@cloverleaf..From the play calling I have seen from Kiffin this year they are not calling Henry's number enough. A lot of pass play called in the ULM game. I think Alabama's OL is good but not great.

Bama is not going to Win this game. There is nothing on Offense or Special Teams that is consistent this year. There is no identity for this team other than "they've got talent". And they are not going to create an identity on the road against a very good team that the media has allowed to stay in the bushes.

Look for the UGA TEs to be the difference in the game. They are talented and deep at that position. Malcolm Mitchell is playing lights out. UGA has a very good O line. For Bama to win this game, they will have to attack the young secondary of UGA.

UGA needs to stay balanced. The UGA backfield is underrated thus far. Everyone knows about Chubb....but SM is a stud.

Lambert has been a surprise. Have to remember: he's at UGA because he couldn't win the starting job at UVA.

Tough to use this as a valid argument. Virginia is a dumpster fire. The kid had an opportunity to move back to his home state and play for one of the better teams in college over the past decade. He had no weapons at Virginia. He was a 4* player coming out of HS....and in his class will be one of the Better QBs to play. Diffently the best pro style in his class from a recruiting pro style standpoint.

I do agree his play has been a surprise. I thought no way he wins the starting job over Ramsey, but Richt grew some balls and let Schotty play the better player, forgetting the loyality shit he has coached by in the past. Most QBs in this situation would do the same.

on a side note.....this will be Cokers first road game in front a large crowd. Sanford will be rocking. Could be a little rattling to him.

should be a great game as the last time we played Bama in the SECCG. Just need Richt to not have any brain farts and let his coordinators do their job.

@CoachCB. Lambert very surprisingly played well and I would note that he has had good protection, he has been getting the ball out quickly, he has been making good decisions, and most of all he has been giving receivers very catchable balls. I can't say the same about Coker.

Had several ringer teams early in my middle school. I didn't play for one of them and as a QB it can take the fire out of you when you are the best athlete on your team and are running for your life because your team is either inferior or poorly coached or both. Lambert obviously has benefitted from a change of scenery with an opportunity to succeed. Maybe mentally he was gone from Virginia before he left the field. But he sure looks good.

Cloverleaf, everyone thought I was wrong 2 weeks ago as well...I also believe our defense matches up better against Georgia and we will slow them down. But, that is not where the problem lies sir. We have no QB play and our wide receiver core does not separate and is average at best.
Swalker, you weren't the only one on Miss that weekend as I had a ML play on them as well. i do think that Lambert being a pocket QB is perfect for Bama, however, I mentioned earlier that they need to move him around and get him out of the pocket. He's mobile enough to do that. While running the ball is important, they have to move their pocket against Bama to be successful. It will make the game much, much easier for them.

I said the same above in referencing the TE's for UGa. It has the potential to be a huge advantage for them if they use them. And just the opposite on the other side. Where is OJ Howard and how can he only have 13 grabs through 4 games?

This game will obviously be close...I don't think we see the shootout that was Ole Miss/Bama. Now if turnovers and STs comes into play I can see a higher score, obviously. I'm staying away from this. I haven't seen UGA play a tough team yet, so I'm not sure how good (or bad) they really are. I thought they'd win the East this year, so where they sit is no surprise. Game being in Athens makes me lean their way though.

On Lambert, I agree w/ the change of scenery thought. Look at Jeff Driskel at La Tech; having a hell of a year. Kids w/ talent make a difference if they get some good coaching....and Richt is a heck of a QB coach.

Bama's defensive fron 7 is as good as it gets ! The problems for Bama's defense (as they have been for several years now) is playing fast tempo teams with great wide recievers , but the dawgs dont fit that mold. Georgia's power running game is a great match-up for the Tide defense

...On the flip side , Georgia's defense is also as good as you'll see , and the Bama offense has yet to get on tract.

27 points will win this old school smash mouth slobber knocker.

The one thing that is glaring to me on the Georgia stats is that they are 115th in Time of Possession. Maybe a UGA fan can explain that one better to the guys here that say Georgia Offense does not fit the mold that can give Bama fits......because 115 sounds like some decent quick strike scoring ability.........to me.

Georgia's quarterback is "PERFECT" for Alabama's defense.

Look at the QB's who have hurt the Bama Defense...(AIN'T) a pocket passer who can't run.

Swalker, I'm an OLD fart but you are chasing pigs on this one.

Alabama will beat Georgia...me being a Bama homer has nothing to do with my prediction.
I am of the same belief as you on this one..

@REDELEPHANTS. The numbers are slightly skewed because in the UGA home opener versus ULM there were multiple lightning delays and the game was ended with 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter. As you can see in the majority of the games we were able to produce points quickly and in the 4th quarters the game was already over and UGA was just trying to run some clock.

In the Vanderbilt game, Lambert started 0-7, but has been on fire since in the second half where he was 9 for 11. He followed the next game with a school record 24 for 25 in the South Carolina game, and 20/24 in the Southern game. Georgia has 422 yards of total offense against Vanderbilt and 576 yards against South Carolina.

Like many had commented this line moving towards a pick-em prior to kick off. I will be interested to see what the tout tally is and also i think the majority of espn analyst have been on Bama. Anyone have the public numbers?

ATHENS,GA
ATH
— It’s raining hard now.
That’s probably the most pertinent information I could pass on as No. 8 Georgia and No. 13 Alabama get set for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff at Sanford Stadium. Georgia officials say they’ve already had two inches of rain fall on the field here and that number could grow to more than five inches before we’re through. But while that really sucks for the 92,746 spectators who apparently still plan to attend — there was still a lot of tailgating going on around campus as I drove in — it should not have a profoundly negative impact on the athletic contest itself.
Alabama coach Nick Saban, his police escorts and umbrella holder check out the field conditions at Sanford Stadium. SPECIAL / BRITT THOMSUGA Athletic Director Greg McGarity was just telling me that the Bulldogs have a true, USGA-certified, sand-based bermuda field. And here’s why that’s important: First off, no mud. And secondly, it “percolates” at a rate of 18 to 21 inches per hour. So unless it rains more than that per hour, then there is going no puddling on the field.
And UGA is taking no chances besides. The Redcoat Marching Band will not be allowed on the field for pregame ceremonies or at halftime. And grounds crews will be dispatched out on the field between TV timeouts and quarters to attend to any sod damage that has occurred during the course of competition.
So how the rain itself effects the ball and the passing game is one thing, but this is going to be no quagmire contest like we saw at the old Gator Bowl in Jacksonville in 1993. Footing is not going to be a problem. And with the modern-day gloves receivers wear nowadays and the systems they use to keep the balls dry, I’m not thinking the weather is going to prevent these teams from throwing the ball at least as down and distance dictates.
I’m reminded of that aforementioned “Monsoon Game” between Georgia and Florida. Yes, field conditions were deplorable, but that didn’t prevent quarterback Eric Zeier and the Bulldogs from throwing the football all over the yard. In fact, Zeier attempted a school record 65 passes for 386 yards and two touchdowns. Georgia tight end Shannon Mitchell also set a record in that game with 15 receptions (for 140 yards).
The point being, teams can still throw in the rain. And that’s important because I believe Georgia is going to have to pass the football to win this game. That’s where the disparity in proficiency is greatest between the Bulldogs and Alabama. The Crimson Tide is 11th in the SEC defending the pass, as opposed to first by a mile at stopping the run. And Georgia under quarterback Greyson Lambert is fourth in all of college football at 10.6 yards per pass attempt. You may have also heard that Lambert has completed 33 of his last 35 passes for the Bulldogs. That’s 94 percent.
He won’t have only one incompletion in this game, but I’m expecting you’ll still see Georgia throw and catch a lot. We’ll find out soon enough.

As you can see from my week 5 thread, the weather has completely changed the situation and my bet for that matter...Bama by 7 in a slobber knocker.

Another gimmick by UGA - "The Storm".....

This game is a surprise, especially the UGA offense getting shut down the way they are.

Let's see how this second half goes...

This was no surprise.

Georgia's offense was made to order for the Bama defense. The only reason the Under was in doubt was a punt block TD and a Pick 6.
