Good to hear, going March 8th to 11th with Royal, ship is called "Splendour of the Seas"... just trying to get a small taste of the big cat's lifestyle :grandmais

Vision Class... much Older but I'm sure it has been re-done a few times.
probably doesn't have all the bells and whistles of Today's ships... but a good start.

One of my all time Favs is a older ship

Wow. I always thought Carnival was one of the better ships to get on. Never been on one myself but I always had the impression it was nice. Planning on a cruise for next spring. Floating walmart was all I needed to hear. Good to know this feedback

Meanwhile, officials in Mobile were preparing a cruise terminal that has not been used for a year to help passengers go through customs after their ordeal.

Yeah, thankfully they don't have to spend the night. Glad they are making special arrangements for those poor bastards

I guess watching his Team is more important to him... than to figure out a better and Faster way to get those people some Help.

The problem from what I heard from a guy on CNN this morning is that these are Americans and going to Mexico would be a nightmare for immigration because they don't have their passports. Plus the current favors going to Bama

Their first plans were to go to Mexico... but because of strong winds they had early on, the Ship was pushed 90 miles out.
So they changed their plans to Bama

How does it measure up to other cruise lines? in luxuries

For me, I think it's the best bang for the buck out there. It's not as luxurious as some of the other cruise lines, but
you don't pay nearly as much either.

i was on the triumph
i used to luv cruises and carnival, but never again. Just like any industry, once a company starts to cut corners to maintain [unrealistic levels of] profitability things can get out of hand.

Coach B is correct. Story is blown way out of proportion by media. I was on the Carnival Cruise Elation that was stranded in the Pacific a couple years ago. Very similar situation yet we were drifting way out to sea. We relied on airlifted supplies from the USS Ronald Reagan. You don't bob like a cork, you list a bit( had sea legs for over a week ). Bathrooms overflowed but mainly on the lower cabins. They worked their ass off to get sanitation working and was able to. Problem is 4000 people who don't shower in an enclosed area. Body funk is the worst. As for the food, big deal it is cold and you have to feed 4000 people. Oh and by the way, food is located at the bottom of the ship in one location. Man power had to move all supplies to serving location. Trust me, the Triumph learned from the emergency on the Elation. My advise, ALWAYS get a balcony room.

Either way, it can't be a Fun thing...

and Yes, a Balcony is a Must ! all the BS I hear about only using your room to sleep...so who cares about a Balcony..
It's so much better with a balcony...You can just hang out there... eat Breakfast... Fresh Sea Air Great for you.

I also never get a room below the 8th Floor... that way I'm only a couple of Floors below the Pool Deck... and only a few floors from the Dining room.

Passengers aboard the fire-damaged Carnival Triumph cruise ship set up a makeshift tent city on the vessel?s deck, using deck chairs and sheets.

Over the last four days Triumph passengers had described an overpowering stench on parts of the ship. After the fire, toilets and drainpipes overflowed, soaking many cabins and interior passages in sewage.

"Just imagine the filth," said a passenger, Jacob Combs. "It was inhuman."During the drama at sea passengers contacted relatives and media before their phone batteries ran out to say people were getting sick and passengers had been told to use plastic biohazard bags as makeshift toilets.
Smoke from the engine fire was so thick that people on the lower decks in the rear of the ship had to be permanently evacuated and slept the rest of the voyage on the decks under sheets, passengers said.
