment with their vote to move the amnesty bill to the Senate floor, appear to be having a good effect.
Several of the YES voters of yesterday have already come out and made it clear that although the voted to allow debate they find S. 744 to be unworkable. We will be giving you who live in the states of these Senators a chance to pat them on the back and further solidifty them into a NO position.

Tell Your Representative to Vote NO on Illegal Aliens in the Military!
Amendment to National Defense Authorization Act Allows Illegal Aliens to Enlist

Dear Jim,
While the Senate debates a 1,000+ page amnesty bill, the House of Representatives is quietly gearing up to vote for amnesty!
An amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act sponsored by California Republican Rep. Jeff Denham would make illegal aliens eligible to enlist in the military. The only conditions are that the illegal alien: 1) entered the U.S. before 2012; and 2) were younger than 15 when they entered the country. That's it!
Call your U.S. Representative NOW! Click here for his or her phone number and talking points to make your call.
Then, once the alien enlists, the Secretary of Homeland Security is required to make them a lawful permanent resident (or green card holder). Moreover, DHS doesn't even need to wait to hand out green cards. Under the Denham amendment, illegal aliens could conceivably enlist in the military and get a green card the same day. Then, due to their military service, these aliens will be on a fast-track to citizenship!
The policy implications of this amendment are severe. In addition to encouraging a massive flow of illegal aliens into the military in order to get a green card, the national security risks are clear. There are no specifics in the amendment regarding how an alien proves he/she came here as a child. As they do already, illegal aliens could easily forge documentation to meet the flimsy requirements of this amendment.
Call your U.S. Representatives immediately and tell them to vote NO on allowing illegal aliens to join the military and be put on a pathway to citizenship!
Click here to find his or her phone number and talking points to help you on your call.
The House is currently debating the bill to which this amendment will be made and could vote on it as soon as today or tomorrow!
Sincerely,
FAIR
P.S. Click here to call your U.S. Representative now! The House could vote on the Denham Amendment as early as today or tomorrow. Call today to stop this amendment that allows illegal aliens to serve in the military & immediately receive legal permanent resident status.

HERE is yet another story

Foreign governments are working hard to shape the debate on immigration reform as momentum for a comprehensive bill builds in Congress.

While the issue routinely comes up in talks between foreign leaders and the executive branch, embassy officials are ramping up their outreach to Congress and the White House in order to take advantage of the best hope for reform in years.

A number of countries with significant immigration ties to the United States — notably Mexico, Ireland and several Central American nations — have been making their concerns known while doing their best to avoid meddling in domestic affairs.

Attn. N.C. residents:

We need everyone in the following counties to contact their Representatives about House Bill 786- Reclaim NC Act. Buncombe, Davidson, Guilford, Harnett, Iredell, Lee, Mecklenburg, Surry, Wake and Wilkes (see below for contact info). They are the co-sponsors of this bill. This is the bill that guts the current e-verify law and allows for almost all illegal aliens in NC to obtain a NC state issued drivers' permit and/or ID card.

H786 was originally designed as an illegal immigration enforcement bill and it still has some very good measures in it however, somewhere along the way, special interests and big business got involved and completely changed the overall intent of the bill.

We need you to contact the current sponsors of this bill and tell them:
1) protect NC citizens and not illegal aliens and their big business/special interest friends
2) put unemployed NC residents back to work by making jobs available to them. The jobs that are currently held by illegal aliens in the construction industry, the travel and tourism industry, the hotel/motel industry, etc...
3) stand up for the conservative Republican values that are listed in the GOP platform and
4) stand up for the constitution and the rule of law.

It will only take a minute of your time and will go a long way towards making a difference in our state. Get involved and be a part of the solution! Your fellow NC citizens will thank you for it.

Thank you,

James Johnson

Background on H786
H786 Sec. 8(f)- redefines a seasonal worker from someone who works 90 days or less, to someone who works less than one year. That dramatically increases the number of people who will be exempt from our e-verify laws. The large corporations (fast food industry, hotel/motel industry, restaurant industry, etc...)are reclassifying many of their employees as temporary so as to avoid paying the Obama Health Care tax on them. They will now be exempt from e-verify as well if this bill passes.

H786 Sec 8(h)- exempts employers in NC from prosecution if they happen to hire an illegal alien, as long as the illegal alien has one of the new state issued drivers' permits or ID cards. It is a violation of Federal law to hire an illegal alien period.

H786 Sec.9 (all) allows all illegal aliens in NC (and in the country for that matter) to obtain a NC state issued drivers' permit and/or ID card. This makes them almost as legal as you and I and beyond the reach of our state law enforcement. They can not be reported for being in the country illegally, they can not be e-verified, they will no longer be charged with driving w/o a license (a free pass on breaking the law). They will instantly be eligible for every social welfare benefit program that every taxpaying NC resident is (without putting a cent into the system). About the only thing they can't use the ID for is to board a commercial airline flight.
