France has contributed greatly to all forms of culture, from the arts to philosophy. It is more like the US wouldnt exist if it wasn't for France....let's not forget Rosseau and Voltaire and how the influenced the way of thinking of your constitution and how before that it led to the fight for self-determination.
as for WWII...the soviets played the biggest part in Europe and would have won if it weren't for the US (although it would take quite a bit longer).

if only the ussr had won the cold war.....then you guys would really be happy....there`s always gonna be a big dog....i would suggest that the u.s. would be a lesser evil than say china,russia or some radical muslim state....
even if you totally disagree with this administration`s foreign policy,be patient...there`s a chance that it might change in a few years..and there`s the beauty......that couldn`t be said for many other powerful nations(particularly before the cold war)...
it would be nice if the world were a village....a nice little socialist commune....we could all sing cumbaya...
unfortunately,that`s not reality....human nature is a complex thing.......as we see on this board....for every liberal,there`s a conservative....for every passive,there`s an aggressive...

wow, this thread is interesting, I'm going to have to read it sometime when I'm not buzzed! Being a cynical gen x'er myself, I'm tenetively going to have to side with 90210, for the moment, but I'm seeing good arguments that uphold America's honor. Hmmmmm you guys should watch the Emporor's Club, it's not bad... one of it's theme's eludes to the moral bankruptcy of America's current fascist leaders. lol.
